Why sniping? I mean the OP is biased towards the QFI as the shadow is better used as CQC kit (despite the sniping cloak). Sure at sniping the QFI might be slightly better but otherwise the shadow is an equally good kit.

There isn't a person on this planet that will hit the head of a panicking nemesis 10 times ouf of 10 without a CC power. The claim that Sabotage doesn't offer a major benefit for sniping if you're good enough shot is just stupid - even if technically true - because absolutely no one is that good of a shot.

@ Derbeer, I punish myself whenever I miss the shot. Ofc sabotage/stasis sniping is somewhat more effective even with good aim, but it's much less fun. Well, I see your point, though it's only nemeses that such a big problem on fast PCs, so sabotage is not a make or break.

I think, you will reach absolute zero FPS eventually, or maybe it will go negative, who knows.

If it's a "major benefit" or not depends on how accurate you would have been without Sabotage and your definition of what a major benefit would or wouldn't be.

 

I'm not denying that there is an upside to Sabotage sniping, but I am saying that Sabotage offers the downside to me of messing up my flow as a sniper which slows me down. My accuracy may go up, but my rate of fire goes down and I prefer to go without Sabotage.

 

I'm essentially trading accuracy for faster firing because I'm confident in my ability as a sniper.

 

and because of that the QFI and Shadow are roughly equal in sniping for me(although Sticky Grenade makes the QFI a better overall killing machine, imo).

Slowest killing infiltrator by far, worst sniper by far.

(1) QFI because of Sabotage instant stun.

 

(2) QFI because of Sabotage + Sticky Grenade are much faster to cast than Shadow's powers leading to smaller ttk.

 

However, Shadow is a lot more fun. In and out of combat.

1 A ) Irrelevant (for me). Both are among the few kits who have deadly melee. If you don't utilize that ability you're missing out on a lot of fun.

   B ) Going melee means you're prolly want to equip a shotgun; things can't be more enjoyable than mixing up melee with some Claymoar action.

 

2   ) Shadow is much easier to play, FQI is potentially the deadliest of the two.

 

 

FQI will always win in my book for the simple reason that I prefer to play the game myself instead of having the game play itself whenever you use an ability.

Well, that much can be covered by question 2. Compare them at sniping for question 1, then at CQC for the shadow and whatever you think is better for the QFI for question 2. The answer, in my opinion, is still QFI/QFI.

Lol, I know. It's sad... I wish you guys could see what I'm talking about instead of thinking I'm imagining things But in other news, I think I'll have a new PC after the summer ends...
 

About sniping with sabotage... I know what you mean, I understand. But I wasn't saying sniping with the Shadow is more or less fun, I was merely saying that sniping with the QFI is easier and better. Then if you find it more enjoyable to play the shadow by all means, do it. I would find it more enjoyable myself too, if SS wasn't so filled of bugs and bs...

But the Shadow is alright. And Electric Slash isn't that bad.
