I would expect something with Anders if he is alive and I can see Merril showing up at some point too. Maybe the Leto/Dorian speculation is true or maybe he will just turn up to cause some friction for Dorian, I could see that too tbh. Bethany or Carver could also show up seeing as the Wardens, the circle and the Templars are all involved in the plot somehow. 

 

It's a shame because the one I really want to see again is Aveline but she seems like the one with the least reasons to be in Ferelden or Orlais. I guess she could have returned to Ferelden or gone to Orlais to look into something about her family but somehow I doubt it.

Not really a companion but Feynreil (sp?) had a story arc that spanned the ACTs of DA2 and I wonder if he will show up in the game or if they meant for him to?

I'm actually thinking that Feynriel might end up being an important side character or even a secret companion. They did too much with him just to let his story peter out.

In all seriousness, I don't see it happening.  It's just gonna feel a little strange without my ritual rendezvous with Zev and Isabela.

One of the things that made me angry in DA2 was having Zevran just show up with no explanation for why he seemed to have abandoned my Warden ... in the game played off my import where he was supposed to have been helping her rebuild the Gray Wardens. So, if Fenris ever shows up without Hawke or without a good explanation for why he's sans Hawke ... I'll be pretty annoyed.

 

I don't really need to see Merrill again. She was cutesy, but that was about it.

 

I'd like to know how Aveline's life turned out, but that wouldn't necessitate seeing her for any substantial amount of time.

 

If Bethany and Carver are alive, it would be nice to know what happened to them, too.

 

Isabela is more or less in the same category as Merrill.

 

And if Anders shows up, he's going to be dying all over again because he'll only be reappearing as some kind of evil Fade creature. I murder-knifed him in every game I played.

I can see Anders, Grey Warden Carver or Bethany or maybe Merrill. 

Those are people I expect to see with the story, but the people I want to see..

Merrill's VA is confirmed to not be returning in DAI.

 

Though I guess that doesn't preclude Merrill returning...

That makes me sad to hear, Meser.... but as you said, that doesn't preclude her from making an appearance (she may up like Mordin situation in ME3 with a different VA, if she doesn't have many lines).

 

Honestly, my own hope is that if.... and I repeat... IF we actually get an appearance by Hawke somehow, then Hawke's LI would also be with him/her during that appearance - they don't have to speak or saying very much, but it would still be nice to see them still together.

 

(and honestly, why the f*** not have him/her show up to some capacity in DAI, given how much of a sh*t-cliffhanger ending DA2 had.... personally, I just feel that Hawke's character needs a better closure)

I think the most likely companion from DA2 would be Hawke's sibling if they ended up being a Warden. That way they could easily be placed in the Warden Keep that's going to be in the game. Clean and simple.

I had always figured that Aveline went back to Ferelden after the heroes went there separate ways.   Alistair did offer her with a job with his guard after all.  I figure with a mage Hawke, they left Kirkwall and then got separated after that, which then led Aveline going back to Ferelden.  

 

With a Viscount Hawke, I imagine that Aveline stayed in Kirkwall until Hawke vanished, then headed to Ferelden.  My guess is that we could run into Aveline in Redcliffe.

 

Alistair is a given, and confirmed to return in some fashion.  Can't have a DA game with Sandal and Flemeth, and they are also confirmed to return in some fashion.  I suppose Isabela might make an appearance, but I would imagine it would be extremely brief.

I would like to see Merrill again as well, or at least have her mentioned in passing. I found her to be rather endearing, and the accent got me every time.

Aveline - loved her character and wouldn't have any issue's with a cameo

Anders - .. For his sake i better not see him again , only reason he's alive is due to rather pissing off that.. bastard Sebastian

Sebastian - Same as Anders , would kill on sight.

Fenris - His anti-mage attitude did get tiresome but if he's change his mind then perhaps? but otherwise No.

Merrill - Not really..

Carver - NO.

Bethany - YES!

I almost got through that game because of him.  Almost.  I couldn't finish it; I got bored about 2/3rds of the way through and just quit.  

I don't blame you. The Great Crystal or whatever it's called is pure torture and the game loses steam after that.

Disappointing final boss too. And I think I quit my first time after finding out about the Zodiac Spear. So easy to mess up, why, why is that, ugh.

The last time I tried to play FFXII, I played Chrono Cross for the first time instead.  It was a much more pleasant experience, except for the 10 minutes at the end with the info-dump that made little sense.  Complete with a boss coming completely out of nowhere, that's inexplicably metaphysical that wants to destroy everything.  

 

ME3 wasn't the first to pull that crap in a RPG.  

 

 

Sorry for the side tangent.  Anyway, I also wanted to mention that as much as I liked him, I hope I never see Anders again.  I never killed him, but I know my dwarf Quizzy would not feel the same as my Hawke.  If she meets him (and knew about Kirkwall, which is likely,) she'll be likely to kill him on sight.  It doesn't matter how I feel as a player, I'm roleplaying the crap out of my Quizzy.  The first reaction my Lady Cadash would have to Anders is to grab her bow and start shooting.

I'd like to see how Isabela turned out, after I gave her to the Arishok and the Ben-Hassrath.

 

I'd also like to see how the Arishok himself turned out. I count him as my secret Companion, because he's a Bro. Easily the most likeable Character in DA2.

 

I'd also like to see if Anders really commited Suicide after I made him slaughter his fellow Mages in the Gallows.

 

I'd also like to see how Sebastian's Tantrum about reclaiming Starkhaven turned out.

 

 

For the Record, I consider that my "Good" Playtrough. Or at least my "Satisfying" Playtrough.

I think a guest appearance by Hawke's sibling, if alive, would be nice (especially if a Warden). The others seem unlikely, other than possibly Isabela or Anders, like Gannayev of Dreams says. I'd say Aveline is 90% out due to the fact she'd basically built a life for herself in Kirkwall. Fenris I don't know, but he would have little reason to show up, as would Merrill.

I don't think the Warden or Hawke wanted to disappear.  Either it was completely against their will or this was so important, they were left with zero choice.  It could have been a case of, "If your lover goes where I need you to go, they will die,*" which is what it would have taken my Hawke to leave her lover behind, or the Warden to leave her kingdom and her position as Arl.  It had to be something huge that caused our PCs to vanish.

I'm glad somebody mentioned Sebastian lol I always saved Anders, I couldn't bring myself to kill him despite being a psycho who made the mage hating situation even worse for everyone tot he point that dai happened, so Sexy!Sebby left to go off to Starkhaven to rebuild. Granted I was already pushing him to be prince anyway and rule but still I'd like to see how that turned out. 

 

Also I'm an avid Gideon Emery lover, I have the hugest crush on Balthier, loved Steve on Tekken, he was even a Candy obsessed thief in the latest Fire Emblem game. and of course he's an obligatary VA on almost every game that has english sounding voices. I even watched Teen Wolf just becuase he was on the show wearing skin tight sweaters might i add. So like a previous poster said I'd just like it if Fenris return, if not for the fact that I love him and him and my male mage Hawke are an angsty rival pair who truly care for each other, but just to hear Gideon Emery speak. My non-existent ovaries would be so happy. I even think that he could somehow work in the plot, be it a stretch, but it'd be cool if Dorian and him had some sort of past. It may be reaching but I'd just love for him to be in it. However at this point, according to Gideon's official Facebook he's said that he hasn't heard from Bioware, so idk. ;_; i'll just hope in the corner. 

 

As for Anders, I love/hate him, love to hate him, hate that i love him, just so many mixed feelings but I'm sure he'll return in some capacity, if alive then coo if dead then probably some abomination/spirited version that fused with Justice since he was killed. Unless Justice found a new host. I always thought it'd be cool considering by the end of Act 3 it seemed like Anders and Justice were now one completely since it drove Anders to do such things and if you do decide to kill him he becomes a Fade Spirit/Demon. Gotta love his VA though. 

 

 

To help fuel the suggestion that Anders might be in DAI however, there is this to note:

 

Could it be Dragon Age Inquisition? I don't know, but here's hoping  

 

As for others, I'd love for Isabela to show up mostly becuase I love her, at least in some vein. Out of all of the companions sans Varric since he's already in it, it would make perfect sense for her to be there since she's a treasure pirate who travels the world. I feel like she's more fitted to be the "cameo who appears for a couple of missions and leaves some form of impression" type of person which is what they tried to do with Zev. 

 

Anyway, sorry for the huge post!

there were early reports that anders (or justice if you killed him) had something to do in this game, and there were also whispers that if you killed anders, it wouldnt be justice but merrill.  I could see those 2 back in inquisition.

 

Fenris wont show up again till the game featured in tevinter or one that deals with the qunari.

 

Aveline I doubt we will see again.

 

Hawke Siblings shouldnt show up again due to the amount of directions their story could take.

 

Isabella might, but I feel bioware has beaten that dead horse enough, same with zevran.

 

Sebastian is kind of up in the air, something involving starkhaven would be the only place i could see him popping up.

 

Tallis, we will probably see her again with a game involving the qunari as the main plot.

I would love to see my past companions and find out what they've been up to since DA2. Its hard to say what sort of roles they would play in the events to come though. It could be just a cameo like when Alistair showed up my playthrough of the second game to say hello before walking off set. I hope its not that but who knows at this point?
