i agree about the juggernauts and destroyers being very common in gold pugs. it's almost impossible not to see at least one in a lobby in my experience. i feel like i don't see many biotic characters anymore and i love playing biotics. so when everyone is playing juggs or destroyers there isn't much help in the biotic boom department. and if there's a paladin, you can just ****** forget about biotic detonations. ![]()
The state of pugs today. Final count from me, with PC and PS3 results (see OP)

Interesting. How did you handle repeated games in the same lobby? I can see that warping results. Even leaving and rejoining has a high chance of striking some of the same players.
I might record something similar when I play next.

Often pugs are looking for easy to use kits that allow them to transition to harder difficulties, its a shame most of them have no idea of the greatness of the Male Quarian Engineer...Also Rusty you have too much free time, sort your life out scrub!
Imagine if they discovered the N7 Paladin.
Personally, I don't play him either for obvious reasons but imagine the combos that can be created when paired up with the Volus Adept!

That's what got me into platinums, and weened me off of Cyclonic IV crutches in platinums as well.
Now if only I could stop the Geth Scanner addiction. ![]()

I don't see Drell Adepts a lot, and a lot of my Shotgun amps go towards my Venom kits such as the Drelldept, and he's my favorite Drell.

I will be in the minority but paladins, AIUs, geth troopers w/ flamers don't annoy me. There are other things that annoy me more.
On PC, I see a lot of furries (aka valkyrie wannabes), AIUs, TGIs, paladins obviously, GIs and juggys.

Saw drell, venom and adept in the same sentence, in a positive way - liked it instantly!

I saw you use Venom with the Drelldept in one of your solos, and I just kinda got it from there. Venom is the only thing I use on him now. I tried the Wraith on him, but it wasn't satisfying...

Amusing. But I would hazard that if you did a larger sample size, the number of TGI's and AIU's would go way up, and you'd see kits like the Fury, Cabal, and Demolisher drop way down.

Well, at least there were a few Tsent sightings --
Absent friends
Justicar, Ex Cerberus Adept, Batarian Slasher, Turian Soldier, Quarian Marksman Soldier, Krogan Sentinel, Volus Mercenary, Asari Valkyrie, Salarian Engineer, Quarian Male Engineer, Human Infiltrator, Quarian Male Infiltrator, Drell Vanguard, Asari vanguard, Volus protector vanguard.
This is terrible.

Nice post and info.
Juggs and Destroyers are abundant, but I'm surprised the Paladin didn't appear a little more even in this relatively small sample size ... I see *a lot* of Paladins in Gold PUGs.

(I should say these are based on Gold pugs only. Also, I only recorded BSNers choices if I bumped into them randomly.)
Judging by the replies I think a lot of people missed this part.......

Look at the rest of the list- some of the best/most fun kits in the entire game... DrellGod? Slasher? QME? Seriously, people?

He's saying that he did not record BSNers choices unless they pugged into a lobby with him.

Yeah I just saw one while playing Plats all day today.
Thinking about doing a platinum version of this at some stage
You should continue doing this research OP
Regarding both the above comments, I'm tempted to try this again on platinum. I suspect it'll be a lot less interesting though with many more kits not appearing at all, but who knows? The main issue for me is I made sure to stay in every lobby I entered, to make sure people actually used what I saw. That's not so bad when there's any 2 missile glitchers total, but with how prolific they are on platinum I don't think my sanity will survive.
Uhh.. I see way more flamer Vorcha and Paladins than you do.
Again, small sample, there's going to be some flukes. However I do wonder how much of this is flamer and snap freeze kits sticking in our minds more. Maybe if I kept recording, it would level out a bit. However, it took about an hour to sort 140 characters, so I shudder to think how long 1000 would take. Plus, are you basing this on Gold, or platinum?
Cabal tallied higher than TGI and AIU???
There is finally hope in the world
Cabal was the biggest surprise for me. Again, might have been a fluke. Even when I was recording I didn't really notice that I'd seen that many of them. Without wanting to sound harsh though, most of them weren't very good, and forgetable as a result. If you'd asked me how many I'd seen before I'd tallied, I would have put them below the paladin and AIU.
Interesting. How did you handle repeated games in the same lobby? I can see that warping results. Even leaving and rejoining has a high chance of striking some of the same players.

Unless I was hosting I didn't stay in the same lobby for more than one game as a rule. If I did, then I only counted a pug a second time if they changed kit. So if a pug played 2 games with me as an AIU for example, I only counted them once.
Re-read, friend. "Also, I only recorded BSNers choices if I bumped into them randomly."
He's saying that he did not record BSNers choices unless they pugged into a lobby with him.
This. So if I sent an invite, or they invited me, I didn't count them. I did count any randoms that joined us, unless it was a platinum game.
Out of interest, the BSNers I remember running into were Fullspec3D (with a SI/ Mantis), BiggyDX (not sure if he is a BSNer, he had a Tsent with an Arc pistol and a hurricane) and Biotic Pulse (who I think was the only human sentinel I ran into, but can't remember for sure that it was him).
So.. you're too hipster to use Arc nades, Lift nades and Cain mines.. but you have no problem rocking the Acolyte/Fury. Oooook...
Is there a reason you turned into a monkey at the end of that sentence? Ook ook.

I'm genuinely shocked that the Geth Trooper is so far down the list and that the Vorcha Soldier/Sentinel didn't even make the list. Those kits are practically all I ever see. The Juggernaut being number 1 I absolutely believe though. The Destroyer I don't doubt either. I ran into a couple of missile-glitching Destroyers recently. I'm also surprised to see the Drell Assassin at the bottom of the list. I see them almost as much as Geth Troopers.

Interesting read, thanks for sharing this. Similar to what I remember from recent gold random groups on PC. Many of your "extinct" characters are ones that I also never see. Pleasantly surprising that there seem to be some vanilla humans still around, as I have not seen one in quite a while.
Also this:
i agree about the juggernauts and destroyers being very common in gold pugs. it's almost impossible not to see at least one in a lobby in my experience. i feel like i don't see many biotic characters anymore and i love playing biotics. so when everyone is playing juggs or destroyers there isn't much help in the biotic boom department. and if there's a paladin, you can just ****** forget about biotic detonations.
I also have the impression that the odds of stumbling upon a random biotics-centered group have been converging to zero for some time. Pity, as some of the most enjoyable random matches I remember were biotic squads that just clicked.
