The ironic thing is that people are whining about getting an equal number of options.
The NPC advisor romances are going to get the same number of romance scenes, and they will have scenes with just them and the Inquisitor without any companions interfering.

Nope, i didn't see any rude or offensive comments here. Just arguing, and that's all.

If that's the case then there wouldn't be a celebration when Dorian being revealed as the first gay companion. Let's not kid ourselves here, if an NPC character were revealed as the gay only option instead, there wouldn't be the hype being generated in his thread and in the media in general. People have the perception that companions are the main cast while NPC are the supporting characters. I'm not gonna lie and say that I was a lot more happy when Dorian being revealed as gay instead of bi. That is why I can understand why people would be upset if the straight options are not a companion. Being a minority within a minority, I would rather make everything equal for everyone. The ironic thing is that people are whining about getting an equal number of options.

Yes, but he and Sera are *the first* as in it's never happened before.
If every main, plot centric, important, romanceable companion was gay up to this point, and BioWare finally revealed the first straight companion and LI, there would be much celebrating as well.
The ironic thing is that people are whining about getting an equal number of options.

Let's not be hypocritical. I read the romance topic, you did,, we all did. Nobody wanted their orientation to be the npc, both straight and gay people. Everyone was talking about Bioware being unfair if they were doing such thing. And if gay people didn't want their orientation to be the npc, it's not just because they already experimenced that with M3, it was precisely because of the same reasons those straight guys worried are giviing right now.

No hypocrisy here. I'm basing my posts off of all previous BioWare games. The number of options in DAI are equal.
You're right. They need to worry about their public image. What kind of image would they send off when they favor the LGBT over the "privilege" group? Especially seeing how homophobic the gaming community is? It's a AAA game, and it needs to at least give an illusion that everyone is being catered to. EA's priority is to make money, I don't doubt they care about LGBT, but money is still a priority. If a game is being perceived as "gay", the "bro" gamers wouldn't want to touch it, sadly enough. That asides, I still don't see how people see it fair when it's all gay and bi. I was upset with DAO where it's all straight and bi, so the people were upset with that setup are willing to do it for the other groups are just not any better than the straight guys who want to be catered to.Let me make this clear. The amount of whining and even genuine complaints that people have especially with regards to romances do not affect Bioware as much as you think they do. The people who complain about the romances in the first place are already in a minority of people who in large part buy the games for the romances between the millions of copies the game will sell. It gets down even lower as you get to more specific complaints regarding romances.
The main part that Bioware would worry about is their public image, and that's mostly about the writing not coming off as sexist, racist, ******/biphobic, transphobic, etc. It helps that this is also important to the writers and devs themselves, and not just for publicity sakes.
Take the races not initially being in for example. The number of people playing as a different race is unfortunately in a vast minority, but Bioware still did it because it was something they wanted to if it was possible with the added treat that there are a lot of people appreciative about it.
And you would be ok if it were all straight and bi instead, right? Good for you then. I wouldn't be satisfied with that.No hypocrisy here. I'm basing my posts off of all previous BioWare games. The number of options in DAI are equal.

I saw plenty of Cullen fans who said that they'd gladly take him as an NPC romance so long as they finally got to romance him at all.
It's always been about the characters themselves, not the status as a companion or a non companion. While I have seen people say that they would always prefer a companion to a non-companion I have also seen people who said that they care more about the character and romance in question than whether they are an NPC or not, and the advisors, even the ones we know so little about like Scribbles, still have their fans.
I feel like a lot of people wanting LGB LIs are celebrating a bit prematurely when all we know is that there are two homosexual LIs in this game. I get that there's this feeling of "NOW YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS" because it's always been us that get screwed, but we don't even know that we're not getting less LIs right now. What happens if it turns out we got our "exclusive" and maybe a race gated bi LI and there are 3-4 choices each for heterosexual characters? Then I imagine all the people being told equal options aren't so important after all are going to laugh in our faces. I don't think some of you are thinking this through. If you want people to continue to support your cause (and we have a long way to go) then laughing at other people for not getting the fair deal you wanted is really not the way to do it.
And you would be ok if it were all straight and bi instead, right? Good for you then. I wouldn't be satisfied with that.
Wat. Of course not.
All straight and Bi isn't equal. That was how it was in DA:O.
I would like an equal number of sexualities, which is what DA:I will offer. Well, there will be more options for bisexuals but there is no way to avoid that without excluding bisexual characters which I am also against.

I'm getting a little worried myself.

They are a little slow with the updates .
They seriously need to announce the next straight (male/female) companions so that the straight people would be at ease.
Or thrown into a rage depending on the results, apparently.
They seriously need to announce the next straight (male/female) companions so that the straight people would be at ease.
I think they might end up announcing the bi LIs first, if not show the chart first

options are equal ok point me to the confirmed straight only options. Ow wait thats right you can´t cause there ain´t none yet.

Implying that we're ALL uneasy ![]()

Nah, they should announce the bi LI next, the controversy is like free marketing at this point...

You are right. There are none yet. All I've been saying is that there is no guarantee that Cassandra (since this thread is about Cassandra specifically) will be straight. It could very well be Scribe Girl.
They seriously need to announce the next straight (male/female) companions so that the straight people would be at ease.
To be honest, I think it was a mistake to announce the homosexual LIs well before the heterosexual options. I would be annoyed if they announced the heterosexual options first. They should have brought out bisexual options first, so that everyone felt included, and worked in the gender gated options from there.
They seriously need to announce the next straight (male/female) companions so that the straight people would be at ease.
Not gonna lie I'm get pretty p****-off .
