If I romance Dorian: Dorian & Iron Bull
If I romance Iron Bull: Dorian & Iron Bull, Varric & Iron Bull, or Blackwall & Iron Bull

I'm thinking Dorian and Iron Bull would have a ball with the rescue attempt, and who am I to deny them their fun?
Though if I wanted to escape without there being random fires, explosions, and something odd involving a pair of chickens and a wheel of cheese that I'm better off not asking about, I'd likely pick Cassandra and Cole - she distracts the guards while Cole slips in and picks the lock on my cell.

I remember it being stated somewhere that the developers aren't going to repeat the rescue quest from Origins because players didn't like switching away from their PCs.
That makes me sad. I loved the prison rescue. It was hilarious switching up the rescue party to see just what the heck they'd come up with. And having Sten get you out of a cage? Priceless.
"The irony of this situation is not lost on me." ![]()
Besides, it's nice to know once in awhile that you aren't really invincible and sometimes you do need your companions helping you for a change.

Funnily enough, I never realized that you could be captured until my 5th or 6th playthrough..... my ps3 controller died in that fight causing me to lose and get captured. ![]()
My reaction was pretty much "Huh? You can be captured here?!"
I literally had no idea. I always beat Ser Cauthrian(Spelling?) right there, busting Anora out.
I'd love to see this happen again, where if you succeed or lose changes what the outcome is. Being captured or escaping. Would be awesome ![]()

Got to have Varric and perhaps Sera. Varric will say something smarmy in my possible capture

First of all, thank you for your profile Picture. It is greatly entertaining.
Sceond, I think I might go with Iron Bull and Vivienne. Think of the Mayhem!
But of course, if I have it again, I will do what every big Badass Qunari would do: Break myself out. if a little dwarf can do it, then a Qunari can, too.

Did you play on Casual, because I feel that its almost impossible above casual. Lol Not that doing casual is a bad thing, i'm just wondering.

I'm on my phone so I'll make this brief. If we are tasked with rescuing the Inquisitor from any prison and are given the choice of 2 companions, who will they be and what will their banter be like? I'd post my own but maybe later when I get on the comp.
I don't know, but I'm hoping for comedy gold like what we saw in DA:O.

Nope. First and second time was on normal, though I barely scraped by on my first try. Came down to just my Warden and Ser Cauthrian trading blows at the end, and I only won because I was a potion hoarder. After that I knew it was coming and better how to fight it and got 3/4 of my party members through without being K.O'd and then after that I stepped it up to hard.
Could barely make it on hard though. Often came down to just one or two of my team not getting K.O'd.
I've only once managed to clear it once on nightmare, and that was with my OP Bloodmage/Arcane Warrior Warden. They could barely hurt him and I could just paralyze all the grunts with and take them out one by one.
I never touched that build again though. Steamrolling everything was too boring for me. Lol.
More on topic I'd like to bring Varric and Solas (if I'm a warrior) and Varric and Iron Bull (if I'm a Mage). I know Varric would be able to turn it into a funny story
Varric: And then, using nothing but a nug and a pair of golden spectacles, we broke the Inquisitor out of jail
Solas: ....... I remember it very differently. There was a lot of running from angry guards.
Varric: you just weren't paying attention to the good stuff.

I want a new variation. The inquisitor has unfortunately locked themself in their own dungeon and can't remember where they left the keys. Choose two companions to mock them resoundingly while everyone else goes looking.

Cassandra can bash anything with her shield.
So Cassandra.
Cole can turn invisible if you need to be more subtle.
So those two if I really wanted to be rescued.
For the Lolz the Iron Bull and Sera , probably.
Guard: Uh...what are you two here for?
Iron Bull: We my good man are performers, my diminutive companion here juggles knives while I throw her a few hundred yards through the air.
Sera: (glares at Iron Bull)

Cassandra: I swear to the Maker, when we find him, I'll kill him myself. Of all the hare-brained, lunatic ideas he's had, going and getting himself captured is the last straw.
Varric: Now, now, Seeker. You have to be more careful of getting so worked up about him, or people will start to talk...
Cassandra; *blushes* I...I'm sure I don't know what you're referring to.
Varric: Uh-huh.
Cassandra: Oh, shut up. Let's try this way.

Cassandra: Whatever for?
Inquisitor: I thought maybe we could use these again... Tonight. In private?

Varric: "And so the grand escape ended with the Seeker murdering the Inquisitor, dooming Thedas..."
Cassandra: Varric!

It's pretty easy even on Nightmare, especially if you run out of the room and deal with Ser Cauthrien alone. Staying in the room is very do-able too, if you understand the game well and have the right party.
I would never ever under any circumstance allow my character to be captured without a fight, so I hope that there won't be a 'you are captured' cut-scene which can't be avoided.

Seconding Iron Bull and Varric.
I want the least subtle rescue possible, thanks.
Yeah, screw subtlety. I'd go with Iron Bull smashing things and Vivienne blowing things up.

I've got a green glowing hand. I'll open the fade, walk in and then walk out the other side of the bars.
That fade-scar can do more than just glow in the dark.

Why only two? You have room for three companions in your party! As such, I'd go with Cassandra, Vivienne and Iron Bull.
*Hiding in bushes*
Cassandra: There are a lot of guard. We must plan this out carefully.
Vivienne: Yes, this requires a tactic so dastardly clever that I won't need to have my boots polished free of dirt when we're finished.
Cassandra: Wait, where's Bull?
*Cut to Iron Bull charging the gates, cutting down guards as he goes, while laughing maniacally*
In my head, Iron Bull is Zaraki Kenpachi ![]()

It happened once in Dragon Age: Origins, and then we break out of a (kind of) prison in Awakening, and then they came up with a significantly shorter, different kind of prison scene that's only in the DA2 DLC where we also rescue ourselves.
How is that obligatory?
