Skyrim added these in its DLCs, can Bioware do the same? Would be great if they did.
Any plans for mounted combat and flying mounts in DLCs

Unlikely. Skyrim has a single map while we do not.

Just to correct you , Skyrim didn't add real flying mounts , you cannot just mount up and go fly off , land somewhere do your thing , get back on and back into the sky.

^Oh god, I hope not.
Feels like a pointless edition in DA and I have yet to see a game where it isn't crap

I'm a defender of Skyrim so I say this with with much love towards the game, but Skyrim's Dragonriding was awful in every sense of the word. And in a game filled to the brim with underdeveloped and/or flawed mechanics, to stand out in such a terrible way is quite the accomplishment.

Mounts in general are clunky in combat - flying mounts would probably be even more so.

Somehow I feel like flying mounts would take away from the experience and scale of things. We're supposed to be in awe and terror facing these marvelous and horrific creatures, riding them would probably trivialise them a lot...and I honestly think it would be a little too WoW
.
Thinking about mounted combat made me think about movement in combat. I remember playing DAO as an archer and as I remember, even tho the targetting system 'locks' you on target, you cannot move and fire. I wonder if DAI will support something like that, which would be more interesting than mounted combat.

Flying mounts could be interesting if you are taking on a dragon. Why wait for it to land or dodge fire from it while it is in the air? You can chase the dragon in the skies. Air combat would probably be even more exhilarating than ground fighting, assuming Bioware can do it well. You might even be fighting in the air against multiple enemies, like a flock of griffins. Plus, jousting would be interesting as a mini game.

No to the first and personally I believe flying mounts are overrated. If I can't fly all the way to the moon and taste it, what's the point. ![]()
(speaking typing from an mmo experience)
The only thing I can think of for a way in which mounted combat could be implemented, is if it was scripted and used maybe in a jousting competition (I don't know if this exists in DA) Outside of a scripted scenario..... DO NOT WANT

Why not a hovering griffon that's not actually flying

I don't mind getting off my horse in combat *if* the horse doesn't run away and die. Seriously, if I can't fight from horseback, please, please, please make my horse not try to attack dragons and then run away in terror and fall off a cliff.
