What would you like in Mass Effect 4 Multiplayer

I agree that to attain 100% playing the MP is a bit much considering some people don't have access to internet from their homes.

 

However I would like it if one were to achieve certain ranks/banners that would unlock additional content in the SP. Like interesting weapons, armour or abilities. Heck even add new things to the captain's room. I mean it would be pretty cool if the MP is based off of the main character's parent's team. I mean it would make sense for the parent of the hero/heroine to be in the alliance and it would be like the parent passing on cool things to their child. You know like if you master every technical power in the MP you unlock an armour/mod that boosts the SP's tech power/duration by 50%.

 

I suppose die hard fans who want to own every weapon/hidden gem without playing MP would hate it but it would be a cool fit into the story. That way its not directly affecting the story but has an effect on the background. Like in the captain's room would be a picture of you father/mother's squad which would show your favourite MP human class and then the 2nd, 3rd and 4rth favourite MP characters in the background. Or unlocking new music if you extract 25+ from different stages.

 

Also want an ipod like in metal gear solid 4. I would like to shoot to music and I listen to music a lot. I'd say about 50% of my waking hours is spent listening to music as it relaxes me and keeps me focused. The ability to listen to music and choose what songs I want would be great for SP & MP. Kinda like in Tony Hawks Underground 2 where you can choose what songs you like and dislike.

 

Another thing would be a hub room. Kinda like a big giant mall/room where the centre has a Statue dedicated to the Reaper war and on the sides are stalls for weapon modification, armour mods, stores and even accessory shops. Would be great to see something scenic like aquariums on the walls. That way it's like DOTA where you select what type of match your looking for and then have something to look at while you wait.

I'd love to see a "multiplayer story" option where up to three of us could experience the single player story as a group.  Using ME3 terms, I could join my brother and select one of the two squad mates he takes with him for the fights.  All cut scenes and dialog options are still his but I could help him with the fights and strategize about the bosses.  Yes, it'd be more like watching an interactive movie, but I love that king of stuff.  I had a blast watching a friend of mine who had never experienced ME3 play for several hours and would have LOVED to jump into the combat with him.  (Especially when he kept getting stomped over and over and over and over...)

For something like ME2, a multiplayer option in the story could help with probing planets for resources.  The Normandy goes to one planet but drops off the shuttle at another.  I could pilot the shuttle and return to the Normandy to help speed up the gather time.

I think it would be awesome, too, if the different classes had different perks the way they did in Baldur's Gate 2, where Rangers got a Keep, Druids got a Grove, etc.  I could jump in with a friend and see the world as he/she impacted it and how different it might be from mine.

Just some thoughts...

 

 

I think we're gonna see something like this, along with the "horde" mode in the next ME.  Remember, they said they'll keep making multiplayer maps as long as we keep playing them.  

 

There go the next 10 years of my life.

No Multiplayer mode.. Make the Main Story good and an Open World end after the final mission where we can continue Playing. Idea :

 

Make the Multiplayer an Open World to be playable after the final mission, after the final mission you can continue playing and doing sidequests but you will be on a Online Server where you can chat with other people or hang out with others online at the citadel there you can organize online games in arenas on the silversun strip...

 

Something like that is much better!

Sorry to burst your SP bubble, but

 

I want ALL - for me the SP is one of the things that made the game worse than the previous ones (along with the story...) *bleh*

 

Isn't this what you meant?

 

Not really - though I concede the point about SP being pretty bad ;) (It was - read some of my past postings on the subject, if you like ^^)

Remove the store option from random matches, you should have to do this before you enter a random lobby, keep it for friends only games so players don't have to leave and be invited back.

 

Balance between characters. I like the Vorcha and the Krogan but damn if people don't get annoyed with me for using them and I can see why. More abilities DA style only using RS/LS/D-pad instead of the trigger.

 

GOW3 had a beginners difficulty setting for the MP once you had reached a certain level you couldn't go in to that setting anymore, a similar system would stop the better players from womping low level players and newer players wouldn't have to be kicked from lobbies.

 

More enemies in the first few waves and more objectives during matches the first few waves are always a mad rush to kill the few enemies that are around.

 

Dungeon crawl.

Give an additional talent point to each class for each promotion. So, after 21 promotions, you can legitimately achieve 6x5 builds.

To everyone that thinks multiplayer is at the detriment of single player, the inverse can be true to. It added significant longevity to the game, and added challenge and long term progression that was sorely missing from Single player.

That would end in everyone running around in a 66666 "build" after like 2 weeks. Don't think that's a good idea cause it drastically reduces diversity.

How about a custom kit with all powers to choose from after finishing all challenges? Would need some kind of point system to avoid too OP  kits and maybe no/less credits for matches with custom kits to keep a balance between vanilla  and custom kits.

If tied to a single player, make it connect to individual save games rather than entire player profile. Having it that way in ME3 would've allowed to get low EMS ending on one save and high EMS on another.

 

I would prefer a completely separate multiplayer, with some story of its own.

Bioware reinvented and revolutionized the tired and stale horde mode style of gameplay with ME 3 mp.

I had already finished the single player campaign and all of the dlc's and I hadn't touched the game in a couple of months. I had already downloaded all of the mp expansions a while back just because they were there and they were free. I had no intention of ever touching the mp,

Then one day I just decided to fire up the mp because I wanted more ME 3 but there were no more missions to do.

Ever since that day I have played the mp more than I have played any other game ever and have been gaming a long, LONG time.


So that being said PLEASE. Bioware do not remove or break the mp by implementing many of these suggestiions thay woulld radicalllly alter the mp portion of ME4.

The game is fantastic the way it is. If anything simply build and expand upon what is already there but please do not radically or fundamentally change it

As an additional game type? I'm OK with that. As a replacement to co-operative multiplayer? No, no a thousand times no.  I've spent over 1300 hours in the MP we have now and if it were PvP only, that number would be 0.  Please, please BioWare... if PvP is being considered, please have it be in a separate lobby.  I have loved the Mass Effect saga since it began and to be aim-botted, no-scoped and teabagged to death would demolish that love.  I understand not all PvP'ers are like that, but if the gamers who do those things are in the minority, then they are a very vocal minority.

 

I'll step off my soap-box now and reply to the thread. 

 

As far as gameplay, what I would like to see in ME4 already exists.  It's called Fuse; BioWare fans should know it, at least by who's in it: A British FemShep with a traditional French surname, Liara as Jack (Subject Zero), and Varric as Axton from Borderlands 2 or Chris Redfield from the Resident Evil series (your preference.)  What I would like ME4 to emulate is Fuse's Echelon mode... actually, I wouldn't mind if it emulated Fuse's co-op campaign as well.

 

In Echelon, you have the similar 10 waves, but instead of having an objective on waves 3, 6 & 10 - you have an objective EVERY wave.  The objectives vary each wave, except for waves 5 & 10 which are always to destroy HVT(s), but the objective could be to clear out enemies from an area, the aforementioned HVT(s), defend a Fuse cell (in-game lingo,) transport a Fuse cell or retrieve supplies before they are destroyed by the enemy - then destroy the enemy.  Mass Effect could expand on this idea by installing different (or new) objectives into rotation and new enemies (because in Echelon there is little enemy variance.)

 

As far as the store, I'm... tolerant... of microtransactions.  Just because I never have, or will, use a microtransaction doesn't mean I'm at a loss as to why they exist. 

 

upgrade a specific item only as long as you have it and have to pay extra... quite a bit extra for the upgrade which I would be content with, but not buy a specifc weapon or item outright for a high pricetag.

I love this idea.  The number of credits to obtain the upgrade could be its tier (common, uncommon, rare, ultra-rare) multiplied by level (I-X.)  Which would you prefer: buying 50-100 spectre packs on the chance (and getting level 4 ammo for your trouble) of getting a Lancer II, or spending 2,000,000 credits upfront to acquire it?  This should only be for upgrades.  That said...

 

 

I'd like to see level I of certain weapons, or characters for that matter, unlocked through completing challenges.  Complete Biotic mastery?  Congratulations, have an Asari!  (Not that way, get your minds out of the gutter!)  Also, a recycling system.  Back when my Harrier or Lancer was at III, I would have traded every level of my Avenger, Vindicator, Phaeston, Revanent, Geth Pulse Rifle, etc. for an ultra-rare upgrade.

 

Other things I'd like that have been previously mentioned:

  • Armor customization and mods
  • More enemy factions
  • Playable Elcor!!! I've been singing that tune for a while now. 
  • Sync-kill counter <-previously stated | my addition -> especially on vacuum grabs
  • Heavy weapon variety - gimme my Arc Projector back!!!
  • Larger maps, destructible environments
  • Ability to buy certain packs in bulk

Also, no SP tie-in please.  It was a nice thought, at first, but my N7 rating is near 9,000 which means when I play the SP I've got 20,000+ war assets from MP alone.  Technically, I could launch the final battle before heading to Mars.

for the ps3,the stering when running with the anologue,and mele angle to be ajusted,so i dont do air mele, aprt from that more of the same more turrits,and maybe a co op vehicle missions as multiplayer of campaigne,

Too much repitition in it - the addition of co-op missions would be great, but please keep everything seperate from SP.

I don't want to have to play MP if I don't like it. 

 

Add the merc groups - including Talons & cat 6(with clones!), as well as new enemies from next game, obvs.

 

Also in the store let players buy specific weapons and mods, rather than buy packs all the time.

What I want in ME4 Multiplayer? I want Bioware to remove the multiplayer entirely, and put the focus back on the singleplayer. ME was brilliant until they put in the "multiplayer" to appeal to the masses. Mass Effect is an RPG game, it doesn't need multiplayer.

 

Haha, who are you trying to fool? Mass Effect hasn't been an RPG since ME2; Bioware seem to believe that dumbification sells more copies.

 Well yeah, ME has lost quite a bit of it's Rpg-roots, that's true. It's more like a Bordelands with more than one skill per character.

But that doesn't mean, it's impossible for ME to return to it's origin... eventhough that may seem a bit unlikely.

Aw, come on, for real?

Ok, let's think about this... what are the biggest strengths of ME? Well... story/plot... dialogues... characters...

So then...  has there ever been an MMORPG whichcould deliver on those aspects? Not to my knowledge.

As far as i know - and i've played some MMos -the formula is always the same:

-Create your silent alter ego

-Pass the starting area

-then... go to the nearest city, talk to all guys with an exclamation mark above his head and run off to do your chores.

-repeat and repeat.

 

What's there about story gets murdered in boring text-windows. No cinematic representation whatsoever. You're just an errand-boy on your way to lvl 90.

No, No,No!

I don't wish the ME-franchise to go that way - not in a million years. I don't want to grind through a 1oo hours to get a lvl 100 weapon-smith. I don't want to kill a bazillion of Varrens to get their pelts for crafting. I don't want to be forced into microtransactions just to get 10 more inventar-slots. I don't want to do the same raid over and over for the tiny 5%-chance to get this special item-set.  I don't want to wait in an area for quest-monsters to respawn, alongside with 50 other players.

And i don't want to write lfg into chat-windows for a f*cking hour, just to get a group.

No more! I've had enough with MMOs and there are tons of them out there. ME has not to be one and it shouldn't.

 

Just keep the good parts of Mass Effect and add a few new features, to keep it fresh. But an MMO? No!

Servers powered by 27 hamsters instead of 3...
