But it is designed around a warmup mechanic and a huge clip? Casters want burst between using their powers, not a sustained period of fire.

Imo that's the biggest flaw of the GPSMG. It's weighted for casters (with damage proportional to its weight) but performs better for kits that fire for long periods.

Yes, but it was easy to unlock and when you start out thinking that a 200% CD is necessary you deal with the ramp up. Not saying it was smart, just that I can understand why it is used especially by people new to the game. Plus, if you don't have anything to pierce armor you can mailslot guardians pretty easily with it.

Hmmm, I personally prefer the Avenger, Tempest, Locust and Eviscerator which are all easier to get, uncommon or common weapons with low weight. But hey, if something works for you, go for it.

Did anyone mention that perhaps the PUGs hadn't unlocked the URs that were thrown out of the airlock? I mean, I don't have the Talon or even the Claymore yet and the Harrier is in neither of my manifests. Would not be surprising if they just lack these URs.

But yeah, my Shuriken is somewhere lost in space. F**k that gun.

I remember using the GPSMG a lot in ME3 single player -- it seemed very effective.  I even accidentally used it as the sole gun for my insanity final battle Priority: Earth (thought I also had my BW equipped but didn't) & beat it!   So, naturally, I wanted to use it when I first started MP.  Quickly learned from here that it's a scrub weapon.

Oh god, the shameful shift into "weapons we used during single player"

I used the Raptor for the entire game because it was the closest thing to the ME2 Viper

IIRC the Raptor is actually not too bad in SP. With the time dilation that Tactical Cloak gives, you can land every shot on the head.

Oooooh, I completely forgot about the time dilation on infiltrators. That annoyed me so much that I deleted mine after an hour.

I was using it on the sentinel, which was a pretty good fit since it weighs nothing. Aka more leeway to cryo/overload everything and pewpew :]

This is impressively interesting, nice work.
I'm thinking of trying this and seeing how PS3 would compare to these results. I do know that I don't see juggernauts anywhere as much as I see destroyers and other small differences, but we'll see.
Weapons I don't usually remember, but GPSMG is also common as well.

Pc, just a couple of games (gold). TGI leads by seven votes.

Leading 6 kits (7 to 5 votes): TGI, Juggy, Shadow, Furry, Nova, Tsol
Next eight kits (all 4 votes): Bat.sol, Demog., Asguard, QME, AUI, QFE, HA, Paladin

IMO it is diferent picture, but the sample size is small too. There is a volus and two drells too.

Alright, I've started tracking PS3 Gold lobbies. Interesting results so far, pretty diverse selection (seen 29 unique kits from ~45 players), but the sample size is still too small for me to feel comfortable posting them. Will probably take notes for a few days, maybe even a week before collating and all that. At this rate, I'll probably see every kit once.I think Limbs is keeping track, too.

It's good to see this has prompted people to do something similar on other platforms. I wonder how different things will turn out.

No, and it's a good point, although I can't imagine every single pug I played with didn't have a talon.

I think it's something that likely affected all UR weapons, causing many of them to appear less than you might expect. It goes to show just how popular the harrier is: if it was more readily available then we may have seen Juggy levels of dominance.

Yes, I am.

13 unique characters from 21 pugs so far.

But I also want a larger sample size before I post anything. Will hopefully have some results by next Friday :)

Couple of games added to the tally (still PC). Leading six:

Juggy takes the lead 15 votes!

Human adept takes second place 13 votes!

TGI slips to 3rd, 11 votes!

4th and 5th tied: Furry and Nova with 9 votes each.

Shadow slips in 6th with 8 votes.

It still amazes me, to this day, that the average PUG hasn't figured out how OP the Talon is

Me too. By far my favorite gun in the game. So, ofc its like the last UR I unlock, and now is one of my last URs to reach X. Thanks RNG.
