Romance options- not feeling the hype

I reckon just by looking at all the recent threads here I'm in a small minority who doesn't really care for any of the new romance options in the game. Not whining about any of them really, none of them on what I have seen so far have caught my attention. Then again even though I do enjoy the romance aspect of these games it's not the main reason I play them. I romanced Leliana in DAO. Honestly the only romance option I enjoyed in my DA experience and was slightly disappointed that she was unavailable for DAI but perhaps this is for the best, lets give the new characters a turn and I can assume that she is still romantically attached to my warden... in some way *shrugs*.

Soooooooo from the looks of things I will be forever alone in my DAI experience. Anyone else feel this way, not really too pushed about any of the new LI's in the game? I will still enjoy the game no doubt, romances are a nice addition to the experience but not that big of a deal breaker for me. Not sure if pointless thought is pointless just curious if others feel this way too? Maybe we can be forever alone together then!  :P

Lots of other people are, yes. Thankfully, you wrote your post more respectfully than most of them wrote theirs.

But don't be so certain. You shouldn't plan out the romances so far ahead! Once you play the game, you might find a character worth pursuing.

Don't feel this way, and this probably didn't need to be a thread.

We don't even have all of our romance options confirmed yet, so maybe delay any potential disappointment in your lack of choices until you can see for sure what your choices actually are.

Well there's one romance I'm looking forward to...It's Dorian.

But I really want to play female first, and I'm not sure there's a romance I want to experience with my mage.

On the bright side there's like 12 companions/advisors and it seems quite a bit of content , I guess there's some cool friendship in DAI...and even if my mage is forever alone .It won't be that forever alone.

And maybe playing the game I will change my mind.I'm picky with romances anyway. But sometimes I can really like some stupid details about a character.

Aye very true, perhaps I will be eating my words in a few months! :P

My pointless whining needs to be heard tho. ;)

Was curious is all.

Well, it's a good thing that the game is not focused on romance. There's so many other things to do.  :)

I feel the same way. I might romance Sera for the heck of(hell I'm even considering Cullen out of pure desperation) it but I am no where near feeling the kind of excitement I felt for Isabela before the release of DA2 or even just Leliana when I saw the sacred ashes commercial for the first time.

Dorian was the only one I was somewhat interested in but I'm going to be playing as a female inquisitor so that's not an option. I will definitely in a 2nd play through though out of curiosity.

I'm just holding out for Leliana talking about my warden, whether its good or bad, that's all I'm looking for romance wise ...

Let's be honest, most straight male gamers like myself only care for the sex and not the romance.

I've never understood planning out romances (or dismissing them) before the game's even out.  The characters might look better or worse in motion.  They might have irritating (or brilliant) voice work.  Their plots might be terrible (or intriguing).  We just don't know yet.

Not to say that your opinion is invalid at all, but I like that Bioware is trying to make their LI options as varied and unconventional as possible. Makes the world more interesting imo :P

This is the fourth thread in the last 12 hours complaining about romance options.

Is it because it's the 4th of July? BBQ, fireworks, and romantic disappointment.

I love Dorian. He actually looks like he could pretty easily turn out to be my favorite romance of the series so far, if things don't go horribly wrong. His appearance and basic personality seem spot on for me, though.

Solas is not exactly my type physically, but I feel like this is one of the rare cases for me that a character's personality makes up for a lot in the looks department. He seems amazing in the regard. So, I could see something working with him.

Cullen is less pretty than I was expecting in the most recent stills, which is kind of a let down. I'm not sure where I stand on him anymore, but I feel like he'd be the sappy romance and I sort of like that, so I'm open to consideration.

I only know one of them is available to me, though, so it's possible I'll only ever romance Dorian. It wouldn't be a big shock, in of all the other Bioware games I've only romanced one character. I'll be more surprised if I do end up romancing another option at this point.

I'm not feeling it either, but I don't judge till I play.

Tbh, Leliana did nothing for me when I first saw her, twas till I got to know her that she won me over, so who knows, the same might happen here.

I'm totally ready to be forever alone though, but I won't be cancelling my preorder just for that. :P

Yea, you can't really dismiss or plan ahead without properly knowing a character, sometimes they look like they'll hit the right spots for you but end up being annoying, and sometimes it's the other way around.

Seeing as I'm British, we are just sitting there in the corner right now with our cups of tea.

I'm quite happy with them so far.

Dorian and Sera are looking excellent, and I look forward to romancing them. I'm not a huge Cassandra or Cullen fan, but I'm still going to give them a whirl, might become one now that they have more attention in DAI. It'll be interesting to see their stories and romances.

As for the others, either Vivienne or Scribbles will be an LI (hopefully bi), so I'll be happy with that too.

If Solas or Iron Bull is the male bi LI, even better.

I've been pretty okay with the romance options since Cassandra was confirmed as an LI.

I find myself being in the same boat the announced romances I don't find interesting at all.  And what's left, I'm just hoping for Varric for my Female Dwarf Warrior, while my Necromancer Mage will likely be alone, Morrigan would work with him but I don't see Vivienne working, and I have no interest in romancing Dorian or Solas.

I feel you, I  can't look at any of the characters and decide immediately who I desperately want as my LI, confirmation or no confirmation, as some others here already have.

I find it hard to feel that way about the characters without experiencing their voice-acting and personality. Also doesn't help that there isn't a male character that totally titillates my interest by appearance.

But that's not a bad thing at all, I am very optimistic and excited. If Bioware managed to make me fall hopelessly in love with turians, much to my own surprise, I'm sure these Inquisition romances will be more than amazing.

Not feeling the hype? What are you expecting exactly?

You've got Iron Bull if you like big guys. Dorian if you like fancy guys. Cullen if you like dramatic guys. And maybe a fourth.

Or you've got Cassandra if you like big girls. Vivienne if you like fancy girls. Sera if you like funny girls. And probably Scribbles as the fourth.

Gah I really hope Iron Bull is a non-romance, I just nope, would rather not. Would prefer if he remained a non romancable companion but fan service will prob make him a bi-option. Hope I'm wrong.

Honestly like I mentioned in my original post non of them from what I have seen so far have tickled my fancy. I'm not on the hype train.
