I'm all for Cassandra being whatever sexuality that Gaider deems her. I'll romance her as anything that I must.

To those that want her (or think that she is) straight, what do you lose from her being bisexual? And will your opinion of her change?

To those that want her (or think that she is) bisexual, how will you react if she is straight? And will you play a male character in order to romance her?

I will be disappointed if she's straight as she is my favorite companion but I will not play male to see her romance content because I don't want to see how she reacts to a male. My interest is strictly lesbian but if she isn't interested I will just move on. She just won't be my favorite companion anymore. :(

For a while I entrairtained the though that my Andrastian Ladyquisitor might go for Cullen or switch to male should Cass not be available...but the more I built that character, the more definitive it became, to the point that if she can't get Cass, I'll pull the "lonely warrior" card for her (and switch Sigrun to romance Sera, since she's the one planned for the no-romance run).

Mayyyybe I would switch my other dwarf to male in order to get her romance, but I have others playthroughs planned before I get there.

I'm already mad at the fact that Sera and Dorian are only gay options..................I wish they made those two bi at least.

Fukin game trying to make society happy.

I'll only play male character in Dragon age.. So I hope Cassandra and Vivienne are up to it then.

Maybe I'll play a female dwarven/elven Inquisitor.  But I can only see Sera with a human female inquisitor .

Wait, what?  If you'll only play as a male character, why do you want Dorian to be bisexual?  I'm not following your logic......

The only thing we know for sure is:

She has a 100% chance of being available for a heterosexual relationship

She has a 50% chance of being available for a homosexual relationship

This is exactly how I feel about her and Cullen.  I think both are pretty much guaranteed to be available to straight players.  In my mind, the only questions are if they are bisexual or straight and if they are race-gated (my gut is "no" on this, since I suspect the race-gating is a result of adding in 'bonus' LI's due to the extended dev time and they were probably LI's from the jump).

This is what I'm thinking too.  It's also why I'm partially of the opinion that things won't turn out even though everyone'll probably get a choice.

Totally agreed.  In fact, I think Gaider has pretty much confirmed that there will be an uneven distribution based on race.  However, he's also emphasized how important choice is, so I also agree that I think everyone will get at least two options, with some race/gender/sexuality combinations getting more.

I think she will be straight and its equal if she is straight. Straight players deserve options only availble to them.

Strictly speaking, no you don't, at least not anymore than gay players do, which we don't either; DA2 went through just fine.

What you got a problem with straight people. In this game gay people have options just for them. So we should get the same.

That's not really the point. The point isn't about claiming people to ensure that one of the opposite sex ever gets them, it's about representation of a given demographic that had hitherto not been present in the party; if it was just about romance equality, we could keep having all LIs be bi. Straight people, however, are already represented everywhere.

I said Only AVAILBLE to MEN if cass is bi other people get her i want a option just for us. Making her straight gives us a option only we get.

Re-read what Xil wrote.  S/he wrote that neither straight nor gay people "deserve" anything in the game.

And, you can't seriously be concerned that there won't be straight exclusive options, right?  They already said, in response to a question about romance, that there would be "straight, bisexual, and gay characters".  There have, literally, been straight only options in every single Bioware game, even DA 2.  Why, with zero indication that it's being removed, would you think you won't get them in this game?

Well, there weren't any exclusive options for the heterosexual male gamer in DA2, so clearly therein lies the dealbreaker.

Would it be THAT bad if there weren't any love interests who were straight this time around? It's not like there isn't already an abundance of them.

Seeing as Bioware wants to give straight, bi, and gay LIs. Yes it would be bad

Of course it would be bad if there are exclusive companion LI of other orientations but not for straight orientations.

I know there will be optilns but like i said i want equal numbers. Cass should be the straight squad mate its only fair that both sides get a li just for them.

Seeing as there were complains about the lack of exclusively gay love interests, doing the reverse would be no better

Or no exclusively straight for a single gender like in DA2...

Don't really see gender preference

it would feel a bit odd but if that worked in the characters favor, fine by me.

Inclusion/exclusion just for the sake of it feels wrong to me, IMO these should be always in service to the character, not the player.
