Yup, I'm setting up all of my World States in the Keep this way. Not each state will perfectly diverse with regards to race, thanks to DA2's absence of race selection. But each set of Warden, Hawke, Inquisitor will have each class and at least one of each gender.
Anyone else plan to be something different for every game?

Yeah, this is how i planned to do it when I first discovered races were back; my canon heroes are a male rogue dwarf commoner and a female mage hawke. However after some time i'm stuck between playing as a male elf rogue (archery this time instead of daggers like my warden) or a qunari sword and shield warrior of undecided gender. I will flip flop on which one i want to do first up until release so not going to make a decision yet
That said, assuming Inquisition is a great game, i will eventually get around to playing as both of them and more.

Mages (especially melee types like Arcane Warriors, Battlemages and probably Knight Enchanters) are just too much fun. Sprinkle in a little Blood Magic, and I'm one happy camper. I tend to go with male characters, but my race tends to vary.
My male, elven Warden was a Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage/Battlemage, my male, human (duh) Hawke was a Blood Mage/Force Mage, and I'm aiming for a male, Qunari Inquisitor, who yet again will be a mage. Knight Enchanter sounds like a good time, and hopefully I can go Blood Mage again- if not through a specialization, at least with some spells.

My canon Warden is a warrior and my canon Hawke is a mage so I might switch it up and make my canon Inquisitor a rogue ![]()
All human though ![]()

DAO Elf Archer
DAA same character but using more melee
DA2 Female Warrior
DAI Qunari Female Rift mage
I like to keep them different, why ? dunno just doesn't fit for me to have same character all the time in the same universe.

EFR Two weapons, lots and lots of bombs. Putting Anora on the throne.
EFM Weapons platform, put Alistair on the throne

For my Canon(s).... no, female elf rogue and female elf mage, then female rogue hawke. My first playthrough of dai will be female elf mage, my second probably female elf rogue. Yes I like female elves.

I have 5 world states:
Cannon - Female Dalish Rogue Warden, Female Mage Hawke. Tended to be the unwilling heroes. My Inquisitor will be a Female Dalish Mage, and I do enjoy the fact that this world state is highly affected by the Dalish elves.
Evil - Female Elf Mage, Female Rogue Hawke. No idea what my Inquisitor for this playthrough will be - probably a rogue again, tho gender will depend on what love interest goes best with an "evil" character (since there's gender gating and all)
Sleep With Everything That Moves - Male Human Rogue, Male Mage Hawke. Inquisitor will probably be a Male Qunari (cos he's horny), don't know what class yet. Or whatever race/gender combination gets the most love interest/one night stand options.
Noble/Religious - Male Warrior Dwarf Noble Warden, Female Warrior Hawke. Race and Gender TBD based on what LI fits best - my guess is this will be when I romance Cassandra, but who knows?
Cullen Playthrough - Female Human Mage Warden, haven't done DA2 yet. Literally started this playthrough so I would have a female Amell for Cullen to talk to my Hawke about. Doesn't have much of a theme yet, but I think I'm gonna go with "love interest dies," since Alistair sacrificed himself, and I'm thinking it could be fun to rivalmance Anders and then kill him in the end...since I've never actually done a full rivalmance. So I guess my Inquisitor would be whatever race/gender combination has a LI who possibly dies.

I do. adds to replayability. So that way i can play as a human warrior male who romances cassandra, but then play as a female elven rogue who romances Cullen for example. Did it with origins, DA2 and the mass trilogy too.

That's what I've been doing. Warden was a kind-hearted but aggressive female Dalish rogue, Hawke was a male sarcastic jackass mage who put profit and personal gain above all else.
Not sure what my Inquisitor will be yet, but they'll probably be different than that. Pragmatic stick in the mud, maybe.

Thedas will come to see the greatness of the dwarf race when both the warden and inquisitor are dwarves.

First Playthroughs
DAO - Human male mage
DA2 - Human male mage
DAI - ?
I was thinking it strained credulity for the great hero to always be a human male mage and that I should probably play something else for my first playthrough of Inquisition.
And then I saw The Sex Hat.
Looks like Thedas is going to have another mage hero on its hands.

My canons:
DAO/A: male City Elf Rogue
DA2: female Warrior
DAI: Elf Mage. Haven't decided the gender. I'm almost convinced to roll a male, but there is Sera and that can change...

I usually play male and female versions of each race and class eventually. I never could settle on a canon playthrough.

By that I mean sex and class. I don't like the idea of every badass Thedus has is always the same sex and class. It just strains suspension of disbelief if the Warden and Hawke and the Inquisitor are all woman mages for example. So when I go to play the first 2 games before DAI, I plan to make either 2 males and 1 female or 2 females and 1 male and will use a different class in all 3. So I if I want to be a female Qunari mage, I'll need to be warrior and rogue in the 2 previous games and make sure to pick a male in DAO or DA2. I don't want any class or sex to be able to have a monopoly on being powerful.
Wow! I felt like I was the only one who thought like this. In my personal canon (but not my only playthroughs) my warden is a female cousland rogue, and my Hawke is a female rogue. When planning my DAI characters and thinking about the world they would live in based off of previous games I knew I couldn't do another fem rogue. It was too repetitive to me and just felt imbalanced.
However, since my personal canons are me playing as myself the protagonist will always be female. I'm changing it up with race and class though. I'm looking at doing a female elf mage for my first run :]

Not only that but since the human mage is an Amell your Warden and Hawke were related xD

Sex? Again, probably not...maybe. I am a Male. It's part of how identify myself in reality so it's the one I can relate to the most in an RPG. Also, when romances are based on gender, it pretty much forces me to be male. The reason I say maybe is because I may model my next canon playthroughs after other leading women (Katniss or Joan of Arc).
Race? Yes. Big yes. My canon warden was an elf, my Hawke was a human (obviously), and my Inquisitor will be a Qunari. My plan for the next DA is to be a dwarf, which is usually one of my least favorite race (for some reason I can't put my finger on...maybe it a the culture I don't like).

Why play the same thing more than once?

Posté 06 juillet 2014 - 07:50
It depends, some of them are varied while others have a 'theme' to them. I do experiment with different races/classes/genders/orientations but I do like themes too. Considering the Keep will allow us to import world states, I'm still deciding how I want to 'mix and match'.

I have three basic cannons although I've played as every race, class, and both sexes in both games and plan to do the same for Inquisition.
Human female mage (romanced Alister, kept him a warden, sacrific) >Elven Orleasian Warden-Commander > Diplomatic Female Rogue (romanced Anders, Bethany went to circle, sided with mages) > Vashoth female mage
City Elf female rogue (romanced Leliana, crowned Anora, spared Loghain, Loghain died killing archdemon) > Sarcastic Male mage (romanced Isabella, Carver templar, sided with templars {wasn't going to fight brother}) > Female Dwarf warrior
Castless female Dwarf rogue (romanced Zevran, hardened Al, Al married Anora, dark ritual) > Diplomatic/Sarcastic Female Mage (romanced Fenris, Carver warden, sided with mages) > Human male rogue
