I'm curious about what people would like in ME4 multiplayer.

1. I would love for full appearance customization for all species, not just skin tone. Facial appearance like in campaign. Maybe chose from different voices as well... maybe.

2/3 kinda tie in together

2. Customization of armor like in campaign (melee, health, shield, speed, power increase/decrease) and combining different armor pieces for different effects for all races.

3. Armor has differnent effects and bonuses and maybe some small disadvantages as well. Make them upgradeable like weapons as

well.

4. Increase the level cap to 30-60 and increase the ability points.

5. Be able to fight not just the Reapers, Cerberus, Geth, and Collectors, but Blue Suns, Eclypse, and Blood Pack and get the option to fight the merc groups at once.

6. Possibly make the Prothean a playble race, and for a joke make the Hanar and Elcor playable.

7. Make Male and Female variants of each race. Asari are fine, but every other race out there only has male playable characters except for Humans, Quarians which all it's male versions are just god awful, Turians which finally got one female to play as in it's final expansion

8. Enable heavy melee to knock Geth Bomber away... annoying little things.

9. Enable counter system for instakills (countering enemy instakills) for example... kinda BS for a krogan to NOT fighting back a banshee grabing him... I REPEAT A KROGAN NOT FIGHTING BACK

10. Don't let evading remove barriers from biotics... kinda broken.

11. ENABLE EVERY CLASS OF EVERYRACE TO DODGE OR ATLEAST SIDE STEP *cough* *cough* *KROGAN* errrrrhum *TURIAN*... Except the Geth Juggernaut... he's fine he doesn't need to dodge... or run... or move... just stand there and be awesome.

12. Perhaps a Tower Defense game mode.

13. Don't let the AI know your exact location ALL the time

14. Weapons should be passively better for specific classes and races, you shouldn't have to put a skill point in that perk for it's boost in effectiveness unless it's a later ability to drastically improve it for the class, the Soldier should be the hands down best with weaonry no matter what weapon and get a two to three times better perfotmance with it since they have no tech or biotics and heavily rely on ammo.

15. Give the option to chose which power weapon you use and get ammo for (Avalanche, Hydra, Cobra, Arc Projector, Blackstar, Grenade Launcher, Firestorm, Blackstorm, M920 CAIN, Collector Beam, Ladon, Sync Laser and more)

These are more that my friends have told me and I agree in most cases.

15. Different wave settings for possibly setting up endless survival to see how long you can last, rewards vary.

16. The ability to pick a class with any species, NOT class and race as one, except in some cases such as N7 only humans, Justicar and Commandos only Asari, Battlemasters only Krogan, STG only Salarian, etc.

17. More accessable maps with more to do on there with the environment, more access points, larger areas, not let the area feel like your in a box.

18. Make areas in the maps where the sniper rfile is more useful where as in ME3 areas got too close quarters for it to be useful.

19. BOSS WAVES :3

20.KEEP THE MICROTRANSACTION systerm. What needs to change in it is when you max out a character appearance or weapon or whatever you get, it won't appear again. I can see them letting you upgrade a specific item only as long as you have it and have to pay extra... quite a bit extra for the upgrade which I would be content with, but not buy a specifc weapon or item outright for a high pricetag. They should include random EXP bonuses not limited to a specifc class, but should give you the option to dump it in a class of your choising, and each class that is maxed out lowers the chances of it popping up again.

I'd prefer if it had nothing to do with the single player game at all. It annoys me that my readiness rating is stuck at 50% because I don't care for the multi player game.

Frankly spoken: Cut the MP and put al the effort to the single-pkayer. There are enough MP-Shooter out there, Mass Effect has not to be one, too.

And if i wanna play horde-mode (wich was the only kind of MP in ME3) i would certainly not buy a full-prize game for just that.

I don't mind more of the same thing.  I enjoy the horde style gameplay but I don't really care for it being a huge part of the game.

How about a more simple approach to co-op in online and offline? That's much better than having the ME3 multiplayer thing.

Besides that, I think making certain areas co-op'd if possible would be a success, seeing as how Portal 2's Multiplayer was. No it's not puzzle, it's fighting, with your lasers. Also, if you add co-op to a game you're gonna have to change things up a bit, same as Portal 2, again. No point in having the same maps, the same ship with others if you do. But on the plus side, I'd like to be able to invite friends over in-game and we could all finish the campaign together.

I'd love to see a "multiplayer story" option where up to three of us could experience the single player story as a group.  Using ME3 terms, I could join my brother and select one of the two squad mates he takes with him for the fights.  All cut scenes and dialog options are still his but I could help him with the fights and strategize about the bosses.  Yes, it'd be more like watching an interactive movie, but I love that king of stuff.  I had a blast watching a friend of mine who had never experienced ME3 play for several hours and would have LOVED to jump into the combat with him.  (Especially when he kept getting stomped over and over and over and over...)

For something like ME2, a multiplayer option in the story could help with probing planets for resources.  The Normandy goes to one planet but drops off the shuttle at another.  I could pilot the shuttle and return to the Normandy to help speed up the gather time.

I think it would be awesome, too, if the different classes had different perks the way they did in Baldur's Gate 2, where Rangers got a Keep, Druids got a Grove, etc.  I could jump in with a friend and see the world as he/she impacted it and how different it might be from mine.

Just some thoughts...

Hey,

Sorry to burst your MP-Bubble, but:

I want NONE - For me the MP is one of the things that made the game worse then the previous ones (along with the story...*retches*)

So I would like them to return to "no multiplayer" - maybe with the exception of a Co-Op mode (that might be fun) were you play different characters from the series on missions (to give more background on important NPCs), but that's it.

greetings LAX

I hope they stick with creating a great and amazing space single player RPG with optional co-op that does not impact the choices u make or hinder any progress. There are many games that are trying to make their games last "longer" with MP. This takes focus off of single player and quite frankly ruins the flow of the story.

To be honest MP was what kept ME alive after the ending shitstorm for most of the players here. While playing MP we could make peace with ME3SP.

ME4 needs a strong SP cause that is what ME is all about, but ME3MP was too much fun to not bring it back in ME4, even if they don't improve MP much it'll be great.

The SP and MP were developed by different Bioware studios, so there wasn't focus lost from SP to make the MP.

  • Bioware Edmonton worked on the SP and all SP DLC except Omega.
  • Bioware Montreal worked on the MP, community events, and all MP DLC.

Bioware Montreal is working on the next Mass Effect while Bioware Edmonton works on a new IP.

I originally was anti MP and refused to play the MP as I wasn't impressed with the MP demo, as it felt like a nerfed SP character, but that changed when tried playing it again and unlocked non human kits. I eventually became hooked and the free MP DLC, new powers, and community events just made the MP more fun. Overall I have invested way more time in MP than SP, even though I originally bought ME3 for the SP.

I want the dialog wheel back with 6 choices and less auto dialog, as that made the interactions feel less personal and made Shepard act like a creeper/eavesdropper. Ambient dialog I don't mind if it's just two random NPC chatting.

Co-op story could be really cool if implanted right and not forced, kinda like Dead Space 3.

What Nitro said. MP is too much fun to not, at the very least, transplant into ME4.

That said, I'd like two things for ME4MP:

1) I'd like for them to get rid of the troll market. Give static credit costs and rank requirements on a full, viewable list of all classes, weapons, items and upgrades.

2) I want to stop pretending that thermal clips don't work in exactly the same way as ammunition in every other shooter. Let's bring it back to ME1, maybe even a hybrid where you can let guns cool down while carrying actual thermal clips that are shared between weapons.

I find it important that it is not tied in with the single player mode as they did in ME3. As I do not play online it is unfair that you need to play online to get full scores for the reaper battle. Single player needs to be complete as it is.

As another said, I'd prefer that multiplayer not be tied to the single player campaign. What I would like, however, would be to have a more open world type of game on the MP side. Arenas are nice, but they feel hollow. I don't want waves of enemies. I'd rather explore a large map and have random encounters and possibly even loot, either with a fire team or by myself. I want my multiplayer character to be a character that can feel like the protagonist exploring a big world if I wished, but that also means having the character creator options as well.

Count me as one of the people that loves the multiplayer mode. I like co-op games so Mass Effect 3 multiplayer never gets old for me.

The #1 thing I would like to see added to ME4 multiplayer are maps where players move forward through the map Left4Dead style. These would be in addition to the arena style maps that we have now.

I would like to see maps where someone has to take point while someone else guards the rear and you have to check corners for ambushes or traps. I don't want a multiplayer campaign or anything like that. Keep the missions 20 to 30 minutes long like they are now so people can come and go in between maps.

Increased customization and variety among playable species; from being able to swap individual pieces of armor (complete with their own stats) to toggling helmets on or off (facial customization for player characters).

Adding in non-humanoid aliens as playable options, aliens like the Elcor and Rachni (complete with their own unique gameplay mechanics and play styles); the Hanar might be too much for ME:Next, but I won't complain if they do get into the game.

Larger maps, big enough to accommodate vehicles; destructible environments are a must. Varied maps with differing effects (an expansion on the Hazard maps); maybe have one map take place on a space station where players can engage in EVA space walks/combat (provided that they have helmets on or are a species that can survive in a vacuum; like the Geth).

I can see the elcor (which would essentially be a slow-moving walker with just a turret on its back), but hanar should never ever be part of MP. MP is stupid enough as it is with the volus and awakened Collectors.

I never really had a problem with the Volus kits; well that's not entirely true.

I do wish that their wasn't so many variations on the Volus kit; the Vanguard and Engineer should have been the only ones, all the others were just variations on those two with reused powers. I also wish that the Volus would have been restricted to using pistols or SMGs, or have been at severe penalties for using any other class of weapon. But apart from that, I never had any issues with the Volus being in MP, nor did I feel that their presence took away from the seriousness of the setting. If you ask me, it would be the human running around with the stupid 'omi-bow' that looked out of place.

In an age of Mass Effect technologies, I don't find it hard to believe that a species commonly associated with money would be able to afford top of the line, 'combat ready' armors and shields. Also consider the fact that the Volus kit was (essentially) a medic/support class; they only really excelled at assisting the heavy hitters with debuffs for their enemies, and shield regen for their allies.

As for the Awoken Collectors, I personally viewed all of the MP kits' descriptions to be using an in-univierse knowledge. The talk of Leviathans freeing the suppressed Prothean warriors that now fight alongside the other races of the galaxy sounds too good to be true, which is why I view their description to be more of Alliance propaganda, designed to boost moral among the ground forces then something to be taken literally. Think about how the 'Awoken' Collector never talks on the battlefield, never cries out in pain when shot, etc. I think that it is far more likely that we are looking at a simple Leviathan thrall, then some noble warrior from a past cycle come to save this one.

"Why all the secrecy?" people may ask; well considering that the Leviathans are a species that can quite literally mind rape you if they wanted, and that their disposition is to view all other species as lesser beings, and you can see why officials might want to keep the fighting forces ignorant of that fact. It's better to convince your ground forces that the galaxy has discovered an ally that has helped free an enslaved people from Reaper control; give everyone hope that the Reapers can be beaten; than to tell them that they are fighting alongside a meat puppet being directed by an alien race that views all other life as beneath it.

They spoiled ME3 with this multiplayer, galactic readiness, blah blah blah. ME4 MUST be single-player; if they want to make a MOBA, it has to be a separated game: no connections with ME4.

I found the link between Mass Effect 3's singleplayer and mulitplayer components immersive and, at the very least, entertaining and fun. Readiness can be achieved without multiplayer because the free extended cut expansion reduced the number of war assets needed to get all endings from 5,000 down to 3,100. So I'd like the multiplayer integrated with the singleplayer but, instead of waiting for a DLC to correct issues restricting core content, include alternative singleplayer padding to give players the choice (because that's what Mass Effect is all about, no?) to play either to get what they want.

As for what I would like in multiplayer?

  • Variation in mission types.
  • More variety in worlds.
  • Social hubs as opposed to menu screens.
  • More customization.
  • Less restrictive classes.
  • Better balancing.

Wanna know what the next MP really needs? An option to buy more than one pack at once.

The store is so slow, restocking consumables is terrible time consuming.
