Meh. There is a different between hiding something for an announcement, and being sneaky.

I've seen a lot of people think that building a good SP and MP is mutually exclusive. Take Biower's statements of "commitment to the best SP experience possible" as an admission that this is tacked on or that they're ashamed of MP and thats why it sucks and has made the entire game suck.

I'm sorry, I'm not entirely sure I follow what you're saying in this response. Could you clarify? I'm particularly confused on what your personal stance is, if that is indeed what you've tried to convey to me.

If a dev made something so personally traumatic as to be triggerable, I have to think it would be really, really stupid to go back for another.

Sometimes when I'm mobile and my phone has ~3% battery life remaining I roll with words I should not use so freely. I doubt iakus actually suffers ME3 PTSD.

Moreover I was defending someone I consider a friend, despite our stark differences in interpretation of the Mass Effect 3 experience. I didn't really think it was too cool to be asking "how's iakus" like that, singling him out like he's the only person with his opinions. I know he's headstrong about them, but hey, ask me what I thought of Final Fantasy XIII sometime.

The haters keep on hating.  :(  There is nothing I can do for you.  You are lost to the wind, and I bid you a fond farewell and hope you find joy in other adventures.

But I am pretty soaked from the DAMP.  I was pretty hesitant on Mass Effect 3 MP and it just blew me away how solid it was.  Great single player experience, Great multiplayer experience was a complete win/win in my book.

I really hope Dragon Age Inquisition keeps the experience going.  Because THIS kind of multiplayer (a fantasy-role-playing realm) is something I haven't experienced in a long long time.  And I got messages from people on BSN and from work asking me for groups already??  Oh man.

Congratulations on the announcement BioWare!  You have my Sword!   ... and my dagger, and staff ..oh and my axe.. probably a blunt instrument of some kind as well.

"I love the idea of only one spec! That makes it so much more important! And a more limited skill set is great because it becomes more tactical what I upgrade versus having all the power! Biower ur so luvlee!"

to

"THIS IS ****** BULLSHIT! THE ONE SPEC IS JUST SO THEY CAN BE LAZY AND TACK ON A MP MODE WITHOUT EXTRA WORK! BUNCH OF DICKS! AND THIS IS WHY SP SKILLS ARE LIMITED OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY'D DO THIS TO ME!"

...  .....Is this true? If it is it sad and hilarious at the same time.

It's true of most games I would say that have had a change(in other words, most games).

Suddenly everything is bad because of that change for some people.

And here's the elusive PAX schedule.

(clearly we now know why it was elusive...)

"Multiplayer runs sort of parallel to the Inquisitor’s story -- you’re working for the Inquisitor, running behind-the-scenes Operations with a squad. “One of the things that came out of early explorations is that we wanted the multiplayer characters to be characters,” Laidlaw said. BioWare didn’t want templatized, boring heroes lacking personalities. “They’re kind of like mini followers, and they banter among themselves.”" x

So at first I was "meh" but this... So they have banter and unique personalities? I hope we get to learn more about them cause I really like this idea and am now excited to see who our lil Agents are. :D

Also interesting the IGN article mentions 9 MP chars, while the FAQ on the site says 12.

i do like the sound of that, i must say. i'm going to be doing several pure sp runs first, tho, before i get to any mp. so i hope there's some kinda rotating noob lobby ( cuz even bronze after awhile in me3--ppl were already familiar w/the maps and the nooks and crannies and overpowered). it sucks coming in as the only noob. :P

i did have a blast w/me3 mp--for the few months i played it on and off. met sum cool ppl. really cool ppl. it was good fun. so fine. cool. whatever.

tho, my biggest hope for this da mp--(cuz really, i can't call it "DAMP"..cuz...no..such an unfortunate acronym) is that it will bring more ppl to the wonder of the DA verse in general. More ppl = more money/success. more money and success--hopefully--means more games like the SP DAI for me.

yes, it always comes back to me. :P ;)

My only real question at the moment is how these attribute points gained from promotions will work.  That concerns me because I don't particularly enjoy leveling.  I just like to max my character out and have fun playing and learning to utilize the build I've created to the best of my ability.  I don't want to be pressured into continuous leveling.  That was what I really liked about ME3, that promotion was just for a number that had no impact on gameplay.

I assume there would be a max amount of attribute points you can gain, so I don't guess it will be an endless leveling experience.  Even so... hmm.

Sounds like a fun addition, and I find the approach they're taking with this co-op mode to be interesting. I usually play co-op stuff with my two besties when we have the same game(s), so I guess I'll have to work on making sure that they get DA:I too. :P

I know a lot of non USA players complain about all the game conferences being held in America but this dang country is so big and how crappy/expensive our transportation options are that it might as well be in another country for most of us.  Heck I'm even on the West Coast and even going cheap would still be an expensive prospect.

Would be nice to hear about MP from the devs own mouths and in person, hopefully panels will be recorded.

Oh I'm sure, it was just too easy to poke since you did use that word.

And I'm sure whoever said that was simply concerned about their dear friend just like you are, no worries.  <3

I'd prefer just not to take any of it too seriously. I'm still like:

Just noticed, the Mass Effect multiplayer 'Manifest' has changed to 'N7 HQ'.

http://social.bioware.com/n7hq/m/home (ME3 MP players will have the own links of course)

It has also changed to a more app-friendly format.

I assume to sit nicely alongside the new 'Inquisition HQ'

I imagine that anyone wanting to see what the 'Inquisition HQ' app would look like could

take many clues from the recently redesigned 'N7 HQ'.

More and more bad news piling up. :/ I really hope that is not the case. I'm wishing on futile stars that it's only things for SP.

It's just how these things tend to go from what I've seen. It would have been something pretty small regardless, but yeah, SP is always better.

Maybe it's for both which is why it could not be discussed yet...

DAMP eh? I am totally okay with this....in fact... more than okay! I didn't care either way if DAI added MP or not but, now that it's out there I can't wait to dive in. ME3 MP held all sorts of fun for me and I met an awesome group of people that I stay in touch with after nearly two and a half years.

SP already has armor, mounts, weapons, a big chair and some other ish. Plus it comes with the soundtrack and something else I think. Tossing in a couple MP packs isn't anything worth crying over.

I'm a bit curious about that as well. I am on the other view though, I think it will be an endless leveling experience. It gives an incentive to keep improving your character which was lost in ME3 after you max your manifest, which in itself is nice. However I don't like promoting in ME3 so I am slightly negative about this and think it could have maybe been achieved in another way like gaining the point from crafting.

Deluxe bonus content:

So how about - a nice tinted helmet for your MP character and an inquisitors comfy chair for Skyhold?

In all seriousness, whatever it is is likely to be a bit of a gimmick.
