I wouldn't mind seeing Carver/Bethany in DA:I.
Honestly I was hoping they would be companions in DA:I since they were gone for quite a long time in DA2.

See I would love to see HawkeSibling again, but there are SO many variables, not everybody defaulted on Hawke, so unless they decide for everyone and decide to default with their normal look *which I don't mind since I always thought that was the most appealing*, then it wouldn't be hard to incoporate them, especially considering their fate as wardens or templar/mages. Still I think BIoware would avoid anything that has to do with "deciding" something for us, which is also why I doubt Warden and Hawke will appear unless they use some sort of defaulted look.
Personally, I dont want to see or hear anything about Hawke or Merrill aside from a statement that "They are fine, and doing their thing".
I got my happy ending, and i want to keep it.
I dont really care with the other companions.
i would like see Hawke sibling but if dont no big deal.
I could see Aveline make an appearance in Orlais, chasing up the plot thread started in Mark of the Assassin regarding her family.
Fenris might make an appearance if for no other reason that every western RPG must have at least one NPC, minor or otherwise, voiced by Gideon Emery.
Totally Off topic....
We was also in How to Train your Dragon 2, I think is character was seen/spoke once during the movie.
I pointed at the screen and yelled "FENRIS!!!!"
Thank goodness the movie theater was not very full.
Varric will probably mention them at some point.
I could see Aveline or Isabela to showing up as they can't die in DA2.
I'd like to see Aveline, Bethany, and I'd be curious to see what becomes of Anders if you let him live. Which I never did but I'd still wanna know.

I loved Da2 but I'd largely prefer not to see them if hawke's not going to be there. I'd like to retain the notion of my hawke and his Isabela off in trouble together. Siblings could be interesting but appearance would be problematic.
Yeah I actually planned that to for my Hawke but as we get to know in the end hawke and the warden have
disappeared
so I really hope that that gets resolved quickly
its hurting my warden and hawke headcanon
I would like to see Merrill the most I feel as if her story didn't properly end if you didnt romance her, and I feel like she has the potential to be very influential among the Dalish during this time of uncertainty.
I wouldn't mind seeing Isabela again but that might ruin my head canon that Hawke is on her ship.
Aveline I would like to see, as well as Bethany.
It'd actually be interesting if Isabela showed up and you sold her out to the Qunari and she's all brainwashed and a Qunari Assassin.

Doubtful. It's said by Varric that she escaped right after she was captured.
Isabela's by far the most likely, due to the fact that no matter what route you take she doesn't actually die. She runs away with the Tome never to be seen in Kirkwall again, she escapes from the Qunari if you had her over to them or she just disappears to do her own thing after she's finished with Hawke. There's no way to permanently kill her off.
Still, I wouldn't expect anything more than a passing cameo, along the lines of ME2 characters in ME3.

Totally forgot about that tidbit.
But I agree that Isabela is definitely the one to most likely appear becuase she can't die no matter what you do and like many including me have said many times, she's the most flexible character and can literally appear at any given cameo. I'm hoping that she does appear because I adore her and she's been in the last two games, why not throw her in at least one last time?
It'd also be interesting if the events of the comcis had some play in DAI if you have the appropriate world state *Alistair is at least king* but I'm not sure if that's considered canon or whatever.
Honestly, I am ready for some fresh blood. I'd like to meet up with my Warden or Hawke if anything from past games...do not care much about past companions. Morrigan and Leliana were a couple of my favorites, but they have little relevance to my Inquisitor who has no specific knowledge of either. The only thing that'll ****** me off is a dead Anders showing up (unless it's as some insane possessed demon.)
I would love to see Aveline and Bethany/Carver again.
Actually, I just wanna see everyone again, provided their cameo makes sense.
I've spared Anders in my main playthrough but told him to go away ( the " go crawl in a bush somewhere and please die" away).
I wouldn't mind having some bad consequences about it.
But I'm not sure I want to see him in Inquisition if I still don't have the option to punch him in the face.
Anyway I assume he's probably in a bad state chased by people who want him dead.
I hope he doesn't play guru for a group of fanatic mages.
Anders still upset me , whatever happens there's nothing that can make me happy about him.
I don't think anyone else than Varric's voice actor of the DA2 companions has been confirmed as hired for DA:I. Take From that what you will.
I would like to see/hear about most of Hawke's companions but I don't want it to turn into a cameo-fest so, with that in mind, I'll narrow it down to those I'd like to SEE -
-- Anders --
Big part of the second game, especially towards the end. I'd like to see what happens to him/what he does after the game if you let him live. After all, he's hardly likely to kick back with his feet up thinking 'Well, I've done my part', is he?
-- Hawke's Sibling --
I wouldn't mind seeing Hawke's sibling appear in their Grey Warden/Templar/Circle Mage capacity. From my own standpoint, I'd like to be able to speak with a Grey Warden Carver and see what he thinks about the whole situation and where Hawke might be.
-- Aveline --
With her ties to Hawke and knowing what he/she did, I think Aveline would be good to see again. She's loyal, fierce and incredibly protective of Hawke so she HAS to be concerned with Hawke's disappearance. I doubt that she'll simply up and leave Kirkwall to go and find Hawke but to see her involved with either the Templars or Mages at some point during Inquisition would be nice.
As for the rest, I'd appreciate some dialogue about them or party banter. Most the companions from Origins were referenced in some way in DA2 so I think it's more than likely going to happen with this game as well.
Honestly? I wouldn't care if I never laid eyes on any of those weirdos again (Varric aside obviously, and maaaaaaybe Aveline and Carver/Bethany ((although I just remembered the voice acting for those two, so maybe not)) since they don't make me want to stab companion shaped things.)
Yeah I actually planned that to for my Hawke but as we get to know in the end hawke and the warden have

I'm still hoping Varric's everyone left Hawke but Isabela line was true and she disappeared alongside him. With her role in non-canon comic series & popularity(hence chance of cameo) that may not be the case though.
It would be nice to see Aveline in fereldon with her husband Donnic, if she chose to leave Kirkwall
Isabela in a cameo. Maybe at a brothel
Ideally, I'd like whichever character my Hawke romanced to show up and explain/expand upon the "Hawke is missing" thing from the end of DA2. I would assume that if they are not with the missing Hawke then they are looking for her/him.
Basically, Fenris please.
Tbh, I think out of all of the DA2 companion Aveline would be the easiest to do as a cameo and she has a good reason to return in Ferelden
