It was just a comment. Jeez.

It´s not "the biggest concern about the game".

Noone's said "oh my god". Not even in lowercase.

I didn´t even think it was worth a thread.

Why you people.

"Oh my GOD. Stop voicing your concerns about DAI. Bioware is perfect in every way and this game will be perfect in every way and all that clipping, shaky animations, glitches and non entirely high resolution textures will all be fixed in the 2 months we have left before the game goes gold."

There's a difference between defending BioWare and praising it.

I don't think your highlighted texture looks good. I just don't think it's finished, and if it is the final version then I don't think it's a huge issue that deserves a thread.

BioWare is an RPG not a graphics simulator. I take the whole thing as a package and frankly DA:I as a whole looks good at the moment.

Yes, DAI doesn't look too bad but that doesn't mean something which looks bad can't be addressed or shouldn't be addressed in a thread. The only issue I have with this topic is the way the OP addresses it. There was no need to start off the thread with a sarcastic thread title and a snarky comment in the OP itself on how it looks like the screenshot must be for the PS1. These type of threads would get a lot further if people would just quit with the sarcasm and actually tackle the topic with respect towards the developers. If you respectfully approach something you believe doesn't look good enough other forum members tend to return the favor. It is the negative non-respectful approach of some which leads more people to become increasingly defensive.

Fair enough. I don't intend to convey censorship. I just dislike the nitpicking attitude. It's one thing to discuss textures as a whole and point out some flawed ones, and another to single out one texture and then call the entire game an eyesore.

Well stated and fair enough. Nitpicking is a lot more tolerable when it is done respectfully, which was not the case here. The game isn't done yet, but people want to see things, so what is Bioware supposed to do?

I still don't even understand how people noticed the shoulder graphics when Cullen's face is right there @_@

Some people like looking at something visually, there is no need to patronize them. I do not really care for the game, but graphics are one of the elements that the game comes with. It is also a valid concern cause the game is using something as advanced as frostbite 3 as an engine to help with the rendering.

Let people give their feedback and the devs may respond accordingly.

Yeah, my intial post could have been less snarky and be more worded properly. I'm sorry, it was done in the heat of the moment.

I do respect Bioware a great deal (that's why I'm hanging around their dedicated forum like almost every day waiting for more info like a starving person). But when I see stuff like this (before I knew that it was supposedly yet another glitch with the LOD settings)...it just worries me that this game will be another hasty console port, shackled and bogged down by lastgen, like so many others. I appreciate the devs for not touching up those screenshots but all that clipping and visual glitches aren't helping me relax either.

I like a good story, along with good gameplay, combat and great choices that force you to think. I also happen to like good graphics. If this is a crime, one that makes me a graphics 'hoe' so be it.

I don't want to pick and choose between them. I just want to have them all. But apparently that is too much to ask for.

I just happen to think that if you expect good graphics from a Bioware game, you'll be dissapointed. That's never been the company's strength, historically.

Where did you get that low res one from ... cos his armor is bad ass:

Anyone notice Cullen is equipped with the Original Warden sword from the Sacred Ashes Trailer... you know the one we never got to wield in Origins...

Well there are alot of bugs going on in the game currently and the game is still in pre-alpha. These screenshots are not the final product, Bioware is still making improvements.

My sides.

That doesn't mean they can't improve.

Obsidian is infamous for their game breaking bugs and glitches but their most recent South Park game was quite good and relatively bug free.

You're completely right. And they should improve. I'm just saying... don't get your hopes up, or be surprised if they don't.

And here I'd thought this thread would be about the legitimately awesome art direction for Cullen's armor.

OP, I don't care if you make nitpicky threads about the graphical quality. If they are your concerns then by all means voice them.

Just make an accurate thread title so I can avoid it like I do all other graphical complaint threads.

Doesn't the whole lion skin motif thing come from one of myths about Heracles? Can't get more Heroic Greek Figure than that really... and if there's gladiator outfit like that, that's probably also something tapping into that myth, not the original inspiration.

As I recall, Hercules was on those various quests to atone for the deaths of mortals, as acts of humility. While Cullen could be on that same ship, it is doubtful that he was influenced to do so by Greek tragedy. And armor befitting his past on Thedas seems more fitting, IMO.

To be fair, I also dislike it in Skyrim with the Nordic Carved armor, and the DA2 DLC:

I'm wondering if some have you have played a BioWare game previously.

If we're lucky, PC users will get a high-res download. If we're not lucky, blame the PS 3 and XBox 360 users.

The armor in general is pretty good, to be honest. Probably a combination of a bad angle, weird lighting, makes the top feathers of the opposite side look a bit weird. Basically, i'm not sure i what i see is bad textures, or textures that are highlighted by shine because of lighting.

Yup. Though it seems we can change his sword. The one he has when he seems to rally soldiers is slightly different, and the one in the MS trailer was the same as Cassandra's.

Meh, I'm not doing to judge from a bad angle from a single screenshot. We will see how it looks in game.

Funny, his helmet is oddly Dark Souls esque.

I meant a simpler link -- Heracles allegedly wore the skin of the lion he defeated as his first task, as his armour. So from that you have the 'lion head worn on one's own head = heroic badass' imagery that lingers to this day. We haven't met any lions in Thedas yet, but it's possible they're viewed as similarly dangerous beasts as they were in ancient Greece.

I get that the appearance is supposed to indicate strength and power; to invoke fear. But Animalistic masks and gear tend to get me chuckle instead.

To paraphrase Howe, Cullen deserves more.

Is Lion not more symbolic for courage and loyalty?

Strength is so universal everything from an ant to an elephant can represent strength.
