So to be constructive about it:
If we have a multiplayer, and if you would like to see a multiplayer, what sort of multiplayer would you like to see?
- I request we avoid possible leaks on this thread.
- Also, if you don't want multiplayer, that's respected and its inclusion should not be allowed to have any impact on your single player game. Got that.
- just for a little while it would be great to discuss what multiplayer could be like, not discussing ME3 war assets and MP dislike again, at least just for a couple of pages please.
I've gone into great detail about the potential of a multiplayer mode within the appropriate thematic and setting elements of Dragon Age: Inquisition, I'm not sure if I did in this particular thread though.
Basically I imagine it framed in a similar way to Mass Effect 3, in that the Multiplayer essentially represents the "Expendable" troops of the Inquisition. Players would (hopefully) create a unique (Or a few, similar to most modern Multiplayer FPS loadout builders) Inquisition soldier(s) and engage in a variety of operations cooperatively with up to four other players. Each player would control only one character in the Real-Time style combat of DA:I (As in, no tactical mode or pause+play) so to that effect, the gameplay would be like an MMORPG Raid.
I know you specifically asked not for this ME3 asset kind of thing to be discussed, but I feel I have to mention it in a minor capacity, I'll spoiler it to prevent unintentional buzzkills.
In more optimistic breakdowns, the crafting and customization engine they've touted but not yet shown in any significant capacity has great potential for a progression model, and definitely a potential compulsory factor in Multiplayer that could drive long-term investment and probably be exploited to a great degree for micro-payment monetization.
The Optimist I try to keep buried, but finds his way to the surface any time I've had a few too many beers envisions great battles against Dragons and other Colossal enemies made all the more rewarding by taking part in a cooperative effort with other people, or long-duration raids in entire DA:I sized zones where you must balance your party resources, personal time investment and ability in order to prioritize which objectives your team should complete and which opportunities your expeditionary force should seek out.
