I think similar to Wynne the Magi Warden was possessed/guided by the Spirit of Valor and didn't even know it. When Wynne describes her encounter with the Spirit of Faith she mentions that this spirit always watched and protected her since childhood. During the Warden's Harrowing -- the most difficult and important point of his/her life up to that point, the Warden encounters a Spirit of Valor that offers it's assistance. If you prove yourself worthy the of idea this spirit embodies it grants you a staff in which the item description notes the following, "This staff seems eerily familiar."

Then the feats the Warden goes on to accomplish have been said to be impossible by more than one person. I think the Warden's indomitable will and prowess in battle is partly due to Valor's intervention. I say Magi specifically because it's the only Warden that can see Valor. As for the other origins (with the exception of dwarves) they could have been protected by Valor when they dreamed and simply didn't remember it. As for dwarven Wardens I'm stumped (LOL), but iIrc all liviing beings, even dwarves, are connected to the Fade. Dwarves are 'numbed' to it due to eons of lyrium exposure.

Thoughts on this theory? Anything I might have overlooked?

A) Doubtful as it's a rather minor plot point. No backing other than out-of-the-box conjecture. The Warden is simply a badass.

B ) This should be in the DAO section, not DAI

My Mage always "kills" Valor immediately afterwards(cause why not lol), and sometimes my mages do stuff that isn't exactly "Valiant" so... no, I doubt it.

I assume the staff is "eerily familiar" because it is a Circle Staff, it is an expression of though and a staff is a weapon; and you remember what the Circle Staves look like. Same reason why the Spirit is a Templar; its familiar.

Not to mention, the feats the mage Warden did are no different from any other warden. Without the Spirit of Valor. Wynne died and was resurrected by the spirit entering her; our warden never died during his harrowing and was never possessed. And if he was, the game would be sure to let us know something big like that happened.

I can't post in the DAO section. And there is no Lore section.

There's a Scuttlebutt section for DAO. Why can't you post it there?

It's a cool thought. Like some are saying, it doesn't apply to everyone, but I don't think there's anything against thinking it.

Hawke waded through hordes of douchbags everywhere he went. Even from the church to his house around the block. Is he being affected by valor too?

Your thinking too much into it. Here's a thought, what if wynne, like connor, accepted or made a deal with a demon from the fade?
