Sole Survivor: Could have Cerberus, while reconstructing Shepard, erased their involvement from his/her memory

From playing Mass Effect 1&2( have not played 3), you would think that Shepard would be incredibly reluctant to fight along Cerberous, regardless of the stakes. In Mass Effect 1, if you do some of the side quests, you find out Cerberous was the group responsible for what happen to you and the others. Interestingly enough, when Jacobs tells you they are Cerberous, the first thing Shepard does not do, is shoot jacobs in the head, and try to find away out of the facility, while at the same time, avoid both the robots and Cerberous.

It makes me wonder if Cerberous planned the whole thing, because they knew the Reapers were coming, and were looking for a human that could survive something impossible to come out of, and you did without showing any symptoms of ptsd( based on how collected Shepard is, and the fact the military says you are fit for active duty), and you have an almost inhuman survival instinct, which were the two qualities that impressed Cerberous, and labled you as the man they would keep their eye on.

If this is the case, it would make sense that you don't confront them about what happen in Akuze, why they cared to resurrect you, etc.

That's no reason not to confront them.

And it's Cerberus.

The Illusive Man didn't want shep changed in any way, otherwise she wouldn't be shep anymore. So, no control chip, no tampering with thought patterns or memories. I think I'd have been more p***ed off if they had erased her memories and then had shep just accept that she was never on Akuze, or that it never happened.

Improbable. It's been confirmed that Shepard's mind wasn't changed. I blame it on sloppy writing.

Killing all your friends in the field, almost killing you and torturing the survivors even further isn't reason enough?

He said that's no reason not to confront them, not that's no reason to confront them.

My first trilogy run of Mass Effect was with the sole survivor Shepard, and ME2 was always a bit frustrating because of this, and then you had the nasty-gram sent to the private terminal from Cpl Toombs that he's gonna try and kill you if he sees you. I always wish that Shepard did cross paths with that guy.

Cerberus in general is frustrating, I don't know what forces shepard to work for cerberus. Just strip off any cerberus cameras/logos (lol) etc and be done with it.
Keep TIM as an informant he seems to specialize in finding dead reapers on his work days and collector ships on the weekends  :wizard:

But yeah Toombs had every right to be pissed, since he doesn't know anythign about reapers, and it is weird Ashley follows the same path as him (sort of)

Yeah in Toombs' position I'd be pissed too, but I still think the game should have had an encounter or something. He was, after all, hunting down Cerberus operatives. I suspect that Toombs was killed later.

I suspect blasto had something to do with it. He was probably chasing him down to track the leads on cerberus.

Blasto was too busy collecting appearance fees and enkindling females.

I like to think shepard is indoctrinated already and is controlled by the reapers.  And the reapers are us (the gamers)  ;)
