Because this thread came before the other multiplayer thread and it's pretty consistent and well edited.

Can't we ask a mod to move the topic?

I think the OP can ask to move the topic to the multiplayer thread. I'm not really sure how though.

The gameinformer article states that there will be three factions: Demons, Venatori, and Red Templars.

 

Link.  In the "Step Three: Play" section.

 

I'd personally like Darkspawn as a fourth faction.

 

 

 

I could see 5 as a possibility.

 

Darkspawn in accordance with some DLC.

Wild animals one. Gotta fight like drakes and wyverns and giants and bears and stuff

 

I think the Factions are more supposed to be 'intelligent' and political entities actively working against the Inquisition. Darkspawn are not organized beyond all being tainted, without an Archdemon to control them they are mostly mindless, forming relatively small war bands. Wild Animals of course aren't a faction at all.

 

Having said that, it would be cool if some of the 'modules' in each campaign contain different enemies. For example, maybe one module in the Red Templar campaign has a cave with spiders or bears or something like that to fight through. Or maybe the Venatori will have darkspawn infesting a secret route into the castle, so one of the modules has the team fighting darkspawn. There is no need to limit each campaign to a single faction's npcs only, they can add random fluff encounters (bears and spiders and darkspawn and ogres and anything else their heart desires).

I don't think they all really need to be organized. 

You could easily just go to an area and "ah crap Darkspawn" and they attack you because they're evil!

 

Same with animals. "Team of dudes, you need to go to this place and get some weeds for the inquisitor. Beware, there are wyverns and pissed off bears in the area!"

That's what I mean. As part of the mission (which contains 5? out of 10 possible modules in a campaign) we could fight Darkspawn or wildlife in one of the modules, before returning to fighting the faction whose campaign we are in.

Appreciating the kind thoughts, dekkerd's right.

The thread was mostly about exploring the rumours when nothing was 'fixed'.

 

I had briefly thought that the thread would serve a purpose post-announcement, 

but with so many sub-threads breaking out in in the new multiplayer forum section then that's the best place to take things I think.

 

Summary:

 

Thanks very much to those who participated in the 73 pages or largely civil discussion.

 

If a passing Mod could very kindly lock this one, that would be great thanks.

 

Failing that, please don't add any more, and again, I really appreciate the posts above.
