"no sarcasm is hinted or intentional"

Thanks to moderator05 I have changed my ways and my post

It is my personal feelings that people of the straight orientation has gotten the least pleasing romance options overall.

My point being that the romances are intended design to make a almost political point in being the least exciting or aeasthetically pleasing

This meaning a plain female warrior and a office clerk of questionable appearance.

While the other sides get the more pleasing Magister* and a cute tough-girl elf.

*-\+ I donno if this is a turn on :\

Since most male straight gamers*, as we can all agree are of questionable intelligence that don't have any opinions besides hating homosexuals and loving porn.

*this is ok to say since its true

They will, like me attempt to buy the horrible failure that is The Witcher 3 instead of taking the high road and roleplaying an opposite gender.

This will generate lower sales and a commercial failure, since "them" will be busy collecting Witcher sex cards and calling people ****** on call of duty Xbox.

I might humbly suggest adding content for straight male gamers since they make up about 87% of the demographics if we exclude anime dating sims and facebook browser games.

You seem to be forgetting that most of the male straight gamers don't actually care about romance. Your particular group is in the same relatively small demographic as all the rest of us.

Okay, so since you didn't get the chance to answer before your first thread was nuked,

Why do you consider the straight male options to be- and I quote you- "****"?

I've heard lots of people actually hate how Sera looks. As for Cassandra, I think she looks gorgeous.

So, that's what it boils down to. Opinion. I'm sorry that this game doesn't cater to yours but I think the Witcher 3 will quite good! I'll play it as well, if I can scrounge up the money for it.

I don't mean this in an dirogotory way towards lesbians because I'm not that kind of person and I don't want to cause any offence so please don't slam me for this but......... My straight brother plays as a female protagonist so he can romance a female LI and spends the whole game seeing two chicks getting it on. Solves his problem of only finding Sera hot. Slam my brother, not me!

How does it happen that you don't even consider Vivienne? She is absolutely stunning and also, feminine, if that is what turns you off about Cassandra.

Really? What makes you think that they're not interested in the romance side at all?

Most people are interested in Bioware games primarily for the story and that includes romance. Why would the straight-white-middle-class-male demographic be any different in that regard?

I'm referring to his allegedly vast horde of dudebros who'd shun the game for having insufficient numbers of white non-warriors on their dicks. From what I've gleaned from demographic studies, those who engage in romances are still a minority, and it would seem probable that many of the non-romancing players are the ones that our OP is trying to invoke.

May I ask what this has to do with Inquisition?  If you're referring to Heroes of Dragon Age, how do you know if women are the majority of players?  And anime dating sims?  The hell?  Since when does has the DA games ever had such a thing??

I actually always seem to encounter far more female fans of the dragon age franchise than male

Hmmmmm..... I couldn't imaaaaagine *why* you would consider Scribbles' appearance "questionable."

Is it for the same reason why the romance options are ****?

This is just a guess, but she might not be white enough. Judging by his finding Vivienne ugly, which I... er, can't really see.

Well we don't really know anything about the LIs...

I think it's safe to say that we (as straight male gamers) will get Vivienne, Cassandra, and Scribbles (Scribe girl)

It is interesting that they don't have a "babe" LI this time around, you know, one that probably every straight male is at least in some ways attracted to. This time though I'm sensing a lot of let-down vibes and disappointment, and that's understandable.

But they haven't even released the full list of the LIs yet, and I'm pretty sure Scribbles is going to be at least bi, and I'm pretty sure bioware is going to open the floodgates for her character pretty soon, so hopefully we'll know more about her then, but I think your best bet for the standard "hot female pleasing to straight male" is going to be scribbles. Viv's pretty hot too if you can get over that hairpiece, and Cass is hot in a scary sort of "I'll stab you then lick the wound then kiss you" way. I mean, you just have to have an open mind. You aren't going to enjoy the game if you go in with pre-disposed displeasure toward LIs.

Side note: I was extremely disappointed when they announced Sera as gay, as I was pretty sure she'd at least be bi, so I can understand where you're coming from

Oh, right. Can you link these demographics? I don't think I've seen them.

I am shocked that people would play games designed by Bioware without exploring that side of them, though.

This again?

You're entitled to your opinion, but I just think it's silly.

You do know 50% of gamers are female? And that not all of the LIs have been revealed? I don't think Bioware is worried about The Witcher 3 because it comes out next year. Just give it a rest.

This thread is going nowhere. Again.

I'm more disappointed in there being no female mage to romance. Unless Scribbles is a mage or Vivienne being romanceable, which both are not very likely.
Now that I think about it there are no mages to romance for females as well, very sad.

Not to mention painfully, horribly wrong.  I'm a woman and I've never touched a gaming sim in my life.  Nor do I play any Facebook games.  Most of the people I know that play a lot of FB games, amusingly enough, are men.

I'm really sick of this stereotype.

I've been on the forums quite awhile and I've seen a fairly equal number of men and women.
