Eventually, so I see all banter and such. But not on my first playthroughs, most likely.

I can easily see myself ending up with an all Warrior party on at least one playthrough. From what we know so far, Cassandra, Iron Bull, and Blackwall are massively appeal to me. As for the other classes, at this point, Vivienne doesn't interest me, though Dorian and Solas do, and for the rogues, I love Varric and suspect to greatly enjoy Cole based off of my knowledge of the character, but Sera does not yet appeal to me.

I'm more of a "Take who has funny banter and will have unique reactions to the quest" sort.

And someone to pick locks. I think this might be the only time I do an all mage party and ignore the ever present need to unlock things.

Probably not. I usually play as a mage, and it might be a bit difficult to progress through the game with no tank. Also, I want to hear the banter between Cassandra and Varric. That is going to be awkward.

My first save will be a Male Qunari Mage, and I think for atleast 1 Mage vs Templar quest (perhaps the end of the conflict) I'll have Dorian, Solas, and Cole. That's not all mage exactly, but its Cole. I would much rather have that than with Vivienne. Especially in a Mage vs Templar mission.

I'm tempted. I want to play as a human loyalist mage first, and the mage companions sound great, but I would prefer to have a more diverse party. Probably have to leave Viv and Solas back at HQ every now and then, although Viv and my mage inquisitor would probably get along the best.

I think I'll go with a Male Elf Mage with Solas, Sera, and Varric (maybe ironbull or cassandra instead of varric if i feel like need a warrior).  I really wish there was another elf companion so i can go with an all elf party :c

Just go with two companions?

Edit: y'know, just for fun.

Nah. I like to have a balanced group - one of each class plus an extra. (Usually the extra is my PC, but not always.) Especially since there are apparently going to be class-based exploration skills.

Probably not on my first playthough, but I might at some point.

Nah, seems like work. Would rather play this balanced.

I may end up with all rogues. But I wont do all mages because I don't like any of the mages so far. I wont do warriors either because I only like Cassy. Plus I probably wont even play a warrior. At least for a few playthroughs.

No, but I do often like one companion who's the same class as myself present. Seeing as I'll be playing the game as a rogue I'll likely always have another as well whilst travelling who'll likely be Cole even though I love Varric and will likely enjoy Sera too.

It's always tank/melee dps/range dps/mage for me.

I'm old fashioned that way.

edit: Of course, I still mix it up sometimes, just to explore different banter and such.

I get the feeling that it might be possible with mages. Knight Enchanter could be a durable subclass and Spirit Healer for healing is agiven. I'll be interested in seeing what the Necromancer is capable of though.

I get the feeling it'll be another game of 'you can do everything with all mages and one rogue for lockpicking duty.'

Down the road, sure, but not for my first or second time.  I need to know the game first.  When that time comes though, it'll be Varric/Sera/Cole/me as a four rogue party.

I think it can be easily done. The only thing Knight Enchanter could improve upon from Arcane Warrior is aggro management. You're not really fulfilling the warrior role much if you don't have that. It's just DPS without it. In which case, going nuker might be better.

I get the impression people love multiple play-throughs with this series, however I really don't because it never-ever provides the same experience as your first. The character and story I go through will be my own, if I want to play it again I'll only do it on a higher difficulty but make all the same choices.

Maybe, but my priority is roleplay and my PC dictates who comes along.  If it happens to be three companions from one class, it'll be due to personalities and roleplay, not 'just to have all four of one class' for the sake of it.

All mages on a subsequent playthrough, for the sheer joy of destroying everything in seconds on nightmare. Mages will probably be OP this time around.

Must admit I also found it hard completing my second playthrough. But since this game supposedly has 40 endings ... Might be easier this time.

Initially mix it up a bit, mage + warrior + rouge + inquisitor warrior, until we find all our companions then it's mage + mage + rouge + inquisitor warrior.

I owned DAO since launch. And there's always a glut of good gaming from time to time. It was always fun to revisit on a rainy day. That's why I replay.

I was thinking of doing an all mage group if there is a fade sequence but when I actually thought about it I realized Cole would be far better in the fade than Dorian or Vivienne.

I can also see myself bring Blackwall, Iron Bull and Cassandra on a quest together, but I don't know if I'd be a warrior as well.  My first warrior is planned to be Dwarf and Varric will accompany him(or her if Varric is a romance option) everywhere.

As for all rogues, highly doubt it, I have zero interest in Sera, and I have even less interest in her relationship with Cole.
