I'm not sure if this topic has already been discussed to death but I've been scouring google, steam forums and ME forums (both old and social) and I've heard that for games such as Borderlands and Dragon Age, there was an option for preloading, however I do not know how many days before the official release that there was an option for preloading.

Now... don't think that I'm raging or 'bawwing' or whatever you call it; I wish to know if and when there will be a Steam pre-load for Mass Effect 2. I really do not want to find that everyone is uh... downloading the game, which I believe is a whopping 15GB? Cripes .

No doubt if this is the case I will leave the game to download overnight yet it would be nice to know when the option for pre-loading is available. I'm sure as hell that no one knows when the date is, therefore if anyone here did Pre-Order Dragon Age: Origins via Steam then how many days before the unlock date was the pre-load available for? 

Atleast then I shall be able to get a good idea of when the pre-load will be available for us. EA Store and Impulse (if I am not mistaken) already have a pre-load confirmed. I'm not sure about D2D, but uh... for me... Steam is the main issue. I'm very certain most of you know how reliable Steam can be when it comes to downloading games on the day of it's release.  hehe.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that I saw a dev say it would be available for pre-load on steam January 25th on the old forum.

i got it with xfire. 9.6 gig d/l but from what i understand i can't install with/out the key, which they're not sending out till release day.

It was up on the last Sunday.

It was briefly available yesterday (Friday), but I got server too busy messages and within a half hour it wasn't an option anymore.

If you are in north america, you can pre-load now. I assume steam will work about 72 hours prior to release time for pre-loads to become available.
