As I was browsing the web, my eyes caught the attention of the pictures displayed below, then I came up with an idea. Wouldn`t it be cool if we got two more characters as DLC, perhaps a brother and sister from the Tevinter Imperium, similar in looks to those in the picture. Why should we normally encounter companions individually, why not two at the same time? Perhaps the brother and sister could have different agendas for being in Orlais, or perhaps they`ve been sent on a mission by the Archon himself, or better yet, maybe they are related to the Archon.

This is of course just an idea and is not to be taken seriously, but if you like, post below your companion suggestions and we can come up with awesome characters together.

(Ignore the "choose your inquisitor" part xD)

I kind of like this concept a brother & sister as companion's and if one of the siblings fell in battle would the other accept the loss or would they leave your side and swear a vendetta against you an meet said sibling later in the story for a face off.

One could make some good story's for these type of companion's, the more I think about it I like the idea.

I think they said they werent going to do companion DLC as the hooks have to be added to the main game, and content. Thus the complaints about Javik

Well I can safely say this is never going to happen (in DA:I) because I'm fairly sure I heard a dev saying there wouldn't be any companion DLCs.

As for the idea I think it's fairly interesting. In DA and ME we haven't really seen many companions with history between each other before joining the protagonist. While it would be interesting to see a sibling relationship inside our team, personally I'd rather see 2 companions with a negative history with each other and we can either agitate this aggression between them, side with one or the other, or try to get them to work together.

Yeah! That would be awesome! I can imagine all the drama and consequences already, haha oh the possibilities.

Oh, thats a shame, considering how many complaints there are about the current romance options. I think they should make some more companions to please the fans, but who knows what they`ll do. And we haven`t seen scribbles yet, nor do we know if there are any surprises lurking behind closed curtains. Anyway if they do not release companion dlc`s, we can still discuss what would be interesting, in case they change their mind or just for fun.

Thats another great idea, certainly would be interesting to see. Although who says siblings can`t have a negative history also? Like the Hound and the Mountain in GoT. xD Anyway, yeah 2 companions with negative history clashing against each other during the travels would be fun.

Need...this...so...much...

Anyway it would certainly make it a lot more personal and perhaps more tragic.

I sincerely hope to never see a companion DLC ever again in a bioware game, Bioware is renowned for there companions, its one of there top selling points, for that alone companions for me should never be put in any form of dlc.

Omega type DLC, Aria/Nyreen companions im fine with, but not full blown campaign companions aka shale/sebastian/javik

I wouldn't want this to be dlc. But I'd like a character like hit girl or ellie. A girl in her teens ish who just swears like crazy. Of course this might be a problem with the *cough* terrible *cough* kid character model.

If they were to make dlc companions why not make Hawke and the grey warden if they don't already appear? That way you could re-design them with the character creator to look as close as they did in your old playthroughs, and their mission could be what happened when they dissapeared at the end of their games. The missions could be seperate for each character or they could be linked (maybe Hawke and warden dissapear to the same place).

I wish they'd have such things in the base game. I hate DLC and the idea of DLC, typically.

It is very unlikely that we will have post-launch characters unless they are stand alone.  They haven't been included in our writing so far, and patching in the changes to all the conversations is impossibly impractical (and very risky).

Most of the time our companion characters DLC are a result of cuts due to scheduling.

Concept of a brother/sister duo as companions is cool...  as DLC though no thanks.

Sebastian and Javic both felt so...  well, useless in the grand scheme of things.

Like when Sebastian does his whole "it's me or Anders" speech I was like...  "I'll just choose Anders so I don't have to hear you whine anymore...."

i would rather not a DLC companion, that did my head in with previous games, because you dont get the full experience... with origins i bought the collectors edition and got it for free, and DA2 i wish i hadnt bought the sebastian DLC, he just turned out to be a pointless and whiny character when i had varric for ranged attacks, i dont think i ever used sebastian for anything now that i think about

I hope if they add DLC, it will be like Mark of the Assassin. You know a new location and new companions to play with for a short time.

Me too, I only used Sebastian for his quests not for his skills. That's a shame if you think about it.

I like using Sebastian. Good character and seeing Leliana in the 3rd act is cool.

For a dlc, I wouldn't mind something like Mark of the Assassin dlc.

yeah mark of the assassin or the origins dlc, that adds to the game and doesnt take away from it, that makes you want to come back to it after youve finished, thats the DLC i want, not something that should have been there only to be charged an extra £7 for a character who is present in the games files normally

I'm fine with that. Tallis was an interesting concept but she could have gone further and the time spent with her was quite short.

I have a feeling that Hawke and the Grey Warden will appear in the main game as is. They're very important characters and with how they're handling Leliana and the such they could have Hawke and the Grey Warden help the Inquisitor without being party companions.

if this is the case how come you have to charge £7 for it rather than say £3, since it was supposed to be present anyway, or is that a marketing thing?

Not going to happen.

Plus even if they did decide to do it people would just accuse them of cutting content that should have been in the main game.

How does that work when your companion DLC are always released the same day as the full game?

Because we are able to justify additional expenditure and hiring more people because there's a revenue stream to pay for it.

If the people weren't working on the characters for DLC, they'd be working on some other DLC instead and that DLC would be sold earlier than it otherwise would have been.

If DLC didn't exist at all, the people that would be working on it would likely be moving on to the next larger scale project (or worse, outright let go, depending on the circumstances).  Sometimes this still involves content cut from the original game (like expansion packs).

I personally would love to keep these talented people working and helping put out more fun!

On that Brother/Sister idea what if these two were from the Tevinter Imperium and were actually a Prince & Princess out in Ferelden or Orlais and we encounter them but they don't identify themselves.

I'm fine with awakenings/MAO syle dlc that adds stuff after you've finished the game... but nothing like sebastian. Although i kinda regret buying that dlc considering how mcuh i hated him.
