Sexuality, as a concept in and of itself, has never been the focus of any BioWare game.  Ever.  It simply exists within them.

Dragon Age 2 the characters were bisexual.

From what I have been hearing they want to have a fair balance of Hetero/******/Bisexual characters in game to give equal time to all walks of life in that regard.

Bioware's writer is gay and  thus massively biased. I hate it when companies include gay characters just for the sake of being inclusive.

I hated how males kept hitting on my characters even after I said no.  So I kill them.   If this is bioware true intentions then I fear for Mass Effect 4 and other project under bioware =ea

I thought the focus was stopping the veil rifts and ending the numerous conflicts that sprang up in DA2 and the novels.

Perhaps in the face of overwhelming under-representation, they feel it's their obligation to go the extra mile here.

As long these real world social issues don't get in the way of gameplay for me, I'm fine. I just want a good game.

WoW o you play video games for sex. I mean come on its a little disturbing that we care more about sex in a video game then anything else really are we that sick. Not saying gay or straight are wrong, but its sad that to some its the main focus. Do we as society become this perverted to the point that sex in either direction is the main focus here, COME ON IT A DAMN Game, Not your spouse.

You are assuming a lot.  Also not sure where you get "male characters keep hitting" as the only character that actually made anything that could be considered an advance was Anders and you can shoot him down pretty quick.

Where's a picture of Sten when you need one?

This never happened. If you turn down Anders, he never flirts with you again. Zevran is the same. Fenris waits for you to flirt with him before he starts anything. Given that you weren't paying enough attention to notice that Dorian and Sera are the first gay companions ever included in the Dragon Age series, though, I'm not surprised you missed that.

If you can't cope with gay and bisexual people simply existing in the world, well, that's not really BioWare's problem.

No, it is not the focus of Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Note that I'm straight... LGBT content doesn't bother me if it exists, so that people are okay with it doesn't mean that they they are gay/lesbian.

As for the install base perception, I make reference to this analysis which showed something interesting.  In it, young boys were so used to getting more attention than the girls that when the teacher forced themselves to split attention 50/50, some of the boys felt that the girls were receiving 90% of the attention.

In other words, if you've been catered to you may have a tendency to overestimate how much focus the other side is getting now that you aren't getting as much.

Thread is now closed.
