So there is a thread asking what type of character will you be playing upon the games release which mainly pertained to the player's class and race but my question for this thread is what type of leader will you be for the Inquisition?
Will you place the safety of your men above those of the common man to keep your forces strong?
Will you risk life a limb for every soul you encounter?
Will you be merciful or will you be pragmatic and ruthless if it mean achieving victory over your foes
What Kind of Leader Will You Be?

Pragmatic but honorable within reason. My organization is priority over some random peasants without a guarantee of return on investment. I'm trying to save Thedas, not every persons problems.

They will bend the Knee or I will destroy them.
I will be like Iron, I'll break before I bend.
Anyone who recongnizes these Lines knows, who my Inquisitor will be taking notes from when it comes to the Style of Leadership.
I'm going to Robb Stark it on one playthrough and Stannis Baratheon it on another.
Literally in the same Moment that I posted...

I'm gonna guess you are talking about Stalin or Hitler?

I'm out of likes, but that sounds about right. I love the way you put that. ![]()

I'll save as many people as I can, and try to make the companions happy, like I always do.
Don't worry, be happy! Everything is Awesome.

Not quite.
As for me, I'm probably going to play the save-as-many-lives-as-possible run first and after that, I'll probably go down the more-cruel-than-a-magister-in-an-alienage route.

That is a little extreme, don't you think? I know you don't agree with many of my Opinions, but let's keep civilized and try not to invoke Godwin's Law.
No, I do not talk about Stalin or Hitler. I'm talking about Stannis Baratheon from a Song of Ice and Fire. Who is not the nicest Person, but not exactly evil either. Well, YMMV on that one, but the Point is that his Dutifulness and Righteousness (as well as his lack of understanding for others and his very literal minded Approach to Things ... and his unwillingness to make compromises... and his willingness to use dubious means to get what he wants... you get the idea) will be mirrored by my first inquisitor's Approach to Leadership.

For one run, I really, really want to play as an unlucky nobody who got stuck with this power of suck and wants nothing to do with this whole leading the Inquisition business, and thus basically listens to whatever Cassandra says and fails at being a leader completely.
Yeah, I wanna play a puppet leader who knows they're a puppet.

Successful.
I'll protect everyone I can, but I will also have my own agenda to advance in the process of saving the world.

I will be as ruthless and evil as possible. I will do whatever it takes to achieve my goal. If I have to burn a village, kill my companions, anything and everything will be on the table for me to use to reach that goal. My femquisitor doesn't care about anything else except reaching her goal. Of course this is for one playthrough.
In other playthroughs I will be nice as possible while saving and helping as many as possible.

I'll try to save as many people as I could in the process of saving Thedas. However as he's saving the world and protecting people he's going to be actively using the situation to change a number of things in Thedas' society primarily Mages getting some more freedoms and Elves getting more social standing all the while hopefully turning the worlds attention back where it needs to be towards the Qunari.

I'm actually planning on going at this with absolutely no alternative agenda. My party members and advisers all have alternative agendas, and that's fine. But I'm going at this with a clear, fixed goal; close the breach, save the world.
I'm also not planning on bending or begging for help from anyone. I'm not asking people for help. I am giving them the opportunity to help me. And if they want to act like they're in a position to bargain and to use me, then I won't be so generous; I'll leave them to the demons until they come begging me to let them help the Inquisition.
But in the end, I will put a stop to this madness with any arms at my disposal.

My main char is actually not going to be... much of a leader at all. He/she will be a good-hearted softie that got caught up in something way beyond them. They're going to be uncertain a lot and depend heavily on their companions/advisors. They will hate the power they wield and question why it happened to them. They will fail at times and mourn their losses. Hopefully be scolded for it from time to time as well.
I imagine a leader who is regaled in stories, but occasionally you hear whispers that they were actually somewhat weak and helped along by the many others around them. Of course the plan is to have some character growth but I'm really interested in doing something other than the pragmatic natural leaders I tend play.

We're playing an Inquisitor, not a magister!
