I prefer the stache. He looks better. Can't find a picture of him without the stache except for this. I try to imagine the non-aryan version without the stache, and it would still look odd.

I'm going to need to see your research.

Glad I'm not alone. I can't tell if it's for comic relief or unecessary "extravagance" like Vivienne's clothing, but his wacky facial hair is really unappealing to me.

You aren't worthy of him and his facial hair.

He's better like this.

Apologies for bringing this thread way off topic. Bottom line is Bioware makes all the homosexual pixels ugly! But in the end, he's not a stereotype like Zevran, and I actually have hopes for Dorain (sp?) as a character, regardless of if I want to **** the dude or not. If I want to have sexual experiences using my computer I'll go on omegle or something.

Huh? Why the **** is my Hawke wearing Anders' clothes?

On Topic:

I think Dorian's moustache looks absolutely great and the guy would be way less attractive without it. Dorian is the most handsome male character so far (except for Varric maybe)and he definitely beats Cullen or any guy from the previous games in my book.

BioWare noticed that the majority of players were dissatisfied with hoods/hats/helmets, so they decided to make them more appealing by increasing your desire to cover your companion's head.

oh my god
-
He does look worse without the mustache, IMO. He has a face designed for that thing. Lots of people look better with facial hair. That white Vivienne 'shop would look better with a fashion mustache. But wouldn't white Vivienne look even better as a beautiful woman of color with no mustache at all? Yes. That same question could be asked about Dorian, and the answer would be just the same. Dorian doesn't need to remove his mustache so much as grow a beard. But I am not the boss of him and he has to find his own way.

God bless

In any case, it won't be long after game release that we will be into Movember

(November: the men's health moustache growing charity month)

So I will be joining Dorian and many other mo bro's that month who will be growing 'mo's'

www.movember.com

I think we should leave Dorian be, there are far too many hair raising threads... Dorian is cool.

Okay, what's with the pale skin tone and blonde hair being included as an "improvement"?

It's one thing to remove facial/body hair but a whole new level of wrong when you're whitewashing him.

There's no hair dye in Thedas. Nor skin bleaching.

Razors are fine but making him pale and blonde is crossing the line.

I love how people are forgetting that attractiveness is very subjective.

Some people find the mustache a total turn-off at first glance. That's fine. To be honest, I am a culprit in that regard too as I love facial hair but prefer it to be trimmed to a stubble rather than have mustaches or beards.

However, as we got more info on him and saw him in action, I found him to be increasingly attractive. Right now the mustache doesn't stand out anymore and I find him to look handsome as all hell :)

Cullen and Varric are hot pieces of ass too just saying.

Frankly I dont give a tiny rats ass how much you hate someones character design and how much you are gonna mod him when you get the chance.

That is your tiny problem so is this hate topic really necessary tarek? Well?

I dont care for his look or Vivienne's for that matter.  Both their looks seems excessive to me - like the cultures they come from - Orlais and Trevinter. Having said that I hope both characters turn out to be interesting and engaging. I personnally hate the over-the-top type which is my fear for these characters.

Keep my Dorian nice and dark olive skinned complexioned with the stache. Thanks.

I prefer Dorians looks over most of the DA guys tbh. He's so handsome in an exotic Mediterranean way. I love it!

Yeah, I'm not down with that either, and neither are the devs. They have already addressed the white washing issue.

He's not white, and honestly I don't think he looks better as white either.

Every time I look at the moustache, I like it a little more. It's growing on me  :D

And hey! Forget the moustache - if nothing else, he has pretty eyes!

I... don't understand why there is a thread about this. What's next? "I don't like blue cheese so my Inquisitor shouldn't have to eat at the banquet/we should be able to mod it to be Cheddar?"

I get that people have personal likes and dislikes, I really do. And that's why I understand that there is never going to be a character with universal appeal. I realise it's upsetting when that character is one you had high hopes for, but in the grand scheme of things looks are a very trivial thing, and either the character's personality will allow you to overlook that, or you choose one of the other available characters.

I'm not put off by any of the potential/confirmed LI's in this game, I'll admit. I've liked pretty much all the available options except Merrill, if I'm honest but I think that if  Bioware continued to pull out characters with the same looks and the same stories, well, I think it would get stale.

WAIT. Did you mean Dorian or Dorain? Dorain Yates? Last time I checked, he didn't have facial hair:

Being a body builder he's unlikely to have -any- superfluous hair

That man is frighteningly developed. I didn't know humans had that many muscles, and I'm sort of glad that mine are hidden beneath a layer of cheesecake and bad decisions

I have to agree, as I don't find him particularly attractive either, and it is almost entirely down to the facial hair. Fortunately Cassandra more than makes up for him. A bit disappointing to be faced with another Bioware game where I vastly prefer the female LI's, but having one to look forward to is better than none.
