Oh no, they have "promotions". I absolutely hated that useless **** in ME3 MP.

they stated in interviews /faqs promotions now give stat boosts too the class as well  as ranking

Bioware learning from their mistakes and listening to fans' feedback?!

We've already had things added to the game that originally weren't there. Originally it was a human protagonist only. Now we have Qunari, Elves and dwarves as options. More than even Origins had. Allen in an earlier post said the game world would have been smaller without the delay. So yes we have had things added to the game.

We don't know why EA allowed the extra year to further improve the game. It's very plausable an MP aspect added weight to the request for more time to fully develop the game, and yes both aspects would certainly have benefited from the extra time.

Yes, however arguing a year was added to development is silly, especially when somedevs have implied that multiplayer during earlier stages helped adjust balance for SP combat.

Sounds like it. I'm pleased.

Frankly I'm tired of the endless ME3 endings MP/SP linking argument that spin's round and round.

Nice to look forward for a change and to focus on the DAMP.

This game is going to eat chunks of my life come November.

You should really discuss this on the mp thread. I am surprised this hasn't been locked.

Because this thread came before the other multiplayer thread and it's pretty consistent and well edited.

I'm not married to the thread so if people prefer to argue the ME3 endings and why everything is the fault of the multiplayer, on other threads,

then they can be my guest. (and that's really not intended to come across as snarky as that sounds, that's just the truth of it)

We started discussing the multiplayer here on this thread July 6th, back when it was a hint of something that didn't add up, so this thread is not a 24 hour wonder.

If anyone would like like to positively discuss the mechanics and features of the DAI multiplayer then I'm very supportive of that and will keep the OP updated accordingly.

If people don't want to do that, then it will sink down the forum into oblivion, and I'm not going to feverishly try to resuscitate it by myself.

I leave that choice to the fine members of the BioWare forum.

In your hands...

Yeah, i know it is (And I know it was started ages ago: I have commented before). But It seems kinda pointless to have two mp discussion threads - i would've thought that one would have been locked (logically hrungr's thread, but that got pretty popular.)

No cross-platform play, according to the devs.

I suspect in time there will be a need for the BioWare forum to open a multiplayer section as there is for ME3. I realise for now there are too many threads, but that will settle down.

So I'm going to steer this thread toward forward looking comment (enough of the pre-order cancelled pain posts) and we'll also take a good look at the mechanics.

I have no issue at all with what hrungr does by the way, the twitter thread is awesome.

Actually, that's a good point.

I'm expecting similar 'boss types' between the three foe factions.

Pride Demon (Demons)

Behemoth (Red Templar)

Have we seen yet what Venatori have for big/powerful ?

Maybe a magister.

We only have those three factions? I'd have liked some 'capture a dragon's nest' missions or the like.

It was in the trailer, a big armoured warrior.

Though I wouldn't mind if they had scorpions and giant rhinos, too.

I suspect in time there will be a need for the BioWare forum to open a multiplayer section as there is for ME3. ...

Well that was timely, a multiplayer section is now open, thank you Mods.

I think the work of this thread is done.

Scuttlebutt is for rumours - multiplayer is no longer a rumour

and the breadth of the multiplayer cannot be addressed in a couple of general threads.

For the most part a few folk clung to the notion that there was a multiplayer lurking there, and we called it.

Thanks to all the thread participants whatever their perspectives.

Please let this thread drift to sleep and I'll see you in the multiplayer section.

I'm another who would prefer no multiplayer, and certainly no tie-in to SP. however, realistically I think it's likely there will be some sort of co-op multiplay.

My prediction is as follows:

- Given how much they 'borrowed' from the ME2 design when they were making DA2, I suspect we will again see many similarities to ME3. (Not the ending or plot, just interface, style etc) For instance, both games take place during a war

- We will see some sort of war room similar to ME3's where we can see the state of our inquisition (referenced already in the RAPTR Q&A I think)

- The state of the inquisition will affect somehow, the final battle/ending

- I doubt it will be reaper levels of destruction however.

- Agents will be earned by completing SP quests. They will be the equivalent of war assets.

- I really doubt they will make agents obtainable for SP from MP. however it is possible.

- Having more agents will make the game easier via missions, unlocking areas you'd have no access to yet etc.

- MP missions could be the missions you send our SP agents on, acted out. For instance you need to turn off gas in an area to allow the inquisition access to it. (no, completing the mission does not affect the SP game at all). The gas thing was mentioned in an early demo, they showed an area full of green gas and said the agents could clear it for you, so you can explore it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey my prediction from way back on page 19 holds up pretty well!

No idea why I didn't get a quote box

I do have to say, if I end up playing the MP for DA:I, I'm going to totally gravitate towards the keeper class. I intend to build my inquisitor around (hopefully) keeper magic so it'd be cool to play that in MP as well.

I could see a 4th designed around the end game boss in some way added in like late January after the Christmas people have probably finished their games.

The gameinformer article states that there will be three factions: Demons, Venatori, and Red Templars.

Link.  In the "Step Three: Play" section.

I'd personally like Darkspawn as a fourth faction.

I could see 5 as a possibility.

Darkspawn in accordance with some DLC.

Wild animals one. Gotta fight like drakes and wyverns and giants and bears and stuff
