Wolf 3 turned around towards Bartha, snarling. She grinned and motioned to it: Bring it on. The wolf nipped at her thigh, but she managed to leap just out its reach.... only to have another wolf jumping at her back. Caught off balance, she fell to the ground as the wolf's jaws enclosed around her lower jaw. She screamed out in pain, or tried to, as she felt the muscles being torn and ripped off.

Second attack Rolls (via the Lightning Attack stunt):

Spoiler

As soon as Tessa was outside the house, she had her sword at the ready.  When she rounded the corner of the building, she saw what looked, at first glance, like a thousand wolves swarming over Bartha and Beldin.

“Maker!” As a wolf came past and leapt at Tempest, Tessa saw another one barreling toward them. Raising her bastard sword, she charged at the oncoming wolf, hoping to get to it before it got to Tempest. As she met the oncoming wolf, she brought her sword down on it, using her momentum.  Then she planted her feet and swung again, viciously bearing down on the wolf.

(That’d be wolf 7)

(as Beldin)

Summary: Beldin misses Wolf 6.

It only took a moment. It was time enough.

Bartha's attack attracted the attention of one of the wolves attacking Beldin and flat out killed the other. He slumped against the brick-lined wall of the stairwell, panting and willing the agony in his arm and his groin to subside. It wouldn't help, but his slouched posture did open his body to a new angle of attack, which another wolf seized. It lept over its fallen packmates and sank its fangs into the unprotected meat of his backside.

"What is wrong with you creatures?" he gasped when the pain hit his brain. "I do not have steak in my small clothes!"

Fatigued, he raised his axe, but his stroke went wide, missing the wolf entirely.

"I am never going to live this down," he grumbled to no one in particular.

 Just after she fired, Etienne came bursting into the room. "Oh finally, there you are," he said with a relieved sigh.

Rael was about to reply when the wolves' movement outside caught her eye. Without warning, they bounded under the eaves and completely out of sight. "Blast!" she cried. "The wolves must be going into the cellar."

Without another word, she climbed into the window pane, crossbow in hand. She flashed Etienne a wicked smile over her shoulder and asked, "You coming?" before leaping out of the window. Rael seemed to float through the air like a feather, her auburn hair streaming behind her like a cape. As she neared the ground, she angled her body forward so that her crossbow landed first, which acted like a springboard for her to cartwheel forward, landing on her feet a few yards behind the wolves.

That woman would be the death of him, of that he was quite sure.

He watched wordlessly as she climbed into the window sill, jaw hanging in the most unattractive state of disbelief. She was going to... she was going to leap out of the window? There were stairs, had she already forgotten? "By the grace of Andraste," he breathed as he nearly fell out of the window just leaning over to watch her descend.

And he was supposed to do that

Well, that was it, then. He couldn't very well take his time calmly going down the stairs, the phrase 'safety first' kept in kind consideration. Staff in hand, he pulled himself up to perch in the window and went for it, surprising even himself as he landed on his feet with a loud "oof" just a few paces behind Rael.

The lighting killed two of the wolves but it didn't take long for another pair,to rush in and take their place.
"Elgar'nan take you!"She muttered.By the look of it,there are probably more of them.
Laurelin heard Bartha scream,she glanced towards her and pointed her staff towards the wolf that was attacking her.

Tempest's primary aim in any combat situation was to heal her allies. At the moment, that wasn't possible. Her own injuries were superficial and could wait. The wolf attacking her, however, was a pressing problem. She would need to deal with it before she could tend to anyone else.

Easier said than done. Tempest was distracted, and a little too close. She conjured another arcane lance, but it went wide and fizzled as it left her hand.

Spoiler

Tessa saw that she’d maybe knocked out the wolf {Wolf 7} that had come at her and Tempest.

‘Can you knock a wolf out?’ She asked herself absently before bearing down on it again, just to be sure.  At this point, she was pretty sure it was dead, so she turned toward Tempest to try to get at the wolf attacking the woman.

 As Tess raised her sword over her head, trying to angle for a good swing that wouldn’t hit Tempest, she felt something slam into her back, taking a good bit of her breath.  She swore breathily and slammed the sword down on the wolf {wolf 5} attacking Tempest.

(as Beldin)

Summary: Beldin misses Wolf 6.

"Dogged" was a good word, Beldin decided, and doubly so when applied to fur-covered bastards who insisted on trying to bite him in the nethers. This time, he was ready for it, and he lowered his shield just in time to protect his more sensitive parts from the apparently inevitable attack. The wolf rebounded harmlessly off his shield. The satisfaction he felt at foiling the wolf's plans to make him a eunuch was vastly overshadowed by the frustration that followed it as he launched the most spectacularly ineffectual attack of his career. Were anyone watching, the sight might have inspired awe, or at least derision. Not only was his stroke off by a good 30 degrees, he managed to drive the edge into the mortar between the bricks of the wall, and wrenched his shoulder in the process.

And his eyes were going, too. One of the wolves attacking Bartha glittered oddly in the sunlight, and he was almost positive he saw bright flashes mere heartbeats before. He was definitely beyond his depth.

As she loaded her crossbow for her next shot, Rael heard Etienne hit the ground next to her. The Mage had managed to keep his footing, even if his face looked less than steady. "Well done," she said with a sideways glance and took aim at the beasts that gathered in front of Tessa and Tempest.

His chest might have swelled with pride as he ate up Rael's simple compliment. He had done something daring. Nay, something classy. Maker, would he have stories to tell when he went back to the Circle!

It was exactly the sort of confidence he needed to conjure up a glittering ball of magic. He wasn't the sort to attack -- oh, never. It wasn't in his style, or gall, to do something so bold. But neither was leaping from window sills.

With a growl, he threw his hand forward, the other one gripping his staff at his side. The golden ball quickly shifted into a sharp-tipped quill of glowing energy. It soared through the air and smacked the wolf {3} directly in the side.

Spoiler

EDIT: Use 4 stunt points for doubles (holy crap, that's a lot of doubles lol):

His mouth slid into a smirk as he watched the wolf yelp in offense. With a definitive nod, he flicked his wrist, sending the quill rebounding, striking the wolf again.

Spoiler

EDIT: To fix attack. Also +1 on attack via Stay Aware.

{If you're using Double Strike, as you would, since Arcane Lance uses the regular combat stunt table, not the spell table, you don't have to roll again. The second attack hits with exactly the same roll and does exactly the same damage as the first attack. Also, since Arcane Lance is technically a staff attack and not a spell, you have to apply the Armor Rating, so the -3 penalty to damage applies. Or, since you already rolled and you already know you attack hit, you can just take it as a Lightning Attack, applying your to hit and your damage (-3 for Armor) and take Stay Aware with your fourth Stunt Point, giving you a +1 bonus to your next Ability Test. Let me know what you want to do.}

Bartha waved her arms about and tried to kick some of the wolves around her angrily: of course to no avail, as they easily dodged her. She managed to pull her left arm away right before the snapping jaws of one wolf.

The throbbing pain in her neck and jaw, combined with the taste and smell of blood was making her feel nauseous. Being pinned down, facedown, by a wolf who seemed to have developed a taste for dwarven necks did not make it any better...  "Get off me you bloody nughumpers!" Again she felt a pair of jaws close around her neck, piercing muscles. Mustering her strenght, she managed to turn around on her back. "I'm not going to be puppy chow, so stop trying!" As if a battle of wills, one wolf grabbed her side and teared through her armor. Sharp teeth found soft flesh. Bartha grunted angrily and quickly got to her feet, readying her weapons to take revenge.

The spell Laurelin casted,worked in a rather spectacular manner.As the ice fractals that formed on the wolf's fur began to sparkle.But the beasts weren't discouraged by such displays of magic,nor the sharp blade of Beldin's battleaxe.They kept attacking as ferocious as ever.
So Laurelin decided to bring the storm upon them,once more.Not a literal storm,however,not yet...
Her staff was still raised in the air,from her previous attack when the blast of shock began to form.

Magic ability test
3d6+3 → [1,6,4,3] = (14)(success)

And so she casted shock on the same wolf.But as expected,the beasts that happened to be close enough,were also injured by the bolts.

{Wolf 3 is now DEAD. Wolf 8 is also attacking Bartha and is affected.

Wolves 13 and 14 pass through the area on their way to their targets and will also be affected. That is not an oversight on Laurelin's part. That's the unfortunate consequence of trying to represent something that happens on a continuum as individual snapshots, so that information was not available to her.}

Tempest couldn't stifle a shriek of pain as a wolf ripped into her thigh. Again, the injury wasn't life-threatening, but it burned and ached, and the sheer speed with which injuries were piling up worried her.

If I don't make it through this, Tempest prayed, Maker receive my soul, and Andraste grant your comfort and peace to my children.

Although Tempest considered herself first and foremost a healer, she couldn't heal her comrades while she was under a sustained attack herself. She wouldn't be able to concentrate, and she wouldn't last long if she didn't protect herself. Nor was healing herself going to be much use as a priority if the beasts continued damaging her as fast as she could fix it. There was no choice for it: she needed to fight.

Tempest cast an Arcane Bolt at the wolf that was attacking her. This time the spell was successful, in spite of the physical pain. Tempest had gotten used to ignoring discomfort over many years of her life, and there was a grim satisfaction in hitting back.

(Tempest casts Arcane Bolt at Wolf 5. 3d6+3=17 Damage:2d6=8 + Dragon Die, I can't remember which one we're calling that. )

{The first die rolled is the Dragon Die, 4 in this case. The wolf gets an Opposition Roll, Dexterity(Acrobatics) vs your Spellpower(13), to see if Arcane Bolt does the full damage or only 1d6.

Bartha looked around, taking some deep breaths to fight the nausea. Luckily there were wolves lying dead on the group, but more were still alive and they appeared to get reinforcements.

She noticed that one of the wolves that was attacking her before was now standing very still, although its posture would suggest that it should be moving. Its fur was sparkling like it was covered with a fresh layer of snow. Carefully she poked it with the tip of her dagger. No movement. ‘I must be hallucinating. Better be done with it.’ She raised a dagger and brought it down on the wolves shoulder. Perhaps it was the frozen state in which the wolf occurred, but the dagger failed to penetrate the wolves skin. Raising an eyebrow, she noticed drops of water on the wolfs breast, as if melting. She took the other dagger and stabbed the wolf’s breast with force. The blade sank deeply into the animal and pierced its heart. With a soft moan the animal collapsed, never to raise again.

{Bartha does 10 damage to wolf 8, killing it}.

Wolf Attack, Round 5

Wolf 5: misses Tessa (Right Upper Arm)

Wolf 6: misses Beldin (Left Wrist)

Wolf 9: bites Bartha for 4hp (Left Thigh)

Wolf 10: misses Tessa (Right Shoulder)

Wolf 11: bites Tessa for a total of 3hp (Hip/Groin/Buttock), initial damage for 1hp & Mighty Blow for 2hp, Knock Prone {Tessa's currently active Stay Aware entitles her to an Opposition Roll: Strength(Might) TN15, the wolf's attack roll}

Wolf 12: bites Tempest for a total of 12hp; initial 5hp (Left Upper Arm) + 7hp Lightning Attack (Right Upper Arm); Knock Prone, Lightning Attack {and Stay Aware, which gives it +1 on next attack; Tempest must spend Round 5 regaining her footing and may attack in Round 6}

Wolf 13: misses Rael (Right Shoulder) {would have been a Fabulous Fumble}

Wolf 14: misses Etienne (Environmental Injury) {meaning the attack would have caused Etienne to lose his footing or injure himself while trying to avoid it}

Tessa took a shaky deep breath and readied her sword for another attack.

As she raised it above her head, one of the wolves did its best to take a chunk out of her hip. She tried to pivot toward it as it knocked her flat.  Everything was suddenly all growls and snarls for Tess as she had the air knocked out of her, good and truly this time.

(as Beldin)

Summary: Beldin hits wolf 6 for 8 damage.

Beldin shuddered as electricity arced past, narrowly missing him. None of it struck him, but it was unnatural and alarming. There was some cloud cover, but no stormclouds to account for the glare. His gut did a slow, queasy roll at the thought of the magic that must be surging around him.

He was distracted, but so was the wolf attacking him. It nipped at his wrist, but its teeth closed short of the mark. His swing was less erratic, and cut a neat gash in the animal's shoulder.

The wolves moved quicker than Rael had anticipated. By the time she finished loading her crossbow, one of them was upon her. It hurled itself towards her neck, all fangs and foul breath. She managed to sidestep it, sending the creature flying past her. As she turned, she fired her shot at point blank range. The bolt embedded itself deep into the animal's skull, and the creature died before it fell. The beauty of her precise shot spurred the elf on and her fingers moved of their own accord to load another shot.
