If you're not getting killstreaks with Arc Nades IDK what to tell you. Something is obviously set up wrong with your build. Derperus and Geth are absolutely destroyed by those things.

EXACTLY. Two PUGS I was in yesterday asked how on earth I got 2 killstreaks by wave 4 and manage to top the score board everytime. (I played 5 matches with these guys and they weren't exactly bad, just slow). I love my quarian male infiltrator.

I run Cerb. Harrier IV, Acolyte X (for phantoms and shield stripping), and warfighter package V. Simply cloak and shoot/throw 'nades at spawn points.

I don't know. My post was too long, so I didn't read it.

My mental image of you typing up the OP after reading this:

TypingBla_zps17078424.gif

  :P

And as for my guesses, in no particular order:

Harrier.

Acolyte.

Piranha.

Claymore.

Hurricane.

BPP and spitfire unused, due to being the newest UR's, and thus still not unlocked for many people, as well as for being better options available.

Before I turn in, here's what happened with the weapons.

My criteria for recording the weapons I saw isn't so different from kits, in that it had to be a pug, and I didn't count the same pug in different games twice, unless they changed kit. If a pug took two weapons, I counted both, so the total number of weapons is going to be much bigger than kits.

So, here it goes:

1st Place: Cerberus Harrier (12 sightings)

No surprises here. Just about everyone who guessed put it top of their list, and most of the popular kits had at least one pug using it. Not quite the domination of the juggernaut, but it's still out there, draining every ammo box from Glacier to Rio.

2nd Place: Geth Plasma SMG (10 sightings)

Really. Seriously. Stop laughing at the back there. That was honestly the second most popular weapon I came across. I didn't realise it until I tallied it up, you just kind of forget about this gun. But so many pugs were using it, either as a secondary and in many cases as their primary weapon, that it kind of snuck up the rankings. Pugs gonna pug.

I don't think this is entirely a fluke either. I haven't included the extras I recorded this afternoon, but if I had it would have overtaken the harrier....

3rd Place: Hurricane (9 sightings)

Normality is restored, with the ubiquitous caster weapon makes third place. Like the GSMG, it was popular as a secondary weapon as well as a main.

Joint 4th Place: Avenger, Acolyte and Adas (7 sightings)

Another surprise entry with the Avenger, with the Acolyte and Adas being a little less surprising. The high number of Avengers I suspect is down to the number of new players I ran across. Come to think of it, that may be why the Human Soldier was seen so often as well.

Nice to see the Adas appearing as more than a missile glitcher's tool though.

Joint 7th Place: Reegar Carbine, Black Widow and the Tempest (6 sightings)

The Dark Lord came in lower than expected, but still outdid the claymore... Black Widow was the Sniper of choice, and the Tempest was another popular caster weapon.

AND THE REST!

5 sightings each:

Valkyrie, Lancer, Raider, Geth Plasma Shotgun, Piranha, Scorpion

Surprised to see the Valkyrie up so high. Otherwise no surprises here.

4 sightings each

Mattock, Phaeston , Revenant , Typhoon , Eviscerator , Wraith, Arc pistol

If I'd thought about it, I would have recorded how many people actually charged the Arc pistol. It wasn't many.

3 sightings each

Spitfire , PPR , BPP, Mantis, Widow, Predator, Paladin, Geth Pulse Rifle

The next appearance of a common weapon, waaay behind the Avenger.

2 sightings each

Collector assault Rifle, Striker, Saber, Claymore, venom, Locust, Incisor, Valiant, Executioner, Eagle

As if you needed proof that this survey didn't include many BSNers, we find the Claymore, Venom and Saber almost at the bottom of the list.

The "just made it" club (1 sighting)

Falcon , Argus , Vindicator , Scimitar, Disciple, Graal, Crusader, Hornet, Collector SMG, Collector Sniper Rifle, Kishock, Krysae, Indra, Suppressor

The Collector Sniper Rifle was the very last gun I recorded after the first round. If it had teeth, it would have got in by the skin of them.

THROWN OUT OF THE AIRLOCK

Katana, Shuriken, Raptor, Viper, Javelin, Phalanx, Carnifex, Talon

(That's Talon the pistol, not the mercenary IIFlash B) )

Well done to Argent for spotting that the Talon isn't popular with pugs (or at least, before darker forces led you astray). Given the learning curve on the Javelin, it perhaps isn't so surprising either, although I'm amazed I didn't see even one.

So there you have it, more results to celebrate, or shake your head in despair over. I was pleasantly surprised by the range of weapons I saw, rather than just the same old thing over and over. Again, I suspect Platinum will be a very different beast.

Bonus info:

Assault Rifles were by far the most popular weapon catergory, with 70 choices coming from this class.

Distant second was shotguns with 37, then SMGs with 33. Pistols came in with 27 choices, and perhaps unsurprisingly, Sniper rifles were last with 20 choices.

Damn it ! No Internet points for me !

But seriously, the GPSMG ? I guess you have encountered a high proportion of players with a low manifest, as the high rank of the Avenger seems to demonstrate also.

I can kinda understand the lack of love for the talon pistol, actually.

Mine was stuck at II for a year, and it didn't impress me that much, then it went to X in a single month.

It's awesomesauce at X, but most pugs don't have one of those, so they don't know what they're missing.

Interesting that Assguards ,and Justicars are so rare.

QMI is an easy character to play so would have thought it would have been more popular with PUGS

I would expect  that a survey of BSNers will come up with a very different result

This is impressively interesting, nice work.

I'm thinking of trying this and seeing how PS3 would compare to these results. I do know that I don't see juggernauts anywhere as much as I see destroyers and other small differences, but we'll see.

Weapons I don't usually remember, but GPSMG is also common as well.

I'm actually surprised by the Geth Plasma SMG the only thing I could figure is that pugs like the weight and big clip because other than that it's very underwhelming.

Pc, just a couple of games (gold). TGI leads by seven votes.

Leading 6 kits (7 to 5 votes): TGI, Juggy, Shadow, Furry, Nova, Tsol

Next eight kits (all 4 votes): Bat.sol, Demog., Asguard, QME, AUI, QFE, HA, Paladin

IMO it is diferent picture, but the sample size is small too. There is a volus and two drells too.

I remember using it for a long time as my main gun on my casters. Iirc, it is also very accurate which helps with headshots. Once I got the hurricane and csmg the gsmg fell to the wayside.

Alright, I've started tracking PS3 Gold lobbies. Interesting results so far, pretty diverse selection (seen 29 unique kits from ~45 players), but the sample size is still too small for me to feel comfortable posting them. Will probably take notes for a few days, maybe even a week before collating and all that. At this rate, I'll probably see every kit once.

I think Limbs is keeping track, too.

But it is designed around a warmup mechanic and a huge clip? Casters want burst between using their powers, not a sustained period of fire.

Imo that's the biggest flaw of the GPSMG. It's weighted for casters (with damage proportional to its weight) but performs better for kits that fire for long periods.

Seeing so many GPSMGs is quite surprising to me. I still feel that is likely an anomaly. I'll have to keep an eye out.

Not surprised about the lack of Talon love tbh. I seem to be the only person that uses it.
