What would you like in Mass Effect 4 Multiplayer

THIS IS NOT A TOPIC OF WHETHER ME4 SHOULD OR SHOULD NOT HAVE MULTIPLAYER... TAKE THAT TOPIC TO ANOTHER FORUM. IF YOU DIDN'T LIKE ME3 MP THEN GET OUT OF THIS FORUM UNLESS YOU HAVE SOMETHING ACTUALLY RELEVANT TO THE TOPIC AT HAND!!!

 

I'm curious about what people would like in ME4 multiplayer.

 

1. I would love for full appearance customization for all species, not just skin tone. Facial appearance like in campaign. Maybe chose from different voices as well... maybe.

 

2/3 kinda tie in together

2. Customization of armor like in campaign (melee, health, shield, speed, power increase/decrease) and combining different armor pieces for different effects for all races.

 

3. Armor has differnent effects and bonuses and maybe some small disadvantages as well. Make them upgradeable like weapons as

well.

 

4. Increase the level cap to 30-60 and increase the ability points.

 

5. Be able to fight not just the Reapers, Cerberus, Geth, and Collectors, but Blue Suns, Eclypse, and Blood Pack and get the option to fight the merc groups at once.

 

6. Possibly make the Prothean a playble race, and for a joke make the Hanar and Elcor playable.

 

7. Make Male and Female variants of each race. Asari are fine, but every other race out there only has male playable characters except for Humans, Quarians which all it's male versions are just god awful, Turians which finally got one female to play as in it's final expansion

 

8. Enable heavy melee to knock Geth Bomber away... annoying little things.

 

9. Enable counter system for instakills (countering enemy instakills) for example... kinda BS for a krogan to NOT fighting back a banshee grabing him... I REPEAT A KROGAN NOT FIGHTING BACK

 

10. Don't let evading remove barriers from biotics... kinda broken.

 

11. ENABLE EVERY CLASS OF EVERYRACE TO DODGE OR ATLEAST SIDE STEP *cough* *cough* *KROGAN* errrrrhum *TURIAN*... Except the Geth Juggernaut... he's fine he doesn't need to dodge... or run... or move... just stand there and be awesome.

 

12. Perhaps a Tower Defense game mode.

 

13. Don't let the AI know your exact location ALL the time

 

14. Weapons should be passively better for specific classes and races, you shouldn't have to put a skill point in that perk for it's boost in effectiveness unless it's a later ability to drastically improve it for the class, the Soldier should be the hands down best with weaonry no matter what weapon and get a two to three times better perfotmance with it since they have no tech or biotics and heavily rely on ammo.

 

15. Give the option to chose which power weapon you use and get ammo for (Avalanche, Hydra, Cobra, Arc Projector, Blackstar, Grenade Launcher, Firestorm, Blackstorm, M920 CAIN, Collector Beam, Ladon, Sync Laser and more)

 

These are more that my friends have told me and I agree in most cases.

 

15. Different wave settings for possibly setting up endless survival to see how long you can last, rewards vary.

 

16. The ability to pick a class with any species, NOT class and race as one, except in some cases such as N7 only humans, Justicar and Commandos only Asari, Battlemasters only Krogan, STG only Salarian, etc.

 

17. More accessable maps with more to do on there with the environment, more access points, larger areas, not let the area feel like your in a box.

 

18. Make areas in the maps where the sniper rfile is more useful where as in ME3 areas got too close quarters for it to be useful.

 

19. BOSS WAVES :3

 

20.KEEP THE MICROTRANSACTION systerm. What needs to change in it is when you max out a character appearance or weapon or whatever you get, it won't appear again. I can see them letting you upgrade a specific item only as long as you have it and have to pay extra... quite a bit extra for the upgrade which I would be content with, but not buy a specifc weapon or item outright for a high pricetag. They should include random EXP bonuses not limited to a specifc class, but should give you the option to dump it in a class of your choising, and each class that is maxed out lowers the chances of it popping up again.

 

Number 21 is an idea from a poster named Chroptus... awesome idea man.

 

21. More enemy talk/sound interactions with the fight

 

In the Citadel DLC, the enemies shouts very often, if wrex is in your party "oh no, they got a krogan!" That is what i mean, more interactions from the enemy based on what kind of characters you got in your party :)

 

Or if they are only a few members left, telling them to focus or something like that.

 

Ofcourse, that would only be for the humanoid or speaking enemies :P

 

Number 22 is from a poster called Legal Han, another great idea.

 

22. More gameplay narrative. Thematic stuff like unloading off shuttles, similar to how Titanfall was handled. Each match felt like an actual mission.

 

23. Make the N7, Challenge ranking, or promotion be like Borderlands 2 Badass rank by giving you points to to permanently increase small percentages of stats for all classes/races

I wouldn't mind Multiplayer returning, as long as it isn't just another repetitive wave mode. And more in-depth character customization would be lovely.

Have you played ME3 multiplayer? They have quite a few Krogan to play as.

We are talikng about ME:Next multiplayer. I want a playable Krogan, and I trust developers in other aspects. Thats my point.

More match customisation options so I can ban flamers and siege pulse spammers from my games or at least prioritize the classes or characteristics of players that I want to join my games, e.g. biotics only, etc. Maybe an N7 level requirement filter or N7 requirement for each tier so players have to earn the right to play at a higher level and have the appropriate weapons/upgrades and skill/experience to cope. N7 level should be tied to the upgrades you have unlocked, not based on arbitrary promotions.

 

Get rid of RNG or at least have a pack the guarantees ultra rare weapon upgrades. I don't care what it costs anything is better than forcing the player to buy mountains of useless Shiite that could have bought a maxed manifest several times over either in grind or actual money. Nobody in their right mind is going to spend good money on this system without a radical overhaul. Personally I just want to purchase upgrades/consumables piecemeal as and when necessary and i'd be much more likely to spend money that way even if the in game items are overvalued because I wouldn't be forced to waste my money and time on absolute crap 9/10 times. For the love of god cap each consumable at 50 or at least let us sell it back to the store for credit.

12 and 20 are stupid ideas. The RNG is terrible. My progression shouldn't be random.

For it to remain 100% separate from the main campaign. I don't want any generic square arena style levels shoved into my single player campaign, no multi player assets shoved into the single player campaign and no having to play multi player to get a proper ending.

I think the most important thing to retain from ME3 was the huge variety in kits and powers and playable species. I would be very hesitant in allowing a "build your own kit" concept that a lot have asked for in the past. I think the limitations produce more variety. I also think having 3 powers available works pretty well, I don't think that should be expanded on, and if it is not by much.

 

I would like to see different game modes. Introduce something like SWTOR flashpoints. 20-30 minute multiplayer missions with story and set piece battles. And ship the game with an editor so people can make their own with the best ones to be released later officially to all platforms.

Hmmm, I don't actually agree with the above. I'll say why.

 

4 - (Level cap increase) - I just think the game plays well with 3 powers. You could go up to 4 MAYBE, but 6 or 7 or however many level 60 gives you is a mess.

 

6 - (lore breaking characters) - I would prefer multiplayer stuck to the established lore. If there are no Protheans, multiplayer should have no Protheans. Elcor would not be realistic imo. Volus were unrealistic although they did do a pretty good job after deciding to run with them. But there were plenty of underused concepts (like all the Salarian possibilities) that should have come before Volus.

 

11 - (Every kit has a dodge) - I think the variety is better and they get balanced by the kits that don't dodge are more resilient. Also given how important latency is to dodging things like banshee warp balls and rockets, having some kits that are less latency dependent would be nice.

 

18 - (Make maps more sniper rifle friendly) - I was a bit shocked at this request. The maps in ME3 tended to be very sniper rifle friendly. The only one that wasn't was Glacier and even then it was more SR friendly than plenty of maps were close quarters friendly. Variety is good, some maps should favor different ranges, but every map should be "fair" to every weapon/range.

If anyone here remembers Star Wars Battlefront ( the original, though I'm sure Dice is going to do great with the new iteration) then you might remember that you could fight in two eras, Clone Wars and Galactic Rebellion. Whatever new threat we face in the game can be one playable subset and the Reaper War another. Would also like to see large scale multiplayer in this someday.

If anyone here remembers Star Wars Battlefront ( the original, though I'm sure Dice is going to do great with the new iteration) then you might remember that you could fight in two eras, Clone Wars and Galactic Rebellion. Whatever new threat we face in the game can be one playable subset and the Reaper War another.

That would be pretty cool. Only issue with that would be that the assets (enemy models etc) could probably not be shared between single player and multi-player. It might also not make sense to be able to play your *new race* character back in the reaper war content.

I'd have to wait and see what the core game is about.  I want it to be consistent in theme/tone, etc with the main game.  In otherwords, unless the Reapers have returned, then no Reapers.

 

What I love about ME3MP is how it feels like a legitimate extension of the Reaper war; the center piece of the narrative.  Some people were miffed about there not being a PvP mode, but that would go against the "We Fought As A United Galaxy" theme.

A real, rewarding progression system and not RNG. Keep microtransactions (obviously they're going to be in there because EA lol) since they are what made MP DLC free, but work them in another way

And since ME4 won't be about Reapers, we can now get PvP.

 

I'd rather have them make ME4/that other ME IP an MMO. I realize I'm one of few though so I doubt it'll happen :P

Here is the one thing I keep harping and hoping for.  A separate category for multiplay space battles.  You have your choice of a variety of ships, customize them and add mods in a lobby, then play missions much like the land based game.  Objectives, up to 4 co op ships.

Two things for myself:

 

-I want missions to feel like missions, rather than the repetitive wave pattern in a small map. ME3's multiplayer is OK, but the waves and tedious tasks like retrieving drones and data to drop-off points gets old rather quickly. The matches are no more engaging to me than Shepard's time in the Armax Arsenal Arena as a result.

 

-I hate the random crap store, and would prefer it went away entirely. I guess I understand the reason why it's designed the way it is, but I really could not care less.

Well if it's not "random find" EA/Bioware would quickly lose their intended profit margain which in turn would cause them to put a pricetag on DLC and everyone would buy the EXACT same weapons/gear etc. if they were allowed to purchase exactly what they want. I'm not a fan of getting crappy disposable items and character exp in my premium spectre packs and so on... I just believe that since I have all common/non-common/rare equipment and characters unlocked and maxed out, that my chances for ultra rares should increase drastically. I am glad the RNG is present and it works at the early stages of multiplayer, but at the same time it is really broken later on...
