The title really says it all. I suppose there's still the possibility of the scribe girl or a rivalmance with Cassandra but still.
Romance wise what if you're a straight male mage who's anti chantry?

It's really hard to say without the full suite of LIs announced, but Scribbles/Scribe Girl seems like the best hope. We know nothing about her, though, so she might not fit either.

What does being a straight male as a mage have to do with being anti-Chantry, romance or not? What is the point of this thread?

I suspect all three advisers are Chantry members, given what we know about Cullen and Leliana, and the Inquisition was formed prior to the encounter with the protagonist. It doesn't seem as though there are any female romantic interests who have no ties to the Andrastian Chantry (if the player is roleplaying as a male protagonist).
Artificer Dagna may be a possibility, but that's pure speculation at the moment.

He's saying that for straight males, the two options will be Cassandra and Vivienne. Since they both support the Chantry, he is out of luck because he hates it.

I think it's safe to say there are more players who are anti chantry than pro chantry (i could be wrong, it's just over all these years i''ve seen way many people against the chantry than for it) and since males are the most played character i would find it really strange if there is not a decent romance for a straight male anti-chantry.

Yay!!! A trolling I will go, a trolling I will go, Hi ho the merry O, a trolling I will go.
Actually, as far as individual thought patterns, wont be covered in the romances like every detail that can be thought up. Its limited in that aspect. The romances may or may not be good idea for some rp'ed characters.

I disagree. It seems to be more evenly split. It's just the Anti-Chantry are more vocal while the Pro-Chantry are more quiet, only coming out when Anti-Chantry people rant.

Ah, okay. I wouldn't let that stop me from pursuing a romance in a game, but to each their own. I guess our lady Scribbles just doesn't count, does she Sasha? ![]()

And then there are those of us that aren't exactly in either category and just watch the two groups bicker. ![]()

Well it means that that character would have two options. Cassandra or Vivienne and they're both pro-chantry and thus would hate that character. I just thought it was worth mentioning seen as how romance options are becoming such a big thing these days :3

He counts Scribbles(though uses the outdated term scribe girl
) as a possibility in the OP.
True. And there are even those in both groups who do that.

Considering some of the developers try to spin it as though disliking the Chantry of Andraste means you hate all religion, that's not really surprising.

To be fair, we don't know if Vivienne is Pro-Chantry. She is just Pro-Circle. That could mean she just supports mages having oversight while having a place to be trained how to use their powers and the dangers that come with being a mage.

I didn't get the impression that Vivienne was pro-chantry in particular so much as pro-mage circle.
Based upon what has been said by the developers, I expect "Scribbles" to be a romance option for male inquisitors.

If you're a straight male mage who is anti-chantry, and none of the romance options fit that bill...I imagine you wouldn't romance anyone. Or maybe your loneliness would cause you to change your outlook.
Or you may just spend a lot of time at the brothels, or having lots one-night stands with random quest givers.

Fair point, In my mind I just always saw Vivienne as a weird mix of Leliana and Wynne. Leliana for the orlesianess and Wynne for the pro-circle, zealousness.

In the mind of a paranoid mage during these uncertain times pro-circle and pro-chantry are the same thing.

I would really enjoy the Inquisitor being able to sleep around like Geralt from the Witcher with lots of different women/men, i always wished it could be like that in DA:O so i could roleplay my Cousland Warden exactly like Prince Oberyn from Game of Thrones.

There should be a brothel in the game. Seems to be a BioWare tradition. Otherwise, I don't think you'd get your wish the LIs, not without one of your partners calling you out for it. I doubt that there is going to be a "Geralt" type series of sexual adventures throughout Thedas.

You can sleep around a fair amount in DA:O and DA2...I have a set of playthroughs dedicated entirely to that. It's my most entertaining one. Got to have a foursome with Leli, Zev, and Izzy, father an OGB with Morrigan, marry Anora, and keep Leli as my mistress. Plus several trips to the Pearl, and a few one-night stands with quest-givers, I forget how many but there were at least 2....
Then in DA2 I slept with all the romanceable companions (have to do it in a specific order), lots of brothel trips, and a threesome with Izzy and Zev. Ended up with Izzy. Don't think there were as many random girls to sleep with, though.
But so far DA:I seems like it will be less exciting, cos I figure at most I'll get to only sleep with half the romanceable companions....
