Yeah, ME3's MP gameplay is just a tweaked version of the singleplayer - it's incredibly fun, and they didn't compromise on either version by having to make one pauseable and one real-time.

A DA:I MP that focused on team combat in real-time with three or so special abilities/powers/spells per class could be very addictive.

By the way, from another thread:

We haven't announced what the bonus digital content is yet. Again, this will be a lot closer to release, before we can talk about it.

They could be simply making it DLC. Completely optional, problem solved.

Me 3 mp was great, except the aforementioned problems tying to the single player. Way to high EMS was a problem I experienced after playing a lot of MP. I wanted to see some low EMS endings but was unable to.

It was funny playing the single player ME3 game after a ton of MP. Impossible seemed so incredibly easy :D (except the arena challenges from citadel). It seemed so hard before.

Also, make a Turian ghost class with Cerberus Harrier X please.

I am assuming there will be MP in DAI unless they explicitly state otherwise. I enjoyed ME3 MP, except I detested that they linked it to the single-player game. That should NEVER happen. Those who dislike MP should never have to feel compelled to do it to "fix" the single-player story.

With that said, I trust the DA team completely and I think if they do make a Dragon Age MP, I will probably end up loving it. ^_^

Honestly if they cannot say outright the game will not have multiplayer, even though its about to launch in less then 3 months, says to me that there will be multiplayer. kinda off odd they are still being so coy with it.

Not really it fits the marketing for the game in general which has been understated compared to DA2.

And if they want to "show rather than tell", waiting until everything is polished before revealing it is a good option.

They might even be purposefully releasing loads of information and gameplay videos about the singleplayer to get people excited (and to prove that it's good) before unveiling MP.

I also loved ME3 multiplayer, but I think it would be hard to implement.  I personally would love a Baldur's Gate/Neverwinter Nights type co-op, where another player can play with companions.

Based on what I've seen so far, it looks like single player being prepped for multiplayer. Have no fear, MP is coming.

Dragon age 2 was a rush job thats why it did not have any marketing

Glad to hear it was not just me. Long after I completed play throughs of ME3, I played the MP component. I worked my butt off trying to get SOLO Platinum runs etc. It was great fun. Recently, I decided to play the SP game again, and it just seemed so easy, even on Nightmare.

I did not bother with the MP component of ME3 my first two play throughs of the ME3 game. And yes it does tie in lightly with the story in a small way. However, you could completely win the game without have stepped foot in the MP play. It was never required.

If Bioware does MP for Dragon Age, I really hope it is as classy as it was for ME3.

Am i the only one GLAD to have no multiplayer? This is EA we are talking. Shutting down of servers every 1-2 years. I wont miss a bit if the game has no multiplayer.

It was not required, but it was the only way to get a 'good' ending

The Mass Effect 3 servers are still up after two an a half years and the recent amount of servers that were shut down were because of Gamespy shutting them down. Even with Gamespy being shutdown a lot of those games are still playable with multiplayer the match making service is just no longer available.

And if EA did do something to fix the multiplayer of those games I can just imagine the outrage that it would now require Origin to play those games like most of the ones that have been "saved" from Gamespy now requiring Steam.

F@*k multiplayer

I'm extremely over useless multiplayer tacked on . this is a single player game since everyone can not be the inquisitor in the same game.

and I hate games like tomb raider, dead space, last of us that tacked on a multiplayer shooting grid just for the sake of getting ppl to play, instead of doing that spend ur time adding extra stuff to the game and not taking up space to do a death match

I think there are bearable ways to create a link.  I'm a fan of the idea that "promoted" MP characters would model swap with some generic Inquisition soldiers in the main game.

Same here. It would help add an (optional) layer of customization and personalization to your forces if you could bring your promoted characters over to a chosen SP save.

I would not trust any link of any kind.  No matter how small.

I wouldn't even trust having to install it to play the SP.  That's already too strong a connection.

This is where I differ from a lot of people.  I like playing mp as short burst of games that don't take long even if they are more hoard mode and pretty simplistic.  I don't like playing through a single player experience co-op.  BioWAre games are companion and story driven games and I just don't think they lend themselves to that kind of coop well.

ME3 servers are still going and though they may not last forever I have found that ME3 mp has been a very good bridge between BioWare games.  It's also a good bridge for BioWare and EA to build to keep players minds on their game, their forums etc.

It probably is phobic.

But I preordered ME3 despite misgivings about MP being in a primarily single player game.  And I got burned rather badly by that.

Might not be MP's fault.  But if I had listened to my misgivings beforehand, well, I might have saved myself a lot of anger, not to mention some money.

Now I'm really twitchy about any supposedly "primarily single player" game with a MP component.

Blaming mp on 99% of the ills of ME3 is just foolish.  It really is.  It reeks of someone having made up their mind on an issue before hand and shoehorning their preconceptions to fit.  ME3 mp made one error, that being linking it to the war readiness and thus the one ending.  They corrected that in a patch but the damage was done.  Other than that Mp had almost nothing to do with the usually listed grievances of ME3.

In my case, my initiall instinct then was to walk away when MP was announced.  But I extended trust, and that trust was...not rewarded.

It may not have been MP's fault.  Not entirely, at least.  but it was what set my spidey-sense tingling before release.  And if I had listened then, I wouldn't have had to deal with any of ME3's ills.

So yeah, it's not rational.  Since if ME3 had been awesome I'd certainly be more at ease with MP being in future games.  But trust is slow to return.

Well, if it's paid DLC, you'll have a limited audience of people that buy it.

Small multiplayer populations don't do well.

It should be a part of the main game, really.

Yeah, dividing your MP population via paywalls is not conductive to long lived multiplayer. ME 3 did a great job in keeping the MP fresh and exciting, and all without forcing people to buy the new content.

Optional free DLC also makes no sense.

At least having it on the disc in the main menu means some people will try it out of curiosity.

(And if it's in DA:I, and decoupled from the singleplayer like many people seem to want, then getting people to play it might be a concern for the team. Why make that worse by making it DLC?)
