I just purchased ME3 on the Wii U because I sold my 360 so I can't play ME anymore. I was doing the Genesis storyline, building up my story, and made it up to the point where you leave to go to the Collector ship.

They give you a choice to Save Crew Immediately or Prepare Ship and Team. Now, I can't remember exactly, but I do know that I didn't leave immediately because I still have characters who weren't loyal yet, but I do believe I had the ship fully upgraded. So I finished those loyalty missions and I was able to save all of the crew and my team.

But in Genesis 2, when I chose to Prepare Ship and Team, my entire team lived... but the entire crew died. Huh?!!
So I looked online, and if I would've chose to Leave Immediately, Jack, Thane and Legion die but the crew is saved. WTF?!!

Is there any way around this, or is it randomly generated? Is there really no way to save everyone on the Wii U version?

There's no way around it, especially now that you can't edit the saves on WiiU. The Genesis Comics are no substitute for actually playing Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2.

This... just totally killed my whole evening.

Other than the fact that the Wii U Pro controller does not seem built to control this game. I feel so out of sorts. I'm almost tempted to buy a 360 again just so I can have ME back in my life the proper way.

Yeah, there's no way around the choice of either letting some of your squadmates die or the entire Normandy crew(non-squadmates)die. It's a hard choice, but I would choose to let the non-squadmates die than my squadmates. Kasumi and Zaeed aren't in the Mass Effect 3: Special Edition, but you do get the M-597 Ladon, it's not much though, 'cause it's a Heavy Weapon. Unless someone creates a Mass Effect 3: Save Editor for the Wii U saves, it is impossible to change anything in Mass Effect 3 for the Wii U.

Eh, just buy the Trilogy on Steam. It'll be much cheaper, and you can access it on your computer at any time, and upgrade it at any time.

There will be a far greater impact on the story if you let squadmates die than if half the SR-2 Normandy crew dies.

Which squadmates, exactly, does the Genesis comic bump off? I know the ME2 comic is very bare-bones compared to the ME1 comic (the biggest criticism of which I've seen is the inclusion of multiple pages fawning over Liara versus the terse three- to four-word descriptions of the rest of the squad). You can't choose the outcome of Mordin, Tali, or Legion's loyalty missions and your only romance options are Tali or Miranda if male, and I think Garrus or Jacob if female.

Everyone but Miranda and somebody else dies. I forget the squadmate who lives.

I have a run-through where I used a Genesis 1 and 2 save into ME3. It actually turned out to be quite satisfying despite the terrible art.

Don't worry too much. Remember ME3 is where the trilogy starts

Yikes. You have to try HARD to blow the suicide mission that badly if you play the game. Sounds worse than starting with no import.

Edited my last post. ME2 genesis deserved and got a lot more criticism than ME1 genesis.

They both deserved a lot of criticism. They're both completely terrible.

Umm...you can try looking at this thread. It looks like crap ever since they moved the forums, but it is still legible.
