So i'm not some godlike player like a lot of people on here, but i like to think i'm pretty good at this game. But for the life of me i can not get any of the volus characters to work for me. I'm BARELY passable with the engineer, but other then with him i fall flat every single time. I was just wondering if someone could give me some advice about weapons, builds etc.? I've played with a couple really great volus players in the past that have blown my mind and holy crap i want to do that what they do

I hate Volus.  All of them.  I hate that they can't go over cover.  I hate that I can't use hard cover (the accuracy and stability bonuses are really nice).  I hate that they are looking up at everything, because the camera angle messes with me and also makes headshots harder.  At mid-range, it seems like less of the enemy's head is exposed.  And at close range, you often have to quickly adjust your aim vertically, as well as the normal horizontal adjustment, which makes it that much harder to track enemies' heads (on console at least, where aim tracking can be kind of slow).  The Vanguard with Batarian Gauntlet is the only one I ever occasionally use, and only for novelty entertainment purposes, because using an invisible flying nutpunching bowling ball is funny.

My thoughts exactly. I hate volus for the same reasons. 

 

As for the last part, it's not that big of a deal on PC but volus still require the maximum adjustment to your aim when an enemy is rushing you. Not a big deal but kinda frustrating.

But it seems to take twice the effort to dish out DPS as it does for any other character. Really difficult to fight off mooks if all you can use are moves like Stasis and then wait for your cooldowns so you can hurl orbs at them for any damage at all.

Use the Arc Pistol, solves all your DPS problems. Especially with the Adept for Stasis sniping.

I have no shame. Volus merc. PPR. Incendiary ammo. GOML. Don't care.

Volus Adept I use the suppressor.

Volus engi I use csmg.

Volus vanguard I have not played much of (yet).

I follow most other people's strategies. Abuse cloak like it's my job. Shield boost only when necessary. Abuse heavy melee against projectiles as necessary. Repeat until all space criminals have been vanquished.

Well, I play Volus Adept sometimes. The tric is to exploit low cover and melee to run around the map. You should never be alone, so stick to your teammates. The enemies will most likely see them sooner then they see you and focus fire on them. Grab yourself an SMG with a Power Amplifier. Pop the orbs and use Stasis to prime for Biotic Explosions. Voluses are in need of rolling around the entire map. They are low on health and shields, can't take cover. But have an "infinite" cloak capabilities. Stick to low recoil weapons as you won't be able to counter this by shooting from cover.
