I would be kinda annoyed if they gave Cassandra the Templar Spec

I think Cassandra is a Champion or at least a Tank companion. Because I have seen a sheild on her back serveral times.

Sten didn't have a specialization in Origins so maybe Cassandra needn't necessarily have one.
Since Cullen is a templar and can possibly teach us the Templar specialization, I don't think Cassandra will be getting the Templar specialization initially though she can probably learn it later.

Sten had one. She just only had one though (everyone else got two).

Sten didn't have one. There were a few companions that didnt, but you can give them one. I wonder if there will be companions like this in DAI.

Sten gets 1 specialization point at lvl 14 he doesn't have a spec by default.

Five of DAO specializations were not on a companion per default (Ranger, Duelist, Reaver, Arcane Warrior, Blood Mage). There was 12 specs and 10 companions. For DA2, the sibling used specialization from Hawke's pool, but the rest did not despite their being the exact same number of spec and companions (9, including Sebastian, so technically it's one less). They had their own "flavor" specialization based on existing ones (Isabela is a Duelist) or based on the character's background (Merrill has both blood magic and Keeper skills).
Both previous games had companions with custom specializations/skills and companions that used the same pool has the PC. Why does DAI needs now to have all the companions fit with the specificalization?

Looks like we aren't learning specializations from companions in DAI, which means they don't have to use them at all.

I really, really, really do not want companions to have the same specs as the Inquisitor. It really kills uniqueness. That being said, if they do happen to go that route (please maker, no) I'd say these are pretty accurate.
DA2 did it right with every companion having their own unique specialization, which also made Hawke feel unique
