Okay, I'm going to assume you mean well but are misinformed. A- sexuals are not sexually attracted to anyone and have no desire for sex.(I'm not getting to the whole spectrum thing.) But they still have romantic feelings for other people, and experience love, just without sex.( omg love without sex The horror!)

Yeah, I said Shale earlier, but I'm thinking Sten now. High approval almost seems like... love to me. Just not sexual.

Sten would be a good choice for an asexual character. I once read a BSNers idea about Sten eventually becoming close enough to the Warden that he lets him/her polish his sword (no innuendo intended). Since his sword is an extension of his soul, that would be a very powerful gesture.

It was probably the most romantic thing I've ever read.

Sten would've been a very interesting platonic romance. He was easily the most fascinating companion of the lot in DA:O to me.

Hmm, I don't find Cass attractive at all either, but I don't know her character yet. Her personality seemed interesting so far.

Yeah, like I said. Difficult.

I didn't see your post..but yeah what you said..is pretty much right.

The issue is that they still want the romance, but without the sex scene/s. They're a difficult bunch.

To go back to the cake metaphor, it's like eating the cake and appreciating the cake without putting your penis in the cake.

We're not difficult T--T. A lot of us just get sick of the whining and ignorance..

That reminds me, Sten and Shale had dialogue that indicates that if their fates were different (if Shale was still a dwarf) they might make an amazing yet badass couple.

My apologies. I was just acknowledging the alternative option for anyone (of any orientation, really) who can't find someone to love.  ^_^

I don't think Sten is asexual, really. He just comes from a culture that strictly believes in sex only for procreation. Qunari don't believe in romantic relationships and I get the impression they're not huge fans of casual sex, either. Getting in a relationship means the re-education camps for you. He's probably equally asexual to Sebastian. It's a religious thing.

Huh. I never heard that line. I know he calls her Kadan though. Definitely respects her as much as a friendly Warden.

Yeah, I read about the differences before. Sorry if I offended you. I was just saying "closest" but I understand if it isn't exact.

I always assumed the Qun fell somewhere inbetween the two.

I'm honestly not sure if Bioware consider the Qun to be a philosophy or a religion.

There's evidence that one's libido level tends to be tied culture and life experience. A 30-year-old virgin from a culture that has little in the way of sexual expression could lack a sex drive.

Some priests report that after taking their vows and going several years without sexual or romantic interaction, they find they've lost interest in sex generally. And religious orders that have focused on abstinence (not only sexual) suggest that people experience intense cravings at first, but that over time people can find they no longer desire the things they once did.

Well, the people who live their lives only being attracted to drainpipes and bicycles probably get sick of YOUR whining, sooooo.....

That's really not cool. Being asexual isn't the same as wanting to have sex with a drainpipe at all.

Please don't group all asexuals together. Some are aromantic as well.

I always assumed the Qun fell somewhere inbetween the two.

According to the Wikia,

"a term that can refer to a member of any race who adheres to the teachings of the Qun: humans, elves and even dwarves can thus become Qunari. Humans of Rivain and elven slaves of Tevinter are especially susceptible to conversion, although it is not unknown for members of other groups to embrace the Qun."

I guess it's up to how we interpret that.

It's a religion first, imo. With it's own messiah and sacred texts and all that stuff (messiah isn't the best word for Koslun, I know). The fact that it's taken such a hold in a widespread group qualifies as culture though. Just like religions have their own cultures too.

I don't even want to know where that fetish idea came from.

I took it as an insult towards people who identify as asexual.

Yet another reason we don't need another thread like this.

I'm sorry but I don't like the amount of romance options I see so far as a Straight dude. Cassandra is.... not what I would consider attractive(in all aspects). I don't mean to say she is the worst romance option to who ever likes her but she's not my cup of tea. I wanted to hook up with Sera but she's a lesbian. I don't want to offend anyone it's just I want more options than this. Does anyone else have a problem with the current options in Inquisition?

Then you just have to create a female character... Problem solved! You can romance Sera all you want.
