First unlocked & used - Asari Vanguard. Was amazed, still like that character a lot.

Originally disliked - many, mainly due to lack of understanding of what to do with them. First that comes to mind is the "boring Drell Adept knock-off" (Slasher). I was very wrong, he´s one of my favorites now.

Like a lot less now: N7 Destroyer. Have not touched that one in ages.

I have no frickin' idea. That was over 2 years ago, man! I barely remember my last match.

If I had to guess, I'd say Geth Engineer. That was my go to kit for a long time. Then, I unlocked the QMI and loved him more.

Kit that I couldn't get used to at first was the Asari Valkyrie. Until I realized you just play her like a Fury and when you get in trouble, tech armor all the things. Or TA, AF, Warp all the things.

Don't like now: GI. Don't taze me, bro.

Same here. She was awesome back in the demo-days!

I never really disliked any character and didn't have any problems playing each one. Sure, some kits required a little more experimentation to figure out ways to make them work for me. But in the end my amazing Krogan intellect and problem-solving capabilities always prevailed (read: give everyone a Claymoar) :D

I never liked Infiltrators much (too easy and too deadly). The Kroguard and Puggernaut are near-invincible which is something else I don't like. I prefer to play a squishy kit and go rambo - using their speed, agility and powers to stay alive instead of being a brain death tank who can make mistake after mistake without consequence.

The only thing that took me while to get comfortable with was the Jav. At first I got cancer from the fire delay, but once I got the hang of it it quickly became my second fav weapon in the game.

First non-vanilla character I unlocked was AIU from one of the present packs.

I really sucked with the Volus Adept when I first tried him out and I didn't played him for months. Now I really like him.

I believe the first non-vanilla for me was the Asari Vanguard ... I thought she was completely bad ass.

As for 'dislike/now like' - not that I disliked them, but the Drell were a bit of an enigma to me at first ... I really enjoy them now though. It also took me a while to be moderately competent with the Turians - I always wanted to dodge everything.

Some kit from the Resurgence DLC, as I started playing before the Rebellion DLC was released.

I know it wasn't the Batsol and Batsent, those were the last kits I unlocked before Retaliation DLC game out. I think it was a Geth Engineer or Asari Justicar.

OP, by "Vanilla Kits" are you referring Alliance Human kits only or original launch kits, including aliens? I consider all original launch kits "Vanilla Kits" as they game with the game, just like the guns and mods.

1st non human kit I got was the Asari Commando or Asari Vanguard, I can't remember, all I remember is using Stasis and a Carnifex to snipe foes. Cerberus was a joke with Stasis back then.

HS + Avenger. Same as every single player mode.

Disliked Quarian Male Infiltrator and Engineer. Guess having a Grenade Capacity plus it being maxed in very recent days was all I needed?

Sinful, that's definitely a vanilla kit. Try again.

Iirc my first non vanilla kit was a Krogan. I want to say Krosent but it was a very long time ago so I don't exactly remember.

Originally disliked and then got good with- Smashbro. I'm generally not that big a fan of squishy CQC kits so the Smashbro has been gathering dust ever since I unlocked him. Then a few major changes happened: Reckoning gave us the Geth scanner which turned smashing through walls into easy mode and I L2P.

Got good with and then discovered it didn't fit my playstyle- All vanguards except the Cabal.

Drell Adept is my answer to both questions.

Incidentally, it was also the first character of any kind I ever used.  Since I unlocked both the Drelldept and the Juggy in my starter kits, it took me a while to start using the vanilla kits at all.

I remember well. My first uncommon character was the Turian Sentinel.

I used to stay as far away from Drells in general as possible. Back in my scrubbier days, I absolutely, positively needed 6 in Fitness and Cyclonics to feel comfortable. 450 shields on Drells didn't float my boat. That changed when I unlocked the Assassin. Love this guy.

I can barely remember what class I used last time I played ME3, you expect me to remember that?

Uh... considering this is two years ago, it might be wrong. Anyway, the first kit from DLC that I recall using is the Geth Engineer. It's one of my favourite kits actually, sucked with it in the beginning though (was a little more squishy and cover reliant than I was used to). It's one of the few characters I miss having, as the RNG Gods have not deemed me worthy of receiving it on the PC yet.

As for the character I thought I was getting good with... probably Geth Infiltrator. Even with the auto aim on consoles, getting headshots was difficult (for me) so a shotgun infiltrator didn't work out as well as I'd have liked. Using a sniper rifle was even worse, haha. Funnily enough, most of my PC characters are shotgun toters, smart choke turns some of them into sniper rifles for those big maps like Giant and Condor.

I'll never forget my first... Turian Sentinel. It was fantastic. Dat Turian...

I originally disliked the Goonguard because our first time was pretty awkward but now I feel more comfortable with him.
