I'am looking forward to seeing some awesome deep roads quests with golems, blight demons and some seriously wicked rifts to close down there. Deep Roads quests have seemed to be some of the more challenging in dragon age and I cant wait to see what is in store this time.

I hate the deep roads so much its so long and boring and nothing interesting actually happens.
In 'A Paragon of Her Kind' I loved the storyline but hated the like hour of traveling and hour of slow combat to get there in the first place. Dwarves are awesome, dwarf storylines are amazing, deep roads not so much.
You think you've reached the end with
In DA2 I though all the lyrium stuff was awesome but then we never actually did anything with it and I was disappointed!
Not to mention no dwarves or cool thaig stuff!! And more annoying darkspawn battles with minimal XP!

Really excited to see what (if anything) they're doing for the deep roads. [All things I say are going to take the assumption that the Deep Roads do exist, which is a leap of faith, however small or large you think it may be]
I'm really hoping to see kind of a layered content approach the the Deep Roads. With the emphasis on material collection in DA:I itself it would make more than a bit of sense for the Deep Roads to be a cornucopia of ores and rare ingredients, with deeper deposits having a greater and/or more valuable yield, but also increasingly dangerous protection. It should be something that pays off to visit more than once in a campaign. Maybe you mill about the areas closest to the surface at level 5, but then at level 10 you can go a bit deeper and recover more valuable materials and loot, and even still there would be places nigh-impossible to spend any length of time at until you reach level 15-20.
And of course, I'd love to see how Frostbite would handle the strange nature of The Deep Roads. They're meant to be very pipeline-line, but also you have these rare examples of massive open galleries within the cave system.

I actually liked everything about the Deep Roads except for the actual graphical design of it. Too many mustard-yellow shades, too bright, too open...what I've seen in that old demo, where the Inquisitor enters a cave and actually needs a torch to see, gives me hope the Deep Roads can be a lot more atmospheric and creepy this time, like it was described in the books.

You're kidding right? What about the Dead Trenches, with that bridge full of darkspawn and Shrieks sneaking up on you almost literally at every corner? Are we talking about the same questline?

Love the dead trenches part, was the first time i really felt like a Grey Warden to be honest. You get to push the line, impress the legion and just murder a ton of Darkspawn, it was awesome. What i want from the Deep roads in DA:I is to see what happened based on our choices in Awakening.

hoping for tilted passages going up and down like an ant's maze when outside of thaigs, the deep roads in previous DA games always felt too samey in terms of layout.
the ones in awakening were a step in a good direction IMO

The only issue i have with the Deep roads and darkspawn in Dragon age 2 is:
1. An almost non existent danger from taint infection (yes i remember Bethany/Carver, but the danger should be much more severe)
2. The awful hurlock desagin.
3. No sense of danger, darkspawn are said to attack in swarms...i never felt swarmed.
In origin my only issue is 3, yes we had the Dead trenches but they still felt lackluster.

I would like to travel into the deep roads and encounter some darkspawn. I'd be curious if they have a different look from what we saw in the previous games.

YES. THE DEEP ROADS. MY FAVORITE AREA OF THE ENTIRE GAME!!!!!! I truly love how you feel like you are deep within the bowels of the earth.
And with these concept arts, I am super excited for the Deep Roads in DAI.

In DA2 they knew that they wouldn't get swarmed because of the Blight thing. Or else they wouldn't go there in the first place.
Same reason in DA:O. Strongest presence are near nests/Broodmothers (don't know if developers had this in mind while making Dead Trenches, but it's logically explainable)
Im looking forward to it too, i also want to see how the Darkspawn design has changed either through redesigns or through the transition to the Frostbite
Not an ingame picture, but still (Hurlock Alpha and Ghowl)

When i said i was not feeling swarmed in DA2 i was referring to the our little trip into the deep roads in act 3, as it has been some time since the blight i was expecting a much more impressive darkspawn presence, what i got was disappointing.
You do have a point about origin though, the archdemon was marshaling the majority of the darkspwan towards the surface so that would explain the empty feeling i got from the dead trenches

If they're in the game, I hope we go with DA II's designs instead of DA:O's endlessly brown tunnels of brown.

Like I said, story related stuff = awesome. I loved Dead Army, all the creepy broodmother stuff, the darkspawn...But to GET there, and from one to the other...its the longest questline, and while its an amazing questline, the combat makes it THAT much longer to be annoying.
Spiders! (walk for ages) Spiders! (walk for ages) Deepstalkers! (walk for ages) Darkspawn AND deepstalkers! (walk for ages)
repeat for 3 hours and you have Deep Roads syndrome...
'I don't care you becomes king anymore just LET ME OUT'
playing as a mage + shrieks = not cool

I feel about the Deep Roads the way many people feel about the Fade.If they're in the game, I hope we go with DA II's designs instead of DA:O's endlessly brown tunnels of brown.
I would download a "Skip the Deep Roads" mod in a heartbeat. If there are Deep Roads sections in DAI, I hope they don't include hours of filler combat in the most boring environment possible.

For one of the next Dragon Age games I would love it if we got to be a Warden again taking the fight to the Deep Roads. The dwarves need a hand battling those Darkspawn!

I love the Deep Roads but I feel that Bioware has never really done the Deep Roads the justice that the Lore has. I could play a whole DA game in the Deep Roads.....And I think there should be one!

If we're inquisitors, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to go down there. What if we catch the taint? We're not grey wardens that are immune to it.

When I was running the Deep Roads for the first time, I was expecting a little more Mines of Moria and lot less endless hallways and boring fights that made me want to gauge my eyeballs out and quit in boredom.
Don't get me wrong, when I finally made it to the lead up to Broodmother, it was creepy as all heck, and the Branka/Anvil fight made me tear my hair out in frustration, but getting there was ... just ugh!

No The Fade, no Deep Roads, no mages, and what next? lol
Personally I love Deep Roads especially in DAO (that ''hounded'' felling xD). I fell the same for The Fade.
I don't like short main missions..
