honestly the BioWare forum is not a place that lets grief and trauma subside very quickly...
Aside of Rule 34, as any thread increases in length the chances that it will continue without reference to the ME3 A,B,C endings approaches zero...
Which just seems so strange to me. The pre-release Origins forums were very pleasant, if memory serves....perhaps it doesn't...I am getting quite old.
In any case, irrespective of what is or isn't revealed in the weeks prior to release, thank you for trying to keep the discussion in this thread polite. Since DA2 announcement of a voiced protagonist that was human only, discussions like that have been in short supply.
It's a good read and generally says the campaign seems to be super duper and great and all that. But at the end of the article he says there is a new announcement for this month, that he obviously knows about and im assuming other journalist know about but are under NDA about it. So.. there apparently is something else this month.
Now, may not be MP, might be MP, who knows. But I can't see that guy being super excited about a mobile app for a single player game. Just sayin'...
This is exciting news!
I am very eager to get my hands on the SP for DA:I, but I have been holding out for an addition of MP to make this the perfect fantasy RPG (IMO).
Now its true that we don't know what the unannounced content is, but like you said Adhin, I don't know what can be revealed in the upcoming weeks that would be a huge addition to SP; especially since BioWare has said that they aren't doing Day 1 DLC.
Regardless, I am eagerly awaiting the upcoming announcement (conformation of MP or not); anything that adds to the overall variety and enjoyment of DA:I (MP included) is only a good thing in my book.
I strongly believe they have learned from their ME3 mistakes and that if they made MP effect SP in any way it will be something very minor... Like a stat bonus... Not something that effects the story.
I just pictured the Iron Bull, Sera and Cassandra in a kart race...
I think even something like that even a few more gold coins to spend in SP would throw people.
If it's there it should remain completely separate and not tied in to sp at all.

Some people would consider a stat bonus quite a bit more significant than a 5 second ambiguous addition to the final cutscene. I don't there will be any incentive at all. In fact after reading the ending completion rate thread I am wondering whether they will put in an incentive the other way around ie finish the single player game and automatically unlock one random loot chest.
While I believe when a game, at a fundamental level the SP and MP are different entities (ME3 for instance, or CoD, or... vast majority of games with MP), shouldn't have any effect on each other in either direction. I would tell people that while smiling everytime I got more loot for my MP side via playing SP. Cause I'm gonna SP the crap outa that game and if it has MP I'll end up MP'ing the crap outa that too.
So yeah I don't think either one should effect the other but I'd totally dig it if the SP helped MP progression faster. I do personally believe it's a bigger issue going the other way simply on the fact it's got a heavy story with the campaign. Having the story sped up or slowed down via some other influence outside of that portion of the game always just feels super dirty. Getting bonus lewts cause I play SP a lot when I get to MP feels less dirty and more rewardy. I'd be down for that.

That's how Batman: Arkham Origins did it, you complete a single player side quest and you get that game's MP version of a Premium Spectre Pack. Now while I wasn't super thrilled with the competitive MP in Batman, I did really enjoy the optional incentive to trying out MP that the game had.
The plan might have been to reveal it at Gamescom, but with the delay they probably want to push it back a bit to keep with the schedule relative to release date.
Holding it until closer to the date can create a lot more buzz heading into release season versus it picking up steam and dying off 3-4 weeks out.
A lot of this right here. MP is going to make a lot of noise. Louder and wider the most anything else imho. If they don't drop that bombshell at E3 before they were pretty sure the game was coming in the biggest buying season (The only other BW game to drop in that time since DAO was TOR) then it seems smarter to wait till the big marketing push begins.
There are those that would like some form of MP like the optione to co-op, those that are generally indifferent on the subject (me) and those that the mere idea of it send them into fits of rage. Guess what group I have a bias about and would like to not have a leg to stand on if there is no MP in DAI?. Just so there might be a little bit less of them repeating themselves till DA4 if that happens.

Intriguing.
"There's more Inquisition coverage on the way later this month, including a big announcement that I can't wait to share."
Just want to say, I'm not super excited at the idea of multiplayer, but there are three things I want if it is there
1) Goals
I don't like ME3's "do random things and kill things" approach. I'm totally cool witch retrieving an info dump, what i don't like is that we do that, than fight some things, elimnate some enemies in a time limit, kill more things, and then get picked up.
2) Class differences/non-combat skills
I'll take either, but I'd like both. What I mean is that all your class in ME3 meant was how you fought. Could we have the engineer's omnitool be better at powering the drone, because it's more powerful, soldiers able to protect team-mates, but changed for DA.
3) Non-Vital rewards
I don't want to feel required to play Inquisition, like Galactic Readiness did. I want to earn extra resources I can use in Inquisition, that will help me spread Infulence, but don't change the ending. Let me fight to defend a mine and when I'm done I get 15 iron for my inquisitor to use for soldiers' weapons or something.
“The burden of leadership is one of the themes of the game. This is the first time we’ve really put you in a leadership position. We’ve put you in, kind of, command positions in the past, but not really in a place where you’re actually in control of an organization that has to go out and do things.”
"You’re still the one going and doing most of the fighting. You’re using them more as the force that comes in behind you to hold the territory, to clean up, and give you that extra bit of oomph when you need it."
“[The war table is] one of the mechanisms by which you lead the Inquisition, you issue orders to the Inquisition, you send your agents out there to do the different types of missions, and rebuild parts of the world."
“You will meet characters of note who will join your Inquisition.”

This is how I picture MP in DA:I to function; players filling the roles of one of the Inquisitor's agents. The wording in the second article, specifically the part about having the agents helping to hold territory immediately brings to mind a "Castle Defense" scenario.
Maybe the use of MP could be used to help offset the Inquisitor's need to rush to the aid of every single fortification that falls under attack, by giving the player more time to deal with situation. Imagine the demo from last year's PAX conference, in the video we are told that the player would have to make a choice about defending the village or saving the keep; or that if they were quick enough, the player would be able to deal with both. What if playing the MP gave players more time to resolve the conflict and rescue both locations? I am not saying that the effort to save both the village and the keep would be impossible without MP, just that it would be easier and less time sensitive if the player has Agents defending their holdings.
Granted, that might be too much of a bonus for SP/MP interaction, but I think it would be cool if there was some interaction between the two modes. One thing I would definitely love to see would be an 'import' feature for the characters created in MP to be brought into the SP world. Ideally, this would be more player controlled than ME 3's promotion mechanic was handled. Instead of a general pot, I would like to see a save list of the player's SP games, allowing them to choose which world state the Agent is going to. No need for an extra stat boost, or bonus agent points, I would perfectly content with a 'model swap' for one of the faceless, vanilla agents to one of my MP creations. This way there is no unfair advantage given to MP users, as the MP mode is (in essence) an optional customization feature; people can use it to enhance their roleplaying by having an Inquisition staffed by dwarves for their dwarf Inquisitor.
While I am not avid mp guy I do enjoy it in small spurts. Bioware used to show things and then they would get cut or altered. So now they have a firm don't show it until it is ready rule. So if they are waiting to show it I assume it is because they want to make sure it is complete and in game.
As for the announcement. It could be a phone app for DAI for all we know. That seems to be a trend of late.
