Started new game on 3, with some starting Renegade points from importing the previous Renegade saves (plus as Ruthless), but that wasn't even half a bar of red. Have been doing purely Paragon choices throughout whole game so far; just save Rachni queen (full Paragon whole mission) - I get done talking to Wrex once back on the Normandy, and it says I have +5 Renegade points...for some reason, choosing Pure Paragon path still gets me Renegade points???? It's put me over that first bar now, which blows because at this rate, choosing Pure Paragon will not give me enough paragon points to save both Quarians AND Geth later on (must have 4 full bars of one color to gain both). Any idea why this is happening? Never chose a neutral answer, never chose a renegade answer, only paragon. Does this happen to anyone else? I haven't had this happen before.
Morality - following pure Paragon path, yet keep getting Renegade points instead?

Paragon/Renegade score does not matter that much in ME3 except for some auto-dialogue (for instance, with Traynor when she mentions playing chess, or with EDI when she asks for moral guidance). What matters in ME3 is Reputation. Reputation is the total of your Paragon and Renegade points, in other words, how many bars of that scale you have filled, whether with red or blue doesn't matter. To achieve peace between the Geth and the Quarians you need to have four bars of Reputation which is easy, easy, easy to do. Just do fetch quests/side quests and talk to the crew.
Added: You are probably not gaining renegade points so much as gaining reputation points. Reputation points are used to multiply both your paragon and renegade scores, so as you gain more reputation points, both your paragon and renegade bars will grow in size.

oh, really? I swore before it took me 4 whole bars of only one color to gain both quarians/geth. But dang, if it's just 4 bars total, then sh*%. I could have punched Al Jilani after all. F word. lol

I pretty much played Goody Goody through all three (my femshep even has puppydog eyes that scream "Paragon")
Did two renegade things in 2 (zapped the guy working on the helicopter thingee in Garrus' recruitment and blew up the Krogans during Jack (or was it Mordin)'s loyalty mission)
My reputation was wicked high in three
