I like it when they do more things that don't necessarily fit with modern fashions. Mustaches have been popular on and off throughout history; they've only (relatively) recently fallen out of fashion in the modern age.
I hate Dorain facial hair

Dorian just isn't good looking, period. It's not his mustache or hair. He just is not attractive.

You and I seem to be opposites OP. I thought Steve was bland in ME appearance-wise, but he had such a great personality that I went and made a Shep just for him. I like the way Dorian looks. I was disappointed that he was m/m only; however, if he is as fun as he is described, I will probably make an inquisitor just for him as well.
I'd advise you to be patient and wait for the game; he could surprise you and end up being your favorite LI.

I'm with you OP, that mustache is just way too goofy/ugly for me. It looks like something from a children's cartoon about a French waiter or one of those meant-to-look-fake fake mustaches you stick on yourself for Halloween or whatever. I'm happy for the people who like him that get him as a LI, and I think every other male companion (not Cole) is great looking so I'm sure I will get an option that I like too. ![]()

yeah, that's the only thing that I don't like in dorian, that moustache (on the contrary, blackwall's beard seems hot to me). I'm really hoping we can get a replacement mod.

For anyone asking for a mod: Frostbite is notoriously hard to mod and the DA team stated that they aren't releasing a DM Toolkit at launch. They also stated that they might never release one at all for this game. While yes, there is plenty of mods for DA2 without a toolkit, this is a different engine altogether. If you want to mod away a mustache or just about anything else, you could be in for a long wait.

I prefer the stache. He looks better. Can't find a picture of him without the stache except for this. I try to imagine the non-aryan version without the stache, and it would still look odd.
You know, after seeing this I do think he looks better with a mustache. But I still don't like the one he has. maybe he should just trim it up a bit?
Note: I do still hate the mustache with all my heartguts.

Oh man, I hate the stache, too. Like, hate it on such an intense level
It's like someone enjoyed Movember so much he decided to not stop. It's like Errol Flynn in a video game. It's like a creepy guy in his 50s hitting on my friend in a gay bar.
And so yeah I'm disappointed that means my inquisitor will likely have only one option. But astonishingly enough I have yet to feel the urge to create an entire thread about how unhappy that mustache makes me
Plus some people LOVE the stache, so heck, more stache for them!!!

in fact I dont think i can romance him becuase of that ... might seem shallow, but thats me, he does not seem very attactive to me, on the other hand, steve, kaiden, vega, def male shep all look handsome (Steve is insanly hot)
in fact dorian is a turn off for me, and I wanted a nice gay character in DA:I so bad ... this is killing me, in fact I'm SHOCKED how much this is actualy bothering me : /
will their be modding option for PC DA:I at launch?
Your grammar hurts my eyeballs.

I don't hate the idea of his facial hair, but the low-res plastic-looking chunks that bioware call "hair" are killing it.
Hopefully the "finished product" version of Dorian will look better ![]()

I assume if he didn't have a mustache, they'd have changed the contours of his face a bit. I've noticed that almost all the dudes have growths.
Iron Bull - eyepatch, puny beard
Cullen - stubble and scar
Varric - stubble
Blackwall - full beard
Dorian - mustache
I think someone in the art department has a thing for face fuzz. They probably find it manly.

Bioware has never been very good at facial hair. DA2 was worst since all the mustaches and beards looked fake
Like the characters had glued them on their face.
I'll never forget this guy from DA2. Always cracks me up.

DAI too seems to suffer from this, though it's not as bad as in DA2 but still, you'd think with an engine as powerful as Frostbite they would be able to make the facial hair look nice.

BioWare noticed that the majority of players were dissatisfied with hoods/hats/helmets, so they decided to make them more appealing by increasing your desire to cover your companion's head.

But, but, but....videogames are about kissing boys with facial hair!
well, mostly.
I'm sure a mod will be available and if Cullen is Bi you can have the blonde templar with the sexy scar in your inqui-bed. Or solas, who doesn't have any kind of hair.

Ugh and the facial hair in SWtOR is even worse, especially when it's brown. You can't unsee two cat turds squished onto the character's upper lip.

I think the facial (and BODY) hairs appear to be fine in the Frostbite engine.
I also appreciate the realistic scars some of the men have.

I loved that mustache. All he needed were those dorky fake glasses and a sign that said "Not The Templar You Are Looking For".
