I hope they reveal their Romance Chart soon. Or topics like this are gonna pop up all over the place.
Romance wise what if you're a straight male mage who's anti chantry?

Yep.
They're giving us great options.
Not really if my only option if I play a straight character, male or female, is Cullen a mage hating ass, Iron Bull, mage hating Qunari, Cassandra another mage hating ass, or Vivienne a stuck up ******. Well that is not good or great options. So if Solars isn't a LI I'm never going to get to play a straight character.

Half of the available romance content in DA2 worked on that exact premise -- "the opposites attract" and all that 'hatemance' jazz. When you disagree a little there is no problem when you disagree a lot there is no way that relationship would work... if you are anti-chantry for example you would hate everything that pro-chantry li stands for so well...

You are S.O.L. and J.W.F. I imagine.

In the mind of a paranoid mage during these uncertain times pro-circle and pro-chantry are the same thing.
Sure, but we don't know what the dialogue with any of these characters will be like - maybe they'll put your (or rather your Inquisitor's) mind at ease. Maybe not, and you (or your character) will like them anyway.
It strikes me that even with the character intros, we still don't know that much about the companion personalities beyond random conjecture, so who knows? You may end up having too many choices!
Or maybe not, but hey.

Hopefully bioware will be accomodating to rivalmances. As previous posters have stated, it's a safe bet that the majority of players are anti-chantry at this point (and I don't think Viv is necessarily pro-chantry, is she? Just pro-circle? Correct me if I'm wrong. Then again, those two could go hand-in-hand I guess). Anyway, the point is, I don't think a romance with a pro-chantry character would be that disastrous. In fact, it could be more interesting to romance someone with opposing views to your own. We may get a chance to change their opinions, even, maybe through a persuasion (or what have you) check.
Regardless, I have a hunch that Scribbles is going to be a very open-minded character. Since she'll be our trade and commerce advisor, she's probably very cultured and has to meet with people of vastly different races, backgrounds, and political views. So even if she is pro-chantry, she'll still probably get along with an anti-chantry Inquisitor

If you are going to play as an anti-Chantry, anti-Circle Inquisitor and play straight Inquisitor your screwed. You would wind up playing an unwilling celibate Inquisitor.

I kinda doubt we can sway pro-chantry people from their views too much. We could romance Leliana, but no matter how you saw the chantry, she stil basically becomes a bard for the chantry.

Leliana?
She isn't romance option. And yes I want to Murder Knife her too. She is as anti-mage as they get and she also is one of the major ones responsible for the butcher of the Elves of Halamshiral. So I'm not broken up about her being tortured by the Venatori.

Honestly with as insane as most of the LIs tend to be this is sometimes the only sane option.

Not every permutation of character and preference will get a romance, you know. What if, say, in ME2 I wanted to be a shep who exclusively banged humans but hated biotics?

I guess as being a straight male that I'm just not used to not being catered to, it's an odd feeling.....I don't like it.

I find it strange that there are people so fanatical they wouldn't want to romance someone in a game because of their religious affiliation, when they haven't be shown to be crazy or even all that religious. It's not like Cassandra is a nutbag, so suck it up and get over yourself. And if you're roleplaying a crazy bigot who is so fanatically anti-chantry that they would let this bother them then I can't see them getting laid any time soon. :>
SERIOUS ANSWER: they can't account for every variable so suck it up.

Weren't both Leliana and Morrigan murderers? Love is blind to religion, politics, and whether or not someone is all that remorseful about being a serial killer. I think it's safe to say that, no matter how diverse your romantics options in this game are, all of them will kind of be nightmares if you spend even a little time thinking about it.

I believe the appropriate reaction is to look at Cassandra, then look at, say, Vivienne (who really, we should all hope is an LI), and then after the obligatory fist-pump for having two super model level women in the party, get over yourself long enough to have some fun.

Vivienne reminds me of the stuck up in high school who tried bullying because I was poor, who then got there kicked by me. Cassandra and Cullen remind me of my extended family who hate me and my brothers because we're half Mexican. So there is no way I will ever like these characters.

Well, okay then. To be fair, you know very little about Vivienne. We've just gotten snippets of information about her. Aren't you doing exactly what you are pissed about by judging her based on first impressions.....?
Also, there is still Scribe Girl, who we know very little about. If she is an LI (which I tend to think she will), she will almost certainly be available to straight guys. Plus, Solas might also be an LI. So, if that pans out, you'll have two options (one male and one female).
