I do it's called laziness. If they make them completely Straight or Gay they don't have to write double dialogs and don’t have to worry about writing pesky things like love triangles. Which as it stands now is an impossibility for party members.
They never did it before in DA2, the scripts were the same with pronouns changed. Assuming you were implying that DA2 actually had "double dialog"
I'm not sure this is really the case. They still have to write double dialogue for four bi characters. Which is just as much as they had to write for DA2. But then they have four other romances on top of that. That's more romance and more dialogue for romance-specific content than any game in Bioware's history.
That's not laziness. It's arguably throwing more resources into something that's constantly been defined as optional content and not the focal point of the developers or writers mindset. I don't have 100% positive things to say about the reality of this, but I certainly wouldn't call it laziness.
Remember when they said Romances aren't a huge focus this time around? I understand that the fanbase more or less decides the marketing, but christ almighty can they ease up a bit?
