There's still bonus content for Deluxe (tba).

Exclusive content for Xbox (tba) and

'big announcement' according to Destructoid

It will just be nice to get those out of embargo so we can discuss what's there rather than what might be there.

88 days to go...

From what I have learned from how games have been reported over the last couple of years is you can't trust any website not to blow any little detail out of proportion to generate click revenue.  I got tired of seeing major "articles" based around two or three tweets and then speculating on those few hundred words is going to spell out the entire game.

I don't think it's a stretch to assume though, iakus, that you probably aren't their typical customer.

I don't think anyone on this forum is. You said it might strike people as dishonest to unveil MP after plugging SP for a year.

But who has been paying attention for an entire year now? A tiny percentage of Inquisition's future player-base, who aren't even the people targeted most by marketing.

For the millions of other people who are only now just starting to think about what to buy in November or December, an MP reveal is just an announcement of another game feature. It's hardly incongruous with the earlier stuff if they haven't been paying attention to it.

Yep. Nothing's fixed probably means "we're working on it but we won't say anything until the work goes one way or the other". Hopefully, they will get MP to work and not let the effort go to waste.

Bioware, is there a toolset? "No"

Bioware, is there a CC in the Keep? "No"

Bioware, is there a tactical camera? "Yes"

Bioware, is there day 1 story DLC? "No"

Bioware, is there fast travel? "Yes"

Bioware, is there MP? "We are not ready to comment at this time"

We know from past sources that it take 3 months from content completion to:

'bug-fix, certify, manufacture, and ship game discs.' (reference to Mass Effect but I have no doubt the same principle applies across BioWare)

https://twitter.com/...503190946856961

So whatever is shipping on the 18th November is known, finished and is in the game or known to not be in the game.

It's simply too late to be still making decisions about what's in the game.

So barring a simple comment that: 'no, DAI does not have multiplayer content'

then what else could prevent the status of multiplayer being 'fixed' other than: 'a marketing reveal'?

And what is Cameron Lee supposed to say to that question if asked directly?

With less than 3 months to launch, any answer that is not 'no' is hard to pull off.

The answer: "at this point, there’s nothing fixed." makes no sense from a development perspective, if this were said a year ago, it would.

The reviewer immediately picked up on and understood that however: 'Nothing to announce. Okay.'

How far in advance was ME3's MP announced? Anyone remember? Not that it makes any difference, I'm just curious.

About 5 months in advance

They waited a while before revealing ME3's MP but it wasn't nearly this long.

I maintain that if the 'big' announcement due later this month ISN'T the multiplayer, then there won't be MP in the game.

Five or so months beforehand, if I remember correctly.

(It's actually kinda fun to go looking for other cases where this phrase has been used for something that later turned out to be true.)

From the combat Q&A, thought this sounded interesting:

Are there any missions in game that might unlock new spells/abilities for our character, or will it solely be a level up system? —Kristen Coates, Facebook

[MD]: There is one…

[ML]: Mark's being cryptic about one particular element of the game, so I won't spoil that, but I will say that specializations are earned, not granted for free.

Sounds like specializations are unlocked by doing a particular mission.

I don't think they would make a specialization available only through multiplayer after the ME3 fiasco.

"Do all mage followers have good healing spells or will some be better at it than others? —Josh Rodrigues, Facebook, United States
[MD]: We are focusing more mage tactics on defensive abilities (like Barrier) than healing."

I realize I'm grasping at straws here, but switching focus to defensive rather than healing made me think MP.

I hope not I couldn't stand the hollering on these forums for weeks on end.  (I wouldn't blame people for hollering either.)

ID DA:O Specializations had to be unlucked throughout the game.

For mages I think it was Wynn: Spirit healer

Blood Mage: Redcliffe Demon

Arcane warrior: Spirit in Forest

Shipshifter: Morrigan

I think that was it for them all. I stand to be corrected though, it's been a while. LOL

Mage healing spells being cut back sounds very much like it was done with MP in mind though.

There was also Reaver being learned from Kolgrim in the cultists temple (Sacred Ashes).

I'm glad to hear they're at least partially going this route, although, I would hope they follow Origins style for the unlocking - in that, once you unlock Reaver in a playthrough, it is automatically available for all subsequent playthroughs and then you can still do the quest for it - for the XP or the enjoyment if you want - or not if you didn't particularly like the quest itself.

With regards to the mage focus shifting - I reluctantly agree that it sounds more like a balancing thing for MP.

Mage healing spells were cut back because they wanted limited healing for gameplay purposes, health doesn't regenerate to add danger to gameplay. Potions were also cut back for that reason and that has nothing to do with MP. It was an across the board cutback of all healing sources.

Giving mages their old healing capacity back would have completely undermined that and made mages feel absolutely mandatory.

I don't think so either. I feel that if it was directed at MP in anyway, that there is a separate unlocking system in MP compared to the SP.

Or maybe there is a NG+ mode where the unlocks are different.

They've clarified that the exclusive content is the first singleplayer DLC.

Xbox owners get it early.

For some reason they included the word SINGLEPLAYER. Who knows why?

What's interesting? That they may go back to the Origins style of unlocking Specializations, instead of just doling them out as in DA ][? They surely won't, after ME 3, think it's a good idea to require MP for them.

I'm curious too, however, about the comments further down thread about how cutting back on healing makes anyone think MP? Especially since, as was pointed out, they've already said they were cutting back healing to make the game more challenging? Next thing we all know, saying you can craft xx item is going to be a sure fire indicator that MP is in, for some reason or another...
