It's the way he phrased it that's important. It kinda made me feel like she'd be more important than a one off NPC, especially since he's not even sure about a few other popular NPCs. I might just be reading too much into it though

Oh i never thought she would be a one off NPC.

 

I imagine she will be at least as important of a character as Bhodan and Sandal. Considering shes the "Artificer" shes probably the person you take resources to to make potions and stuff. Kind of like a much more interesting order sheet from DA2.

Well, a bioware dev in that Raptr QA was just asked "Are there romance options outside of companions or advisers" and he responded with, "There is at least one that i know of".

 

Now, that doesnt confirm Dagna in the slightest, but it does increase her chances a bit.

It would be nice if Dagna turns out to be a romance option but I don't expect it. She could be race gated and bisexual. At least then race gating could work in the favor of dwarves instead of mostly against, as I am fearing.

Danga is actually mage-gated; the race gating is a just a coincidental effect of which races could be mages.

If Danga is into ANYONE it would probably be mages.

S'alright I found it... seems like Dagna's at the top of the list for the non-companion LI, at least according to speculation. Of course it could just be an revealed NPC, but based on evidence we have so far, she's a very good candidate .

Right...the only real evidence is that she is an NPC we know exists...

 

Still, i have some hope.

 

I sincerely hope she isnt race gated though. And if she is, not very severely. Id be disappointed if she was dwarf only, because my favorite class to play in DA is a mage.

As someone who loves playing dwarves, my only concern is that she's either straight or only into mages (wouldn't that be a divisive situation for the two of us).

Im still inclined to think that the Qunari will be the only ones race gated to dwarves. But i think you have a far greater chance of romancing Dagna then i would, provided neither of us would be willing to alter out preferred character.

 

And, of course, assuming she is available at all.

I've always thought, that if Dagna was a LI, she would be tied into the Cadash origin story. Mainly dealing with the fact that the dwarven inquisitor can now do magic (kinda).

Technically I guess, one might consider being a Grey Warden a form of "magic" seeing as how it does give you dreams, something dwarves usually lack. It's been shown time and time again that dwarves can interact with the magical realm if given us enough of a push.

 

If she does have a major role in the game, I hope at least part of it will be figuring out why dwarves are so different from the other races of Thedas, and what it has to do with their connection to the stone. It's a subject that has always fascinated me. 

 

I dunno if she'll be tied too directly with the Cadash, wasn't it said that s/he was part of the coutorie (I've got not clue how to spell that) or something? Not something Dagna seems inclined to get mixed up in.

Since I've always looked at things from the perspective of Varric being a romance option, I've always thought of race gating to be in the dwarves' favor, but that's a lot of wishful thinking on my part.

There's apparently only two characters out of 8 getting gated, so it sounds pretty minimal  

 

I'm personally a fan of minimal gating, but I know my opinion is a controversial one.

Right, but i mean that i hope that its not just that the dwarves can only romance dwarves.

 

Im sorry, but if they could pull it off in Dragon Age Origins, they can pull it off now. Im willing to accept no qunari, because qunari and dwarves have a massive size difference, but they were able to do human sized individuals with dwarves before.

Apparently the two are race-gated for plot reasons. And we can't be sure which two they are, Dagna, if she is an LI, could be totally into Qunari mages.

Oh I'm already preparing a collection of gifs should the circumstance arise in which Dagna is an LI.

I shall put the two together should they both be LI's.

 I wasn't implying that she was tied to the history of House Cadash, but that trying to understand why a dwarven inquisitor can preform magic or psuedo-magic would be part of both characters stories.
I think you mean the carta not the cotorie and I don't think the Cadash family is overly involved with them.

Oh maybe I did mean the carta... what's the cotorie then? I think I'm getting my dwarven "C" words mixed up. 

 

Perhaps, to give her character more relevance during non-dwarf playthroughs, the fade tear is giving other dwarves weird symptoms as well, like dreaming for example. I'd love to see that plot point play out. A dwarf Inquisitor would then be a nice little extra layer of mystery.
