If Cass is Bi then that kinda implies Iron Bull will be Bi, so that the two advisers Cullen and Scribbles will be straight. If this is the case, then that means Gay Players will have access to all the party member romances, and Straight Players only access to two.

Patently not true. Cass and Cullen could be bi, or Cass, Cullen, Scribbles and IB could all be bi. We haven't heard of even one romance that will be open to both genders. For all we know, there might be none at all, we may have a 2/2 hetero/****** split (unlikely of course). IF Cassandra is a bi romance it implies that Cassandra is open to romantic relationships with Inquisitors of either gender. The idea that Cassandra being bi would detrimentally affect straight players at all doesn't make sense.

Also, this is a thread of why people think Cassandra is bi, not if it's fair or not, or whether her being bi is *OK*, please remember that. Also, this message is for the whole thread, not just you, but I felt like responding to you as well, and *flails*, I'm not making you a scapegoat or anything.

I pointed this out.  If you want to know why I said you sounded immature and a little homophobic, that's why.

Why does it matter if all of the party member romances are available to gay players and straight players have access to only two that are all to themselves?  It's not like straight men are only getting two romances.  The whole point of this thread was to talk about Cassandra being bisexual.  If she is, then why do you care if she's available to the same gender or not?

Because it's interesting, which is why I pointed it out. Far as I can tell it could be the first Bioware game where gay players have more to choose from in the party, than straight players. It wasn't immature or homophobic, you assumed it was.

That was what sparked that post.

Well just ask me next time to clarify, or question if I think that's a good or bad thing, instead of immediately writing a few paragraphs towards me.

I been seeing from a lot of post that there would be six romance options although others had said more. So far 4 have been confirmed although two of them have their sexualities still in the air.

I think there is a very high chance that there will be one bi-sexual companion but who that is will be revealed when the developers deem it necessary...or they could troll us and neither Cassandra or Scribe Girl is available and our only option will be a Broodmother with a southern accent named Sally May.

She sounds sassy. I like sassy, but not Broodmothers. Ugh.... fighting against my shallowness and vanity is hard!

Anyway, it occurs to me that I haven't explained what I think of Cassandra. I think she's bi, and it's all based on my gut. Go figure. (My gut was right about Dorian, so who knows?).

Let people hope Cassandra is _______________. Because, hey, why not.

I'm all for Cassandra being whatever sexuality that Gaider deems her. I'll romance her as anything that I must.

To those that want her (or think that she is) straight, what do you lose from her being bisexual? And will your opinion of her change?

To those that want her (or think that she is) bisexual, how will you react if she is straight? And will you play a male character in order to romance her?

Nothing and no.

Personally I think she might be straight if the "crush" and "hero worship" line from Varric in DA2 implies anything.

It would be awesome if she was bi, but I would have no problem playing a male character if she's straight to see the romance content.  I'm already planning on doing just that for my second completion of the game so I can romance Dorian.   :D

Think about it. You the brave Inquisitor spot across a field of flowers Sally May hair curlers in her white hair and Dwarf kabob in one hand. Open your minds and hearts that overweight flesh eating monsters need love two! :crying:

Bioware make it happen! It would be something that the community will never forget or unsee!

Also gives us a little more on Cassandra!

Previous comments in a past game doesn't really mean anything about a future character's sexual preference in these games. Remember that time Anders said his dream was to have a wife and roast fools? Then it turns out that Anders is bi... even though his past comments made no such hint at anything other than him being straight.

Agreed. :)

I'm wondering how many folks would look at my life and go, "Oh, she's straight."  I'm married to a man, and have been monogamous for over 10 years.  However, I'm pansexual.  The gender of the person I'm with, nor the length of time I'm with them, nor my monogamy with them, will change my sexuality in any way shape or form.  I may not go around flirting with every guy and gal I see, but I'm still a pansexual.

Also, folks can come out at any time, at any age, without a previous history of having any flirting, sex and/or relationships with folks of the same gender.  Look up the actress Meredith Batxer, who played the mom on the 80s TV show Family Ties.  She came out in 2009, at the age of 62.

I will be sad, but since I haven't played, and don't know what I'm actually missing out on, at least I'll have time to get over it (assuming we find out for sure before the game comes out).  Not gonna play a male character to romance her, my female Inquisitor will just be her best friend and sigh a lot around her.  It will be a very realistic reenactment of what happens in real life when lesbians fall for straight women.

I just hope Sandal is romanceable. I have been nurturing a burning love for him ever since he uttered his first enchantment  :P

Uuuuuuh, I was going to post a pic of Sandals face in DA2 because its absolutely horrifying, but I found something.... more disturbing.

I probably won't.

Heya, long time no see. :)

A kiss on the cheek from around 20 years ago and the words Varric said to Cassandra is not concrete proof of her sexuality. <_<

My best guy friend from high school came out as bi at the age of 20. I didn't know until I saw him kissing another guy. Before then, there was zero signs of it whatsoever. I had no clue, but he was but there he was, out and proud. Did he change somehow? Nope, he was the same guy he had always been. He was happier though.

Why did you quote me? You didn't say anything that has to do with my post.

Unfortunately, I do think that some people will complain about lesbian women getting two companions and straight guys getting only one.  I guess that matters to some people.  It doesn't make sense to me, but who am I to judge?  I personally was fine with getting just one squadmate and an NPC in ME 3, but that's just me (and probably because I really liked both romances alot).

I make no secret that companion romance equality matters to me. Npc's are substandard for the role IMO.

I misread, so that's what the kiss on the cheek comment was from.  So sorry about that.   :(

Now that I've re-read your post, I was apparently agreeing with you.

I'm already mad at the fact that Sera and Dorian are only gay options..................I wish they made those two bi at least.

Fukin game trying to make society happy.

I'll only play male character in Dragon age.. So I hope Cassandra and Vivienne are up to it then.

Maybe I'll play a female dwarven/elven Inquisitor.  But I can only see Sera with a human female inquisitor .

Why not an elf?

(Not that I have anything against Sera and a female qunari or dwarf, in fact that sounds adorable. I'm definitely going for hot elf-on-elf action when I romance her myself, though.)

The only thing we know for sure is:

She has a 100% chance of being available for a heterosexual relationship

She has a 50% chance of being available for a homosexual relationship

Previous comments in a past game doesn't really mean anything about a future character's sexual preference in these games. Remember that time Anders said his dream was to have a wife and roast fools? Then it turns out that Anders is bi... even though his past comments made no such hint at anything other than him being straight.

Funny enough, I saw Anders was gay/bisexual the very first time I played Awakening despite all the stuff he said about women. He came off has someone who was trying to overcompensate the other way (i.e. he had issues with liking men). I also had the same reaction than David Gaider to his look:

I remember the conversation when I first saw Anders’ planned appearance in the expansion.

"Huh. He looks a little gay."

"I don’t think you can use that as an adjective."

"I can if I mean homosexual."

"Really? Is it the hair? The earring?"

"I’m not sure, but he pings like an aircraft carrier."
