I tried to collect all the information on the Keep there is for now. I hope this helps people to answer their questions.

What is the Dragon Age Keep?

Within the Dragon Age Keep, you’ll be able to customize a Dragon Age historical world state to your exact specifications drawn from Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II story decisions. These include hero attributes, companion details, quest results, and more. Customize as much or as little as you wish. Then you'll be able to import your saved world state into Dragon Age Inquisition at the start of a new game. For new players, the Keep will serve as a great way to understand the people, places, and events that shaped the world leading up to DAI.

Will the Keep be available in other languages than english?

The Keep will be available in every language the game itself will be, too. (english, german, frensh, portuguese brazilian, spanish, italian, japanese, polish and russian)

What choices will be reflected?

We don't know much about that yet, but it will definetly be a lot of choices. Cameron Lee said, there will be 300+ choices in the Keep.

It will contain all choices from Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age: Awaikening, Dragon Age 2 and all DLCs, no matter if you have bought and/or played them.

If you leave some choices uncecked, they will be filled with a default decision. That goes for DLCs aswell, everthing has happend, one way or another.

What will it look like?

We don't know about that as of now, but it won't be just some checkboxes. There will be some kind of cinematics and kodex entries whithin the Keep to explain what was happening and what outcomes the decisions cause.

Will there be traditional Save-Game-Import?

No!

Why not?

There were many bug issues from DA:O to DA2. This is the easiest way to do it. Furthermore the Keep gives people, who are switching platforms or people who lost their saves the opportunity to re-build their world states. And it also give people new to the franchise the opportunity to create a world state and learn about the lore of Thedas.

What's the Default-World-State?

A female Dalish Elf Warden, who made the Ultimate Sacrifice, Alistair is King of Fereldan. And a Mage Hawke, who sided with the Mages.

Will I be able to import my world state to the Keep and customice it?

They're still looking into it, but I seems it won't be possible. You'll have to start from scratch.

Will there be a CC to re-create my Warden and/or Hawke?

No! (Not in the Keep. Should your Heroes from previous Games show up, you will have the opportunity to change their looks, but that will happen in-game!)

How can I access the Keep?

The Keep is a website. You should  be able to access the Keep with any browser, even on a cell phone or tablet. You just have to log into your Origin Account and then you can save your world states.

How many World States can I store in the Keep?

As of now you can store up to 5 World States. One of them you set to be your active World State.

How can I import my world state from the Keep into the game?

When you start a new game in Dragon Age: Inquisition, you can log into your Origin Account and choose to import your active World State.

Is there an offline solution?

No. As of now, there is no option to downloade any file and import it via USB. You have to be online to import your world state, then you can go offline.

When will the Keep launch?

No release date yet. Approximately a month before DA:I.

Also see the Blog Post.

Here is a little FAQ by Fernando Melo and here is another FAQ in the 'News and Announcements' section.

All done with this wave of invites - hopefully that got to some of you.  Better luck on next one to the rest.

Also, just to help with some common questions/conversations, in no particular order:

- DA Keep will launch before DAI.  Sometimes we will figuratively say 'month' or 'months' but at the end of the day, there is no exact date yet.  We have our target obviously which is in that timeframe, but the real date will be determined as we get closer to that target.  It will depend on many things including how our beta testing is going, and how/when in the DAI communications plan is the right time to talk about it, and ultimately how soon before DAI to open the doors to all.  Believe me, once we have a date locked we will definitely make that known.

- DA Keep is alive and well.  We've been letting in beta users since late Dec.  Purposefully, the numbers were very small to begin with.  That helped us ensure even bare basics like beta login and feedback mechanisms (critical for a successful beta) were all in place and working as intended.  The lower numbers also meant it was easier to collect more qualitative/verbose feedback on features, and react early enough to that.  As we get closer to launch, we can now let in more and more users with each wave.  Ultimately, as we get ready to open doors to all, we'll shift more into load testing where we will be letting in the largest waves of users.

- Why do I still not have an invite?  I wish it was possible to just let everyone in, as it is awesome to see so many of you genuinely interested in participating.  But a few logistical reasons: 1) We don't select by date applied - so applying on day 1 does not guarantee you're first in.  2) Depending on what they are looking to test on any given wave, the team will select applicants that match that criteria (that could everything from level of experience with previous games, to what you wrote in your app).  3) From that group, the team then randomly picks out a rough target number of users for the wave.  Again, depends on what they want to test, and accounts for enough % of folks that may not respond in time. 4) Odds.  Even as we're adding more beta users and increasing the size of each wave, we continue to get more beta applications - so I would guesstimate that we are probably around 3-5% ratio of beta users to applicants.  This will continue to get better over time as we add more and more users, but that is a big factor in why so many have not yet received an invite - reality is that the majority have not, sadly.  Not yet anyway.  ;)

- DA Keep does not use any files whatsoever.  There's no import (although we are still continuing to look at this, the priority remains with getting the rest in place and solid), and there is no file based export.  That means you don't copy any files around, or use a USB or anything like that.  You login to DAI, opt to sync from Keep and DAI grabs the data it needs, and you're done (you can actually logoff/disconnect at that point if you want, and can play rest of DAI with no further Keep logins needed until you want to start another game and import a new world in).

- "Lots"™ of choices.  Mark mentioned in an interview that there are over 300 so far, which is accurate, and we continue to add more at the request of the beta users so far.  Obviously (I think), not everything will be reflected in DAI.  The purpose of Keep is to capture your world as faithfully as we can for future use.  Before we launch we'll reveal more info on Keep, and as part of that I'd like to get you a better idea of what you can expect.

(semi-legaleeze) Make a note of the time and date of this post - this info is correct as of 'right now'.  Plans do change though, and we may need to revise those statements over time, but for now that is where we are at. (/semi-legaleeze)

I am confused. I thought I read somewhere (some comments from Darrah, maybe??) that it was possible to save the generated file on a USB key and then use this (if console version) to start your new, configured playthrough.

Are we absolutely certain this won't be possible?

Did I dream this information?

I'm not sure where people got the impression, that this was confirmed. It was just a suggestion by fans.
Fernando states in his FAQ, that it's not possible. Sorry :(

Just me being an annoying perfectionist so I apologize before hand, but there are a few misspelled words (imports, import, for ex.) in the above explanation. Other than that I really like this and think it has really been needed for people who haven't kept up with Keep info. Good job! :3

Save imports are still being discussed, but The Keep really feels like a more stable system and it can be used will all platforms (Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, PC) anyways. There's also more possible plot choices that are taken into consideration for Inquisition, than traditional save imports.

Hope people actually read this before making a new thread about save game importing.

Will we be able to just start a game with a preset history/no history or we will have to use the keep first? While importing is fun and all, I've played DA2 both with imported and preset backstory and it wasn't that different. Just a few cameos and some nods and the important ones were from Awakening. I don't think that DAI's gonna be any different in the end.

I'm guessing we will be able to, just asking for clarity.

Of course there is a pre-built history. Known details are in the OP.

I would rather them have the ability for me to somehow upload my saves into keep to be processed and carried over into Inquisition.
From a programmer's aspect, it wouldn't be too hard.  Just create software or an application on the console or PC that uploads your saves to the Keep, it takes those saves and sets all your decisions and conditions and actions, then saves it to be used for Inquisiton.

I just feel like if I had to "rebuild" my story in Keep that many of the little decisions or actions or conversation's I've had may not be properly carried over.

I'm really intrigued  to see how minor the minor choices are.

If it were easy, they'd be doing it, surely?

The programming team are busy enough getting the Keep to work properly, and creating an application for consoles would need some sort of patch - which generally costs tens of thousands of dollars to put on Xbox Live or PSN.

There are also legal issues, Microsoft and Sony normally retain ownership of the save files and Bioware aren't allowed to open or modify them. Fernando Melo explains it in the first link in the OP.

I am not terribly upset at the idea The Keep not being able to import games. I'll likely be able to reconstruct my games just fine. Plus, I've had a fine time trying to keep my saves alive across two separate hard drives. <_<

I also like that I can go and tinker with the world state and make choices I might not make in gameplay without having to run through entire games, especially DA2 because while it was OK, it lacked replay value for me.

My husband likes that he'll be able to use his smartphone to tinker with a save if he happens to be at work with a few minutes.

I hope this works anywhere near as well as they describe.

Seeing as not every little thing was carried over to DA2 to begin with (we've seen the flags, there was not even close to 300 of them and some flags where missing ala there is no flag for upgrading the keep so saving the city means any companions left where considered dead) The Keep not only has around 300 flags/choices, it also allows people to have an Awakening world state with a warden who did the sacrifice(something not possible without the keep)

So if it uses my Origin login... Is that the same login info I use for the forum? If not, then I'm in trouble because I've forgotten in that case. If it's the same info as the forum though, I'm good.

Yes it should be the same, unless your using a different account for your games.

I'm not. Okay, should be easy to login then. So it works by going to the site and logging in, setting my "canon" up, then the next time I play the game while it's connected to the PSN (in my case) will make it automatically apply the canon to that playthrough?

Tbh, I'm not sure about PSN, I play on PC only. When you start a new game you can import you world-state from the Keep. If you're not logged in, it will probably prompt you to do so.

Don't worry so much ;) They haven't released much on the Keep, yet. In due time they will, and we can all access it before the game launches!

Being connected to the PSN just means he is connected to the internet on his console; however the PSN has nothing to do with choosing to use the Keep, it uses your Origin account not your PSN account.  When you start a new game, if you are connected to the internet, you will have the option of having that Keep world state applied to that new game you are starting.  After that initial "hey use the Keep to set up my world state" you can disconnect if you want.

Please do not post in old threads with no new information. There is already a thread for this topic so I am going to lock this one down.
