I'm trying to read China Mieville's stuff. I'm starting with The Scar and it's pretty good so far.

got one of the barnes and noble classics editions with several of the great chinese texts bundled together.
dao de jing
Analects
The Great Learning
The Art of War
Doctrine of the Mean
Mengzi
I have read some of these before, in other translations, but am excited to read the great learning and the doctrine of the mean, which I haven't
but I will admit that I got it largely because of how pretty it is.

I'm thinking about getting the BN edition of The Divine Comedy. I read it for a class and I actually enjoyed it a lot

I have a few.
The presentation varies from incredibly tacky
to really, really pretty.

I think the cooler, violet color palette they want to associate with certain authors just doesn't work with the whole faux-leather, metallic-leaf binding scheme
stop it you can't make purple look good this way
red works

blue works

leathern textures usually do not react well to secondary colors, stop attempting to use lurid purple shades
though this one also suffers from bad original art
