Actually, speaking as one of the SP advocates, in this hypothetical "You can do it through SP or MP scenario" I wouldn't mind if it was faster in MP than it is in SP as long as its not some ridiculous disparity where its a tooth-grinding 10 hour chore to do the SP equivalent of what, say, 30 minutes of MP will get you.It does make some sense narrative wise that if you're calling in the aid of other players, you'll get things done faster.
Yeah I totally agree.
I doubt I'd even notice if something took a little longer in SP. I tend to try and look under every rock in an area and attempt to find everything anyway. They've made a huge world to explore, I intend to explore all that I can find.
Hell, I'll probably dedicate one of my game sessions on crafting alone, and see how much of that I can get down, see what I can and can't do there.
I'm sure I'm not alone there either in wanting to explore and just see what's under the next rock.
I kind of hope MP is there now, but the SP game is so damn good and huge, that these debates about MP negatively affecting SP can be put to rest for good.
I get that people felt burned by ME3 - myself included, but that mistake has long since been corrected, and BioWare won't be doing that again. The original classic, Baldurs Gate had MP, and it's still a fine game today afterall.
For all we know, an MP side could even make the SP side better than what it would have been. Two teams co-developing areas know that there work will be shared across both.
