The reason why your threads are being locked is because you're harping on the same thing in a variety of different locations.  At this point it's moving into axe grinding.  Sorry you're not happy with Dorian's look, but that's Dorian's look.  You can either choose to give it a go despite that, or not.

I've seen your posts (in several different locations....).  Seeing and reading them isn't a mandate for executing on them, unfortunately.  I'm certain there are other people that feel the same way as you.  But this is the look we're going for for DAI.

1- giving my opinion is not "harping", and yes I guess I have to find a way to change it like I did to Zevran np : /

2-like I said I made no demands, just wanted to let Bioware know that I hate their character look choice, first dedicated gay character in history (will not counting steve) and we get Posh/Mario bros hybrid :'(

I don't remember seeing a single game that had a LI who was physically attractive to me; let alone a s/s LI. Blackwall's the closest one I've got and even he appears to be too thin and lacks the LI-status. Yet you don't see me complaining.

Before I've simply adapted to what was offered and that was enough and even fun. It's going to be the same thing again. The way I see it, Dorian and IB are only improvements to what we have had.

Completely off-topic: I just had to give up my Dorian-like haircut due to the compulsory military service starting tomorrow.

and your crazy..... military cuts are hot :P

of course they wont let you look like some evil cliche french villain :D

I'm 100% sure removing his joke facial hair would take less than a Milli second

I understand you have preferences, but perhaps don't call it a joke or ugly? Lots of thoughts have been put into the creation of this (evidently much beloved) character, and as others have stated, it's only a part of him. A very sexy part of him.

But they don't want to change his face. Why should they, just because people want it?

Expecting them to do something just because you want it to happen is the definition of an entitled fan.

You can ask all you want, but they aren't doing it. Period. You're wasting your time.

You are "harping" on it because you keep creating threads about it.  If you had just created a single thread, then you wouldn't be "harping" on it.  But, because you didn't get the reaction you were hoping for in this thread, you went a created a duplicate thread in the suggestion forum under the guise of it "having a different purpose".  Then, when that one got closed down for being a duplicate, you waited a day and then created the exact same thread in the exact same forum where it was already closed down.  That's why you are "harping" on it.

Combine that with the fact that you continue to express your subjective opinions as facts and presume to speak for all gay men (regardless of the dozen who have posted in this thread refuting your statement).

We get it.  You don't like Dorian.  Okay, so romance Cullen if he's bisexual.  Or wait until a Dorian mod comes out and use that.  It's silly to think that, with only 3 months left until release, they are going to change the appearance of one of the companions because some guy on the internet doesn't like it.

Yeah.  I think anyone that wishes for any sort of big face mesh mod needs the best of luck.  We'll be fortunate to have mods to change our armor colors.

His mustache and overall metrosexual look are pretty cliche.

I think it's less of "metrosexual because gay, so cliche" and more of a "metrosexual because Tevinter, we have style here". Based on how the previous magisters we've encountered and the Tevinter garbs you could find as loot ... all being similarly elaborate/high quality/whatnot.

This is kind of how I view it.  I tend to think that because Dorian is Tevinter, he is overly concerned with outward appearances, so he has a stylish, elaborate look (both his facial hair and his clothes).  Kind of like how Vivienne wear elaborate clothes and headdresses.  I think it has nothing to do with his sexuality and everything to do with his personality.  The same that Vivienne's similar interests have nothing to do with her sexuality.

I will wait for a mod count on it, it wont be that HARD to remove his facial hair im sure, never said anything about his face, people just keep putting words in my mouth and its frankly rude and irritating

yes i made a thread in the suggestion form TO SUGGEST a way to change it, but apparently suggestion u don't like are not welcome, and frankly I'm one inch away from contacting whomever is responsible for this site... but I will pretend it was fine...

actually Dorian is insulting to me as a gay man, its like some poor attempt to hide him being gay behind a humorous look, its like Bioware are hiding behind this to avoid any commotion, its like oh he is gay but look he looks like a french villain hahahah : /

I HOPE I'm horribly wrong and if I am then I'm sorry but if I'm wrong that just means Bioware has lame taste : /

well I'm not laughing and its not funny nor cool

Oh geez, just how shallow are you to let just one thing dictate the entirety of a character? We haven't even gotten a good sense of what Dorian is really like as a character and you're already letting something like the style of facial hair ruin the game for you? I'm not that fond of moustaches either, but I think this could work. Besides, many other people find Dorian's design appealing going by the amount of fanart I found on tumblr.

This is about the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen on the BSN, and I have seen so, so many ridiculous things.

He was written by a gay man. Many of his fans are gay and have no trouble with his appearance. As far as I know, you are literally the first person in hundreds of posts about Dorian to think his facial hair is somehow a commentary on his sexuality. Personal aesthetic taste is one thing, but the companion's look is not offensive just because you don't like it.

If you see a secret anti-gay conspiracy in a moustache, re-examine your freaking priorities.

If you think it's going to be easy without modding tools, then why don't you try your hand at it?   There is plenty of guides for modding and if you think this is going to be easy, then try it for yourself.

As it stands, I hate to say it, but it's time to just deal.  You know that it's far too late for the DA team to change anything, even if they decided to do so.   Also, if you want to get the attention of modders, this isn't the right subforum.  I'd suggest hitting up nexusmods.com and asking from their forums.  That's where a lot of modders for various games hang out.

This engine has a hell of a rep for being difficult to work with.  DICE even banned someone for messing with the colors in Battlefield 4 (the same engine as what DA:I is going to be,) though they ended up overturning it a couple of weeks later.

Even the senior VP of EA talked about this:

http://www.maximumpc...e_too_“complex”

"As of now, we are not going to make any modding tools, no," EA Senior VP Patrick Soderlund told GamerStar (via GameSpy). "If you look at the Frostbite engine, and how complex it is, it's going to be very difficult for people to mod the game, because of the nature of the set up of levels, of the destruction and all those things… it's quite tricky. So we think it's going to be too big of a challenge for people to make a mod."

Dorian is beautiful just the way he is.  Hopefully in time you'll see that, because he's going to probably look that way for good.

Edit: David Gaider is public about his homosexuality and he wrote Dorian.  If you have an issue with him, then take it up with DG.  I wish you the best of luck.

Modding the Frostbite engine is hard.

Regarding Dorian being metrosexual, I find his appearance appropriate to his background as a noble. For much of western history, nobility has worn the best clothing and was one of the few groups to actually have clean clothes.

I also recall a historian commenting that if America's founding fathers walks into a modern city, we'd say they were transvestites because they had heeled shoes, silk leggings, make-up, and wigs. When I look back at pictures of men before the 60s, they're usually wearing suits and are very well groomed.

These dudes sell flowers on the sidewalk (1940s), yet they've better dressed than many white-collar businessmen I've met.

Honestly, modern people are really sloppy.

Its kinda ironic when I 1st saw Dorian in the concept art I thought he looked like a evil mustach twirling villain.

Then I found out he's from Tevinter.

I am guessing that he'll use sarcasm and humour to deflect mquestions ala Alistair.

Extremist Dorian's-Mustache-Haters are making it so hard for the moderate majority to make our correct and just case.

Also, I hope America's Founding Fathers will be bisexual love interests in the next game. Would make this forum even more special for sure

It's blatantly not an opinion to accuse the character design team of trying to hide Dorian's sexuality, and you are hurting people.

You're demeaning the developers by assuming that a character's moustache is a jab at their sexuality. You're using your own dislike of the character to accuse them of offending you.

If you seriously can't see why people aren't prepared to let this issue go, you're better off not posting about it. You certainly aren't going to change any minds, or gain much sympathy from me.

You can click "show only BioWare posts" button on the threads, if you do it with a big one there's good odds a post by Mr.Gaiderwill be there. Then you can click name of the poster and there will be option to send them a private message/start conversation. I think.
